  • My hats off to your effort Maybe you could build another plexiglass case around it to keep it that much hotter, if it saves you $300 a year its worth it, the skeptics complain about the cost up front what if these endeavors save a household 1000 a year!! Id love knowing I beat the utilies for that money. Dont give up, that idea represents your freedom!!

  • Each coil of copper is 40 bucks, along with the glass, paint, wood. It would be cheaper to purchase a vacuum tube system.

  • @pukaman2000 those coils dont cost 40$ and vaccum tube systems cost thousands

  • @NOBOX7 Interesting. I went down to Lowes here in Kona and those tubes do cost 40 dollars. If you look on ebay a vacuum tube system cost less than a grand. Though I do agree with you that if you call up the solar guy he will charge you 10 grand. Also, I know that a contractor in California installed a bunch of copper tubing in track house, the inspector came out and looked at it and said "What the hell is that?" Turns out the copper tubing was not water grade; no blue line.

  • man thats so cool

  • Old man winter will have fun with that! Im thinking some kind of drain down design might be better.
