Nice video; I flew the Concorde simulator last year at Brooklands with a group of former Concorde pilots including Mike Bannister. It was a great evening; just a pity I never experienced a real flight in this wonderful aircraft. I believe Gordon you were working the computer on the simulator that day.
4.03 +It amazes me why the people on this, and other experiences like this, still have a face like a smacked arse. Why are they not enjoying it? It doesn't get much better!
Fantastic video=) Wish I had the chance to experience supersonic travel. However I was able to go to Edinburgh airport on the last day of operations to see the very last Concorde takeoff from Scotland. Many emotional people there that day=) I remember it like it was yesterday.
@TonyFirelli the concorde was a great plane. but the TU-144 was a shit plane. it would have been more reliable if it was stuck together with sellotape instead of rivets.
@TonyFirelli haha loll. well i know that a wing tore apart at Paris air show and i know that another crashed because of a fuel leak. And know that it was taken out of commercial service (in commercial service for just 2 years) because of severe design deficiencies. So i would call that a disaster of a plane. I know they rushed the design to beat Concorde into the air. That's the only thing it achieved and hence why it had severe design flaws.
@teemas10 Well your spelling shows low education... Other than that, The only problem the Tu-144 suffered were engines other then that it was a perfect plane like a concorde. and the crash at Paris has high possibility of a sabotage, many agreed.
@TonyFirelli Early flights in scheduled service indicated the Tu-144S was extremely unreliable. During 102 flights and 181 hours of scheduled freight and passenger flight time, the Tu-144S suffered at least 226 failures, 80 of them in flight.
Taken from Wikipedia. Does the TU-144 seem such a "great" plane now?
@HotChilliSquirrel Well if you got that from Wiki.. Hah, my friend got banned from there because they didn't like the real truth he put up there, and they removed what they didn't like.
@TonyFirelli No. The Tu was never fit for service. This Concorde invention served her lifespan, transporting humans, in leisurewear, at enormous altitudes, with complete ease. The Russians never came close.
You've actually flown on BOAG? You are indeed a very lucky man. That aircraft is here in Seattle at the Museum of Flight. I went to see it for the first time two months ago and tears filled my eyes when I stepped on board. It had been a dream of mine to fly Concorde to LHR (744 on the return).
What I hope happens is the same thing that happened with the Vulcan, in a couple of years somebody manages to scrape up the money needed to renevate the Concorde so that everyone can hear it just one more time, that for me would be a true dream come true
If they dont bring the concorde back they should remodel other older aircraft to make a supersonic 1 like the concorde i mean at this day and age with all of our technology it should be possible right?
you were lucky enough to fly on this bird! I remember in 1980 around that time, Concorde came to Oakland, Ca and sold tickets for 800 dollars. I missed it because I did not look in the newpaper until the next few days:( Very good vlogs! Hopefully one day concorde will come back, who knows:) Thanks for sharing with me!
Just wanted to say that I toured this exact Concorde you flew on. Wish I could have rode her. Saved up for the tickets and was $1,000 shy when they retired her.
What classes were on board? I didn't know there was a first class if so.

lordlozz1 2 years ago 2
No.
Concorde cost billions to develop - that was a 60's and 70's figure, so inflation will have done it's work since then.
£23 Million was per aircraft, and once again, this was a 70's figure, so it would be around £80 Million each today.

No. It's very easy to just type 'last flight of Concorde' in google rather than ask here, I just can't see why some people don't do it.
It's spelt with an 'e', also.
