In the absense of a fullfilling job and life, people seem to want to turn to clannish tribalism ("my church is better than yours" or "my religion is better than yours"). Really the problem isn't with your church or religion or nation, but with our spirit - we treat each other with no empathy - also our entire world economy is dedicated to exploitation and projecting false appearances through marketing. People need honest labour that they can be proud of, and need compassion.

Reading the comments below, no wonder it is so hard to bring people to Christianity. I recently heard a young woman whose family belonged to a church founded in the 19th century say "Do you mean all Christians who came before our church aren't saved?" It made me think we are so unkind to one another's developing faith and I pray God Will forgive us our lack of tolerance in His name.

i would attend more orthodox masses as a catholic but i am affraid because i am hispanic and i would fear of some kind of prejaduice againts me. i like the orthodox church amen

@jaquino451 God bless you! I would hope that my Orthodox brethren would never treat you in any unkind way. If they did, they would not be truly Orthodox. However, one point: the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches are not in Communion with each other. Please see the priest before going to receive Communion in another church. Via con Dios!

In Medieval iconography the Eye of Providence is not satanic at all. In fact it represents the trinity. If you really think about God is all knowing and sees all. Do you really wish to put satan on the same level as God. I would hope not. Don't limit the power of Christ. Because it's limitless.

this is the best performance of this song, what I'd been hear so far! 10-12 years ago russian quartette name 'Blagovest" has made very good performance of this song, but since then there has been some changes... I use to sing this song in church with professional choir back to Russia...Thank's for posting, I'l like to buy this CD.

Excusing the slight intonational wobbles, one has to admire this, Bortniansky's most well-loved hymn. Very beautiful.

@Gidenkidenk well, each church and religion has it's own customs. Doesn't make it right or wrong, we are all human in God's eyes. I love my church and it's customs, and I respect the others. In fact, I find other churches customs quite interesting to learn about.
