The contact altered his stride, he tried to keep his balance and couldn't, he appealed for the penalty because if it weren't for the contact it wouldn't have happened.

When your sprinting any slight contact alter's your balance and position greatly.

Look at Barcelona if you want to see diver's, plus at least Henry didn't stay down and fake an injury.
