  • Just to be safe, get in the habit of doing the "cowboy load" or " John Wayne load" as it's sometimes called. This means to load one, skip one, load four. So when the cylinder makes its full rotation the hammer will rest on a empty camber making it safe to carry.

  • ALWAYS KEEP THE HAMMER DOWN ON AN EMPTY CHAMBER WITH ANY TRADITIONAL SINGLE ACTION REVOLVER TO AVOID ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE AND DEATH.

  • is that the same as the .357 revolver

  • the colt S.A.A. 45 has to be one of the best looking guns ever made.

  • beautiful gun

  • i love guns

  • thts really cool

  • It's good to own a gun; I love guns. A gun is a self-reliant tool you use to feed and defend yourself. You can also do some target practice with it to hone your gun skills.

  • Nice gun.. very good history.behind.the.design.. and its alot.older.than just 100yrs.

The colt1911 is 100 yrs.old and thats a gas operated semi auto magazine fed pistol so this colt cownoy style single.action pistol has alot.more years. Of design use but yes great.gun

  • Very nice handgun you have there!

  • The function of the second amendment is not so we may go hunting , nor does it exist so that we may protect ourselves or our property. Its primary existence is as a safe guard against a tyranical government or power that may see fit to suspend, erode or dismantle our liberties as guaranteed under the constitution and the bill of rights.

Take away the 2nd ammendment and you can wave goodbye to all our liberties.

  • ONLY RELIABLE FULL-AUTO RUGER 10/22 .22LR SUB MACHINE GUN ON THIS EARTH. We are living in the 'golden age' of firearm design & modification. Look at this wild thing on my YouTube. GSV sells a DVD video explaining an easy way the convert any semi-auto Ruger 10/22 rifle into a true full-auto. All other Ruger full-auto conversions suffer from 'bolt-bounce / light-strikes' which cause many malfunctions. GSV conversions have been tested with no malfunctions.

  • @Mw2child98 It will?!? Wow! Those evil guns. LOL

  • People buy guns everyday yet most of them don't even know the business end of a gun let alone the damage it can do. I've asked my senator to make viewing of gunshot wounds videos and a trip to the hospital's trauma center a must to prospective first time gun buyers. Heck, they teach sex education to elementary kids, why not teach them about guns too! Don't wait for the NRA to educate your kids they love to give your kids gun and watch them blow their heads off. Black kids especially.

  • @BullyChicken The NRA has nothing to do with gun violence, people choose to be irresponsible. Your comment about children blowing each others heads off "black kids especially" is not only racist, its a crude statement. That is part of the individuals environment, along with their personal decisions. If guns were taken out of the equation, than it would be something else, such as machetes, throwing stars, or something to that nature. If you are going to be ignorant and hate, do it somewhere else.

  • sweet revolver, and yup, the mechanical sound a revolver makes is gun love

  • i said colt 45 and 2 zigzags baby thats all we need

  • Ahw my balls hurt when you dry fired it !

  • what is that gun worth would u say?

  • how much did you pay for this gun also what year is this gun from.

    thank you

  • I love that you put annotations in after every douche on the internet commented on how you should be handling your gun.

  • @19ThyRickster91 Yep, pretty much. Haters gonna hate

  • FINGER CONTROL!

  • colt 45 2 zig zag!

  • just to let you know you have to bring back your hammer all the way back before releasing it. If you release the hammer from half cocked it will start messing up a certain part on your revolver don't ask which part i don't know im just letting you know

  • Is it true that there are three generations of Colt .45 SAA? From 1873 up to around 900 and then the new production up to 1952?

  • i think that´s a newer version cause it has three screws under the barrel, and the really old ones have only two... but i´m not saying that isn´t like people may used it in the old times but it int´s like the very first versions...

  • hey! dumdass trigger out please! their are kids who are watching your video

  • That's some heavy breathing you got there. Dont smoke kids!

  • Wa iszz diz

  • it is the Colt .45 SAA 5'' barrel nickel plated revolver? yes i know i am very precise

  • @abc12319525 I am not entirely sure, I don't have it with me. It is an Uberti Colt.

