  • Very interesting!

  • thats what i call a nice full body burn....wow....great job guys....!

  • How the f*** did he get away with that?

  • what the hell how they do that with out him getting burnt or even being killed

  • @Samuel115s flame retarded suit and fullfaced eyeless mask. i also presume the used this flame retardent gel i saw a demo of it on a stargate dvd i think. either way for most if not all of the stunt the flame never came in direct contact with the stuntman.

  • I clapped at the end :D he is awesome

  • What is burned at the steak mean?

Is it mean you are burned until you resemble steak?

  • die ammis sind doch verrückt -.-'

  • It is shocking on film, so I can imagine how shocking in person. Thanks for posting it. I work in the industry but I intentionally stay away from the set.

I am a devout BBC fan from Los Angeles.

  • With today's technology, I have to wonder why we can't have animated figures doing these dangerous stunts.

  • @TVWriterGuy BBC budgets I suppose. I also don't think you would get the same response from the crowd because seeing that happening in front of your eyes was very shocking.

  • What was your role in the filming?

  • @titnut4 My son was in this scene as one of the peasants and the stuntman asked me to video his scene. In the series I was one of the Queens soldiers and a Londoner giving verbal abuse at two of the beheadings.

  • @d1rksmith nice

  • @tzepesh20 A horrendous, agonizing way to die.

  • This was intense and yet really cool to watch. I was really worried for him.

  • @tzepesh20 also consideing the fact that they were like 90% of the time innocent

  • lucky

  • dude....

  • @ilovegoogle11 yes it was for a television 4 part drama on the BBC about Queen Elizabeth 1 called The Virgin Queen.

  • creepy scene.

  • This is what the republicans want to do to atheists.

  • not me.

  • @ch1aka2 And I dont blame them...

  • Did he died? lol

  • Milchani

You are truley a dumbass. Of course its fake. Its obviously for a movie or something. How dumb can you get

  • I think our friend Milchani was being ironic

  • didnt you know we totally still burn people at the stake lol

  • 'What did you do today?'

'I was burnt at the stake'

  • HOLY SHIT THAT LOOKS REAL

  • this is so fake! i can totaly see the firemen!!!

  • wtf. o.o

well obviously there are firemen there incase. what if something happened to spread the fire. do you think they'd let it burn the whole bloody set down? no.

    common sense.

  • Duh. They take every precaution on set. And you don't actually imagine that they left the firemen in for the actual show, do you?

  • hi milchani

i though we were supposed to see the firemen.. it was the filming of how the stunt was carried out, not the way that it was intended to appear in the final edit. same as car stunts have first aiders and firemen - just in case it goes wrong. or have i totally missed the point of your statement ?

    good wishes

    robbie

  • They didn't show them in the actual frame for the original tv show cut you idiot

  • Ha ha your a funny dude

  • How did they protect his face ?

  • The stuntman is actually wearing a fireproof mould of the actors face and has bandages wrapped underneath. When he leaps off at the end he cannot see what he is leaping to as his eyes are fully protected. There were several rehearsals before they lit the fires so he could gauge the distance to jump correctly.

  • Wow major props for the stuntman!!!!!!

  • I know!! and they did it for entertainment. isnt that terrible!?

  • No, it wasn't for entertainment at all. It was believed that burning purged the devil from the body, so that the soul would go to heaven pure. As perverse as it sounds, they actually believed that they were helping the victim. Of course, there was also an element of retribution involved. But it wasn't the same as a public hanging - it was far more a religious event.

  • holy shet omg!!!!! I didn't know they actually had the fire on them for real!!

  • o m g, when i watch horror movies i'm not bothered because i know they're not real but it's movies that show what happened in the past, things that actually happened that really makes me feel sick.

  • HOLY CRAP HE...HAS...BALLS

  • That guy has got balls. He deserves a hell lot of money!

  • deserves? he would of been paid a fucking HUGE amount!!!

  • Was this for the show The Tudors? This looks a lot like the burning scene from one of the episodes..im not sure tho...lol

  • This was filmed for 'The Virgin Queen'. I never watched the Tudors so they may very well have re-used this scene again.

  • it was not as bad as it seemed as people Suffocated from the lack of oxygen. they would know little of what was going on.

  • Actually depending on the crime or executioner, they would use dry hard wood that wouln´t produce much smoke, therefore literally burning the victim alive.

  • Jesus Christ, that guy's amazing.

    he deserves more money.

  • WOAH!! That looks very scary! (O_O)

No matter how much I would get paid for going through an act like that, I would never dare to do it. Feel sorry for all those people who has gone through that for real, though. And I'm glad that guy didn't get hurt.

  • holy fuck... hero

  • give this man a raise!

  • What do they use to protect him from the fire? is it a jelly? And what kind of pay would he get?

  • The stuntman is actually wearing a fireproof mould of the actors face and has bandages wrapped underneath. When he leaps off at the end he cannot see what he is leaping to as his eyes are fully protected. There were several rehearsals before they lit the fires so he could gauge the distance to jump correctly. How much does he get paid? Not enough!! You wouldn't get me doing it for sure. It was scary enough videoing it.

  • What is used to stop any harm coming to the stunt man, is it a jelly?

  • Wow, that was insane! Thats dedication to acting! You dont get actors like that around here

  • i have to admit i was absolutely shocked when i saw this video. frickin AWESOME!!!

  • a hot stake is better than a cold chop..

  • I would rather be shot I think.

  • ouch

  • what movie was that?

  • 'The Virgin Queen' television series BBC

  • Yes, the Elizabethan era was a time of anti-Catholic sentiment, so they loved burning the "Romish" priests at the stake. By the way, what was your role in the series?

  • Before Elizabeth it were the Protestants who end up on the burning stake.

  • Catholics and Protestants have been burning and killing each other for ages. Who got the worst of it just depended on who was in power.

  • Funny Girl!

  • is he dead

  • no just stupid

  • Haha, amen to that!

  • What a retard...

  • I agree, most excellent mate

  • Well done is a weak expression for

    this fiery and impressive stunt!
