I think you missing the point......The Vette with cost less and modify cheaper than a Viper any day of the week. You have a tremendous handicap because of the added price just to start out with the Viper and if you're going to tell me that you can get a used one for the price of a new Vette....well those Vipers are putting out a lot less horsepower than the new ones and you could get a Vette for much or less or like be like me and get a brand new one for 39k.

I haven't seen any NEW or near NEW Vipers for anywhere near 39k. The old ones put out less power. A supercharger for the Vette is 4900, install and tune is 1500 and then I'm putting out around 600 horsepower and about 520-540 to the wheels. For half price I think it's clear there is no comparison.

The vette is cheaper and you can modify it with what you save.... however the point im making is that a viper has more modify potential than a corvette. hell i could modify an srt-4 neon to out run a corvette with the money i save. however, the srt-4 will have reached it's full potential before the corvette due to the lesser engine size. Same thing goes for a corvette against a viper.

You're not serious! A peg legged four banger is never going to compete with a Vette. You can't get the power to the ground even if you had it. If you did serious custom chassis work for traction you might as well have bought a better car that is designed for speed instead of wasting your money on some wannabe rice burner. The srt-4 was able to win with a 3'' down pipe and some nos.....a lot less modding then you said would need to be done to beat a vette, I like dodges because of their style and power. Put it on a real motor like the LS1 in the C5 and see what happens. At least if you're gonna put cheap ass mods on the SRT-4, put them on the Vette as well and see what happens. Not to mention the NOS is gonna blow the SRT motor apart from all the stress in a short time.