  • @f1shbone it may not be a good idea to pull the trigger with no shell in the chamber you could break your fireing pin

  • @spacepatrolman No it won't, centerfire guns can be dry fired to your heart's content with the exception of the CZ 52 a Curio & Relic handgun. Don't dry fire a rimfire because it will eventually peen the edge of the chamber mouth and you'll stick cases in the chamber. I'm a gunsmith

  • John Martson proudly thumbs up this video 399 times.

  • 0;27 i hear windows error

  • @CSxKonio there was no computer anywhere near

  • @f1shbone ok sorry man.. new dealer, new stuff

  • @CSxKonio I hear it too

  • Guns Ammo Classifieds com

  • Colt is a good company. Looking to buy something like this.

  • What is the function of the third click?

  • @Keichwoud357 I am not sure

  • @Keichwoud357 the third click locks the cylinder in place, then you pull back the hammer to the fourth click (position 3) where the gun is ready to fire.

  • @Keichwoud357 If you cock the hammer very slowly there are actually 4 clicks total. The 1st click is the safety notch and the 2nd one is the half cock where you can turn the cylinder to load or unload the revolver. The 3rd click is the bolt dropping down on the cylinder approach and the 4th click is the hammer dropping into the full cock position as the bolt drops down into the cylinder locking notch.

  • @Keichwoud357 - There is an internal part called a bolt. In the half cock position, the bolt is retracted down into the frame, allowing the cylinder to freely rotate. The third click that you hear is the bolt popping up to lock the cylinder into place for the full cock position.

  • @Keichwoud357 To get the hammer back enough to be able to actually set off a bullet, it won't fall hard enough on the second click and the first click s so that you can holster it.

  • @Keichwoud357 being able to fire the gun

  • -and two zigzags, baby thats all we need!

  • @captainsmak we can go to the park after dark smoke that tumble weed ;)

  • @KingNasrify As the marijuana burn, we can take our turn

  • @captainsmak singing them dirty rap songs, stop and hit the bong like cheech and chong

  • @KingNasrify And sell tapes from here to Hong Kong...

    I salute you Sir Knight

  • i only like these ones because the cylinder doesnt come out and that it is single action

  • rule number one- keep the booger hook off the boom switch!

  • Do you have to load the hammer in the firing position before every shot. I know this seems stupid but I am unsure.

  • @1bigman74 that's not a stupid question at all. Yes, actually you have to pull the hammer after every shot.

  • @f1shbone It's called Single Action. When you pull the hammer back on a single action you immediately get transported back in time. When that happens, go to the bar on the left they have a fancy-fingered piano player and hot middle aged womens that shake it when they walk! :P

  • @1bigman74 you can also hold the trigger down and do what is called "fanning" where you take your other hand and "fan" back the hammer to do rapid fire =D

  • I have never understood why Dry Firing is a bad thing...

Dry Fire = Hammer hits open air and gun frame

Firing = Hammer hits Brass Case and gun frame

And I have never gotten a straight answer, just "Its bad don't do it" ¬_¬

  • @BlankPicketSign Good point. I think most of us have heard the same without adequate explanation. There ARE guns which can eventually damage their own firing pins if dry fired too often. The CZ52, for example. There are small "abuses" which people tend to avoid with guns, but I don't think they should be criticized too heavily for it so long as it's THEIR gun they're doing it to. Guns should be handled carefully, but owners shouldn't be nitpicked over every move they make, either.

  • @Agent0061958

In the same light, once I buy my own weapon (21 Yayz) I won't Dry Fire it

Just cuz it'll be my baby =^_^= Gotta take care of it.

I'm thinking a nice 12 gauge... but company and model I am still shopping

  • yaboypowda: The loading gate has a shaft going into the frame. A coil spring with a gate catch works against two angled cuts on that shaft, one holds the gate open, the other one shuts it. That gate catch is worn out, preventing proper gate movement. The hand (curved part that rotates cylinder) needs its leaf spring renewed. The hammer's loading notch extension (middle) has broken off (Very dangerous!!). The full cock position notch (bottom) needs reshaping or better still, buy a new hammer.

