The GMA 950 does not have ANY SUPPORT for pixel shaders or T&L even!

(Unlike it's predecessor the GMA 900)

So if your having Trouble with say This game, TRY forcing it to run in DX 6 or 7 mode at startup with the command

dxlevel- 70

or

dxlevel- 60

@kawaiifreak860 GMA 950 does have pixel shader 2 :P, but without T&L. Game works, but both high and low has frame spikes

I could play cs source when i first got my laptop SMOOTHLY, with high settings, after the first laptop crash, got it working on XP again, but cs source lagged like hell (half life 2 too), after the second crash, laptop went up to Windows 7, still on GMA 945, and i cant even play counter strike condition zero for 5 minutes until it becomes too laggy to play T_T, i dont know how to fix this shit T_T

Use 3D analyzer for 1 game

Got Rambooster

Got Gamebooster 2.1

Delete every unnecessary things on task manager.

Thats how i run games great even though i have a very gay ram :)

And dude i can run Far Cry on medium settings and no lag :)

GTA San Andreas runs great with 1024 x 800 and low (Low Medium High looks the same)

Worms reloaded plays perfect on very high without motion blur

Just Cause plays at almost no lag (All Low) using 3D Analyzer

@NathanIsDOWN Low has almost no shadows. Medium has car and item shadows, and high has player shadows. Thats pretty much what i;ve noticed.

I have an 1.66Ghz Intel Dual Core 2GB or RAM running Windows vista on a GMA950 with the Sans Alpha 1 driver it runs great.....however when I'm on the hovercraft and I'm shooting at a tank....or a gunship it crashes. Not sure of a way around it.

2.) It's on the motherboard, GMA 950s are really crappy, so I wouldn't recommend getting one.

3.) Not on Direct X 8 and medium graphics. (On my laptop.)

I cant asses what performance you would get with that specification but I believe the game will run smoothly, I suggest you to check the game yourself

More or less. Half Life 2: Episode 2 runs well enough, with the odd fps drop in expansive scenes.

It'll never be rocksteady smooth frames, but it'll be playable.

And I hear original Half Life 2 actually runs well with high settings..

1.86ghz cpu, 2gb ram & GMA945 (Driver modified by 9XX gaming).

I can play css, tf2, dod:s quite smoothly.

But problem comes if i play hl2.

It stops response when gman is talking at the start.

then start the game and write in console : map (mapname that is after the gman talking)

By the way, I've been trying to run source games on a similar laptop. I didn't have much success until I used 'Mad_Beast's' custom drivers, and I used snd_async_fullyasync 1 to help get rid of the stuttering. I'd really recommend trying these out.

dude...enter your bios...there you will have options to run yout chipset to a maximum graphic memory...i don't know if it works on laptop...it works on my pc....i have 224mb graphic memory after i adjust it to the maximum...

this game works great with no mods, except maybe "-dxlevel 80" and it looks exactly the same. it works even on higher settings.

@zimbloggy Thnx for the info, I was getting bsod and "stopped responding" crap from Vista trying to run the HL2 demo but after adding the -dxlevel 80 to target line it stopped crashing during gman's lines and worked fine at lowest settings.

Except when I got to the Ravenholm chapter I'm getting horrible 3-10 FPS. Anyone know what else I can do? Are these "modded" drivers for the intel gma 950 and do they screw up other games?
