  • Cap and trade is a pigouvian tax which lowers harmful activity through pricing schemes. What's wrong with that idea? I'm sure the Heritage Foundation would support such a thing on more Conservative initiatives, like taxing alcohol to reduce demand.

And yes, this is mainly a debate about reducing carbon emissions. So how would the Heritage Foundation like to reduce carbon emissions? If you can come up with an effective way that doesn't involve putting a price on carbon, then I'm all ears.

  • The cap and trade scheme is not about reducing carbon emissions. If they were serious they would make all future drilling illegal and start reducing production of coal oil and gas. If we get it out of the ground, make no mistake we will burn it. The HF has it exactly right, this is about funding the Dems plans

  • Cap and trade, or a carbon tax will be the biggest monster and have more tentacles than most people realize. This tax will be even more intrusive than the income tax!

There is such a frenzy of activity right now in Congress to see who can spend the most and tax the most it's unbelievable!

  • Holler...good work.

\/ (Below) The content alone should be taken seriously. But you should be taken seriously too. And seriously, you need to rock that bowtie kid!

  • The content alone should make people take them seriously. I take a 3.5 trillion budget seriously. A huge tax increase will be taken seriously by your pocketbook if you work.