  • Regarding dry firing of SAA revolvers like this one will cause no damage. Note the thickness of the hammer neck and uppermost part. The latter is the only part which slams against the strong frame when dry firing. Only fanning (Aaaargh!!) a SAA will cause most damage to many parts, especially on all six cylinder stop notches!! Advice to all: When handling guns - FORGET MOVIES!!! Firearms are tools that demand respect, or you will SURELY suffer the consequences!! Nuff said.

  • Nickfizzle: If the hammer can fall (by trigger pull) from its safety or loading positions, that gun is unsafe. The hammer's top and middle notches are cut differently to prevent the trigger's sear from moving and releasing the hammer in safe or when loading. Only by pulling the hammer slightly back while pulling the trigger will allow the sear to disengage from the safety and loading notches. The bottom (Full cock) notch should be the only one that allows the hammer to fall by trigger pull.

  • Punchmaster123 : A revolver is not really a pistol since the barrel and chambers are separated. A pistol is all single shot and semi automatic handguns where the chamber is integral with the barrel. Wheellocks and flintlocks handguns are also true pistols. Barrels on semi autos are still made in one part, hence the term semi automatic pistol (the word derives from early Italian gunmakers Pistoia). I hope this answers your query. Cheers.

  • That is a beautiful gun, i have been looking for that model for some time.. You probably get asked this a lot ...where did you buy that one if you don't mind me asking??

  • @Remik2008 Scheels for around 500 bucks. Cabelas had it too but it was more expensive

  • those 'bullets' of you are in fact spent cartridges, the bullets are the lead things that flew out of the cartridges through your barrel ...

  • @pim1234 yep, been already corrected. Numerous times.

  • @f1shbone ok, sorry to have bothered you then ;))

  • my manual loading door doesnt stay open unless you hold it.....it dont click when it spins and the trigger only pulls in the safty poisiton not in the third position....what would cause this/????

  • is this a real working gun?

  • @dantastic15 Yes

  • Americans, don't let them take away your guns like they already have here, from Britain.

  • @stepheng1483 They're trying to do the same thing here in Brazil. So sad :(

  • @Kouma013 They want people unarmed and helpless so they can do whatever they want to us. Unarming the people is a vital part of their plans for a one world government. It is mentioned in the protocols of the elders of zion.

  • These guns are a treat to shoot :D I was at the range and a fella brought one in, .45 long colt i believe. Didnt even kick that hard and some nice accuracy. Was about the same as my Para LTC .45 ACP. Handled like a dream.

  • What do you think about the acuracy of SAA? Its cool or too outdated if compared with newer revolvers?

  • @ALSPEHEIR If it was an original or designed entirely around the original then it wouldn't be as accurate as I don't think they had rifled barrels. Not a problem at close to middle range but you're most likely not gonna be able to make the kinds of shots you see in films like The Magnificent Seven :P

  • @comradet0m Rifled barrels were the rule after 1855. The Colt Single Action Army was not built until 1873.

  • revolvers dont have safeties.....just so you know. the hammer may be locked, but its not an actual safety

  • the settings are called uncocked, safety, half-cocked, and cocked.

  • @cscow7 That's definitely a lot of cock. Just messing with you :)

  • @f1shbone yup, hence my nickname colt .45 ;D

  • Why would you need a gun like this?

  • @dantastic15 interesting question. I would not call owning this gun a NEED. How about a want? How about because it's cool as shit?

  • @f1shbone well i guess if you want one as a piece if US memorabilia then that is cool. In Canada and parts of the US and South America the cattle drives still carry guns like this when they are driving the cattle.

  • @dantastic15 Because it's a bad ass gun and an American classic!

  • @dantastic15 the question is why wouldnt you?

  • @dantastic15 to protect your self, and your family. if you have one.

  • @dex1997dugas who are you protecting yourself from?

  • @dantastic15 - Who is he protecting himself from? I'm perplexed...haven't you ever heard of criminals?

  • @JohnQuincyAdams1 haha i like this guy! no homo but no, that was a good answer

  • @dantastic15 anyone who trys to hurt or kill you. plus u can hunt with the gun too

  • @dex1997dugas well I am English and we don't have a gun culture here. That said if anyone broke into my house and I had this weapon you had better believe I would use it!

