@Fry420x might have????? in the 80s and laye 70s no one was better...70s and 80s flair was better then wrestlers now...thats y hes called the best of all time...wooooooooooo...
I remember this promo for sure when WCW and the NWA were in hits heydays and in full swing! These definitely were the days and we'll never see anything like them again!
Saying Ric Flair gave a bad promo is like saying Freddie Mercury gave a bad performance. Sorry folks, these men were the utmost professionals. It never happened. The best of the best for plenty of reasons.
0:47 whether you like it or don't like it.. sit down and look at it.. because its tha best... going today.. WOOOOOOOOO.. Lol.. it doesnt get any better than Ric Flair.
Shawn Michaels cannot hold a mic to Ric.... He's good but just not that good. If you recall he idols Ric, therefore, he cannot be like Flair. Whoooooooo!
7 people don't think Cindy Margolis can handle riding Space Mountain with The Naitch..... BULLSHIT!!! Ric Flair is MORE THAN MAN ENOUGH to handle Cindy Margolis, but is she more than woman enough to handle a former 16-time World Heavyweight Wresling Champion??? We all wanna find out......
Better mic workers than Hogan: Flair, Anderson, Tully Blanchard, The Rock, Shawn Michaels, Austin, Dusty Rhodes, Magnum TA, Nikita Koloff, Mick Foley, Kurt Angle, HHH, Sting, Vince McMahon, Sgt. Slaughter, Ricky Steamboat. There's many more, but that's just right off the top of my head, and Flair is the best.
@yardlet6 See, I found his mic skills, especially his later promos when he was feuding over the championship with Flair, to be excellent, and at the very least better than Hogan's, who in my opinion basically cut the same promo every time. Though, Steamboat was definitely not one of the best ever.
@SydneyRico69 Not on the mic...........Piper Rock Jake The Snake Flair Jericho. Its easy to talk when the fans love you but if you can talk and make the fans hate you, thats talent. Hogan was ok as Hollywood on the mic but he wasnt an all time great with his mic skills. It was his gimmick that he played perfectly and really bought into that makes him a legend
@rjone15 You have to be believable. Sgt Slaughter got death threats Piper started riots, Rock got venom when he went to Canada...........it takes talent to keep that kind of heat
@rjone15 Not really. There were a lot of villians that tired to be hateful, but never stood the test of time. For example, one of the least memorable villians was Nailz.
Great clip...but it's not even Top 3. Golden Spoon will always be the best Flair promo. The one where he kills Buddy Landell and JJ Dillon is #2 (it's called Ric Flair Flossy on YT). And the one he did setting up the I Quit Match against Terry Funk was great too...he was just as intense as a face.
I remember when this was first aired and I made a video tape of it. I must have watched it a thousand times and had every word memorized. Ric Flair... he was amazing in his day.
The only two people who could rival Flair on a promo were Roddy Piper and The Rock. There have been some great promo-guys over the ages (Dusty Rhodes, Stone Cold, Road Warrior Hawk, Randy Savage, Mick Foley) but Flair was a completely distinct breed. Its too bad he has become bitter, greedy and has proven himself to have no moral character by joining TNA after spending several years bashing it. And its too bad he shat on the WWE after it gave him the wrestling industry's greatest farewell ever.
That's not a promo at all. That's a montage. Everyone knows that Flair's best PROMO was when he accepted Undertaker's challenge to fight him at Wrestlemania X8.
from the way he looked, to the way he dressed, to way he talked about living life, to the way he would give interviews with the world heavyweight championship on full display ric was the mold from wich all world champions should be cut from.
@JoshRA Technically, it's a montage...but NWA used to play it almost twice a weekend during the 80s. I've been looking for this promo for 25 years and I finally found it. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
@southpaw2k1 Yeah. They still play this during WWE's broadcast of NWA World Championship Wrestling (from 1987/1988). Actually, I think they stopped a few weeks back. But the episodes from 1987, they played this montage damn near each week. lol
@libertyemil Can't disagree with you there...and his theme music playing in the background. They used to play it at least twice a weekend back in the day.
"What's causing all this" ..one of the greatest quotes in the history of wrestling as well as one of the best of all time...WWHHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
Nobody, not Austin, the Rock, Sting, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, HHH, and especially not Hogan, can hold a candle to The Nature Boy's mic skills. WHOOOOO!
@NorthViewFederation While the Rock may be the best in the recent era on the mic, he's still no Flair. I also don't think he would be able to hold his own against Dusty Rhodes or Roddy Piper on the mic. He's in the top 10 of all time for sure, but Flair is undisputably number one.
@DocLeggz Wouldn't say "undisputably" - it's pretty subjective, seeing as promo work is effectively an art form. I personally think Rhodes, Piper, The Rock, Jake Roberts and Jim Cornette are better promo guys. No slight on Flair, I just wouldn't put him above those guys.
@EvenflowBlack I still think Flair is much better than any of them, but everyone you mentioned is pretty great. But, you did forget one person: Bobby Heenan.
@DocLeggz Oh yeah, Heenan was awesome, but then so was Michael Hayes, Jerry Lawler, Tully Blanchard, Chris Jericho, Shawn Michaels - can't remember them all, mate! ;)
@EvenflowBlack Gary Hart was great, the Macho Man was pretty good, and Arn Anderson was also great, as were Ivan and later Nikita Koloff and Baron Von Raschke. But you know someone who got pushed like crazy and couldn't cut a promo for jack: Ultimate Warrior. That guy was just nutty and made no sense.
@DocLeggz Yeah, but despite being awful, the Warrior just had something about him that made everyone mark for him, a bit like Goldberg. Nobody could understand what the fuck he was saying, but they all wanted to be his "Wah-yaaahs". It was probably the fact that he was coked up to the eyeballs.
@LostSpartan16 See man, I have to say I'm someone who was never big on Raven. Sure, his promos were full of clever stuff, like Jake Roberts' promos, but I didn't like his delivery - they always sounded to me like someone trying to be clever, instead of actually being clever. His character was brilliant, though, and it's a shame he never did better.
@endofsuffering83 Oh, yeah, it's impossible not to notice that. I still think, and will always think, that the best on the mic of all time is Naitch, so the Rock couldn't have picked a better one to emulate.
he did one in 94 or early 95 where he had a cardboard cut out of hogan it was in wcw and flair had lost a retirement match to hogan and he wanted back in the wcw it was by far his best ever promo wish i could find it wooooooooooooooo
Hey, I have a very special message to Cindy Margolis, you want a MAN?

To me Flair was always great on the Mic but Dusty was the man on the stick if you wheel :)
