Thank you for making this video you explained "Tabby" and lots more so clearly ..I had taken a class and a lot was omitted :o( which that caused me a lot of misunderstanding to continue..now I'm back on track..thanks again.
Not too familiar with African textile books - but there should be some if you Google around. Interweave Press may have something, you might find more information in periodicals, articles directly relating to African weaving. I know they use a lot of thin bands that they stitch together - and have read articles but cant' recall any details, sorry.
There are lots of good books on weaving coverletts. Weaver's Book by Helene Bress, Learning to Weave, Chandler; Weaving Overshot, Sullivan - check out Interweave Press for more titles.
I loved watching you do this! I guess I have some exciting patterns to try in my future! I used to watch my grandmother weave. She was very old. However, now I'm as old as she was! Imagine. I understand now why people loved watching me weave, it was very relaxing to watch you weave...made me want to get up and walk across the room to my loom and thread up my bobbin again!
Sad to hear of your camera mans passing RIP POPS ! !