  • @dantastic15 - It's not a gun culture, just a common sense culture, as you seem to agree. :)

  • @JohnQuincyAdams1 Not sure if it is a common sense culture, a culture non the less.

  • "i love that sound" *spinds barrel a couple times

    *jizz

  • Hey, I have a question, I only have enough money to buy one gun, I really particulary like the Colt SAA, but do you think it would also make a ok defense gun? (not concealed carry, but general defense) I know there are better options out there for self defense, glocks, sigs, S&W revolvers, rugers and etc, but I really like the SAA or (replica of the SAA)

  • @nunvikingsofthesea if it shoots and can kill, then it will be good for self defense. That being said, this gun is a novelty more than anything else. it is remarkably heavy, kicks back a decent amount, takes practice to be a good aim with and is a bitch to reload. Then again if you are expecting to get into gunfights where 5 rounds are not enough, I would say you have bigger problems :)

  • @nunvikingsofthesea by the way this gun is quite deadly, a man killer for sure. It'll put a decent hole in many things. Replica or not, it ain't no sissy gun.

  • @f1shbone Im sure it would

  • @nunvikingsofthesea Hey man, I'm not the owner of this vid, but here is my two sense: If you learn "slip thumbing" (no need to do it as fast as SASS people do) the single action can be a very formidable weapon. You also need to practice reloading, not only from empty, but from like 2 shots fired, open the loading gate, locate and eject the two spent casings, then reload and fire two more shots. While it is not as fast a double action revolver (let alone and auto pistol) it can still be a weapon.

  • @SuperR3volver thanks man for the tips

  • @nunvikingsofthesea You have to cock the hammer every shot you want to fire. Not a good suggestion as a personal defense weapon unless you are highly trained with it although if you hit something, one shot is all you would need with those fat rounds. A glock for instance is as easy as they get, safe to handle and easy to reload with a little instruction and has a variety of rounds it can fire. I like .45 ACP myself so I got a 1911 .45. These revolvers are meant for fun and show.

  • I wanna so fire this kind of weapon but its new and unused so it stays locked up :P

  • Should only do 5 rounds.. you could drop shot if you aren't careful.

  • Don't let the government take your guns from Britain.

  • DROP IT!

  • ok first thing nice video

secondly stop givin him a crap load of shrapnal for using the wrong words and let him be gs

  • Why is everyone so uppity about dry fire, I've done it to my S&W Model 10, Remington 1858 (Pietta clone), Nagant revolver, Martini-Henry rifle, and Mosin Nagant rifle for years no problems, wear, or foreseeable problems from it. Guns are not fragile "shoot once and put under glass" type objects, they are made to be used!!!!!

  • @jd99germania ... happens only during full moon with one finger in butt. So if someone tells you it happened to him better don't shake hands with that guy ;D

  • very nice !

  • why would you spin the cylinder don't you know that can damage the gun

  • The hammer will rest on the primer not the bullet, the bullet is at the front of the cartridge case. Don't leave the hammer under a live cartridge (not bullet), the 1st click (safety) is notorious for failing so don't let the barrel under a loaded cartridge while carrying or shooting. It is common to leave the hammer under an empty chamber so only load 5 rounds. You don't need to leave the hammer on an empty chamber on single action revolver which have a transfer bar.

  • dont u have magazine problems?

  • @chilidress Not really

  • @f1shbone and my friend thats not how you load a colt 45, load one skip one and then load 4, then pul the hammer all the way back and decock it and then your ready to go, like you said at the beginning about the hammer touching the primer, you would be very foolish to carry it with 6 rounds in it

  • @chilidress I hope you're being sardonic.

  • gorgeous

  • u sound mad nerves

  • beautiful nickel display for this uberti. i hope soon to get mine in nickel 5".

  • i thought Colts were pistols, not revolvers.

  • @punchmaster123 I thought Colts were horses.

  • @punchmaster123 Colt has made pistols, revolvers, rifles, and shotguns.

  • nice weapon!:)

  • that is a nice sound

  • Great video f1shbone! It really shows how single action revolvers work in detail! I especially like how you show that the 1st "safety" click takes the firing pin off the primer.

This also shows how big those Colt 45's really are, even with the 4.75" barrels they are gigantic guns!

