  • I was there today 

  • Wow, now that's a crack in the window.

  • Cool cette route ^^

  • waste of money wtf.

  • Comment removed

  • That guy needs to fix the crack in his windshield.

  • william tell? I thought this road thing was for the car commercial

  • i was11!!!!!!!!

  • it's supposed to be from Rossini's "The William Tell Overture" but it doesn't sound like it. :/

  • What song is this??

  • The speed probably would affect the tuning of the sound. But then it would at least be in tune with itself. In this case, there's 2 or 3 notes that are out of tune with the rest of the tune. But what do you expect? It's sound created by grooves in asphalt. It's not gonna be perfect.

  • The speed & the car involved are irrelevant to the fact that it's playing the wrong notes. Whoever cut the grooves miscalculated, is tone deaf, or both. Basically, changing the car changes nothing; changing the speed changes the pitch (or key), but not the tune. And the tune is completely wrong. Yes, I'm a musician and yes, I understand the physics of sound.

  • anyone bitching about the pitch is a moron. So what if you're a musician, are you an engineer too? I want to see you make a better song out of concrete, dumbass. There are too many variables for it to sound perfect.

  • for all the people saying its out of pitch, or off tune.. its because they engineered the road for a HONDA CIVIC any other car isnt the exact right size or depending on tire pressure etc. will make it off. theres nothing wrong with the road. i think its genius.

  • Not a chance. It sounds terrible with a Civic - in their own commercial. The intervals are off - the only thing that is correct are the last five notes.

  • it sucked just as bad in the civic...

  • I heard that they are removing this road due to the complaints coming from people who live there.

  • nah, actually they ripped up the road after the commercial, so people complained that they wanted to keep it.

    ( i live near it)

  • that is rediculous. something that is like this should of been left alone and considered to be historical or something......it had to of taken a lot of time to make this.

  • yeah easy to say for someone that doesnt have to listen to that everytime you passed over it

  • Dude, you need to drive faster to keep the pitch up.

  • This sounds absolutely terrible to anyone who has heard the piece before, and even more so to a musician.

  • good thing they didn't put down "happy birthday" music on the road. Otherwise, depending on pitch variation, the song would've came out as a question instead of a statement. That happen to me on my guitar.

    "Happy birthday to...you?"

  • For those of us with perfect pitch, this drives us crazy...

  • Sure... it makes different tones... but these geniuses apparently never consulted a musician... they got the melody.. and the rhythm (at the end).. all wrong!

  • loll u know this is actually reaalll it was on the news and in current sceince magazine if u have it

  • its real. if you read currents science magazine, it tells you a story

  • That's just badass.

  • Actually trance1972 it was honda that paid to make this road for it's commercial....

  • When will their next road play SLIPKNOT.

  • Lol i'll drive on that road every day XD

  • huustyyyyyy

  • The musical road is back, Avenue"G" between 30th and 40th Street West, Westbound in the #1 lane.

  • this could be so much cooler if it was in TUNE! damn. would you have to drive a certain speed?

  • yes, it's just frequency variation that makes the different notes. drive faster and it will go up in pitch, slower and it will go down. just like those strips on the side of the highway.

  • It was also designed for a Civic EXL with an automatic and stock tires.

  • This is so cool! I wish this would happen in more places. I think it would help cut driving fatigue and make a long distance trip more interesting. Thanks for sharing!

  • Oh, how jaded some of the comments sound! what ever happened to looking at things with child-like wonder? Music carved into a road? pshaw! I happen to think it's neato!

  • This may vaguely be the rhythm of The W.T. Overture, but the pitches aren't even close. Sounds like an ad-person's not very well-thought out idea. Can they do the flight of the bumblebee too? And if you go 60 mph, will it just be faster, or do the pitches change? As Stravinsky said of John Cage's silent "4:33", I look forward to works of major length."

  • chang33님 감사하무니다.

  • 저도 잘 보고 갑니다. 노대리님 추천으로 댓글 남깁니다.

  • 팀장님 소개로 잘 보고 갑니다.

  • lol, it sounds scary but thats it all right XD

  • it's made specifically for the length and wheel type of a honda civic.

  • This is about the worst rendition of the William Tell Overture ... ever. Perhaps it works better in an Honda?

  • Out of tune

  • I dont understand, where is the music coming from?

  • The road was grooved in such a way that when you drive over it at the right speed, it'll play that particular tune.

  • Awesome! The intervals between the note are not accurate, though.