  • You sound kinda exhausted - did you masturbate befor you did the recording?

  • @alenleroc Is that all you think about?

  • @f1shbone Honestly? :D

  • @f1shbone i actually dont think it hurts revolvers to dry fire them

  • @alenleroc haha its funny causes it true

  • @alenleroc ermmm... what..?

  • @alenleroc this made me LOL

  • @alenleroc ahahahahhaaa

  • @alenleroc its always good to rub one out before performances! xD

  • @alenleroc its people like you who make youtube what it is.. a bunch of retards

  • @delldesktop5566 Then you came to the right place :D

  • @alenleroc Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • @southernforever38 There is no point in getting a "real one" Uberti makes very high quality guns, and all of their Single Action Revolvers are made on Colt machinery anyway. It's the exact same gun.

  • Cartridge

    Not bullet

    :D

  • replica????

  • Hikhok45 says that it isn't dangerous to dryfire the colt 45.=)

  • @Lajjnus87 hickok45 is a very wise man i would take his word over anyones anytime

  • Hammer down on an empty chamber. And please, finger off the trigger!

  • u never load in 6 rounds u load one then skip one then load the rest so ur gun is on a empty chaber!

  • why is it bad to dry fire your gun?

  • Man, you must've heard of gun porn out there but this one was different. It was Gun-Sound-porn!

Beautiful revolver, great video, excellent sounds!

  • daz fukn sweet!

  • you sir, are a badass for owning this gun. I don't pretend to know anything about guns, but to me, wild-west and cowboy guns are just more awesome. as soon as I am old enough I'm gonna get one of these.

  • glock FTW

  • @southernforever38

The replicas are tougher and more rugged. Especially the new Ruger Vaquero. The only thing that you get when you buy a colt... is the name colt. If your looking for a display piece that costs over 600 bucks, then go ahead and get a colt. IF your looking for something that will DO WORK in the field. Get a replica.

  • Truly Is A Magnificent Weapon And In Good Hands Also

  • @southernforever38 wel i wouldnt wana take the risk of a "real" one blowing up in my face plus they are realy expensive

  • Ah, my Grandfather let me fire his Sprinfield 1903 and Colt .45 today..

It led me to find out how much I enjoy guns...

Too bad that I'm not old enough for a gun license. Sad face.

  • A gun may be, indeed, a beautiful instrument! The sound of precision movements , as in the cocking hammer and revolving cylinder, are both a real pleasure to see and hear. Nice piece on an old, but much venerable classic! Thanks for this!

  • just so u know a bullet is whats at the end of the round..its the lead or full metal jacketed projectile on the "end" of the round the loaded object your talking about is a shell...bullet is what my 6 year old calls it...no offense but just to help others

  • in a war if you need reload witch that gun you DEAD

    beautiful gun!!

  • @BrutalBearman

Only with homemade silver slugs :D

  • one of the most beautiful revolvers ever made

  • Beautiful gun but it isn't a colt. When you pull the hammer back on a colt there a 4 distinct clicks, some believe the clicks spell out colt.

  • @xboxbandman I can assure you there are actually 4 distinct audible clicks, just not in this video (not to mention I didn't know there are 4 when I recorded this).

  • is it possible for the barrel to get loose?

  • Dry firing isn't actually that bad for that. But decocking is. It's bad for the mechanism. Or so i hear? :s

  • @nickfizzle its bad to decock and dry fire when the hammer is in the half cocked position.

  • damn thats a nice gun real or replica?

  • @southernforever38 The real ones are way to rare and valuable to shoot. (you could shoot it, but it could hurt the value of it.)

  • Can it stop pennywise?

  • nice pice men bery bery nice

  • @southernforever38 It IS real you dumb fuck

  • @southernforever38 I don't see a point in the real one besides bragging rights. It's not like this thing is made of plastic.

  • @f1shbone He obviously thinks he knows more than you do.

  • Sweet gun. Does it use black powder, or standard gun powder?

And is it safe to load .44 magnum rounds into that gun?

  • oh that poor sa action. im bout to cry

  • Load five then keep the hammer down on the empty chamber. Just a bit of safety advice.

  • It kills demons?
