  • Jack rocks. Really, he should be held up as a hero. He just wanted people to be happy and healthy and lived as he taught.

  • my comment got cut out, what the hell is going on here ?!

  • If it tastes good, spit it out.

  • As I watched this I paused to go grab a bag of M&M's, lol

  • I like his saying `If man made it don't eat it '

  • He thought it was bad then... woah!

  • I've seen these videos many times. I watch them every once in a while for inspiration :) thanks Jack!

  • The saddest part of his death is that it could've been completely avoided if he went to the doctor and got some anti-biotics.

  • RIP Jack.

As much as I like Bruce Lee. Jack was the better man cause he actually lived a near century.

  • I just got done eating a small bag of M&M cookies...wish I would of seen this video earlier.

  • RIP Jack. :( Miss ya friend.

  • ill do it jack.

  • he's the real deal

  • Damn I miss this guy. I really do wish he lived forever.

  • Jack was the best. I remember watching him with my mom when I was a wee little thing. This bit of footage is great! People have known for a long time that refined sugars are evil, but do the masses listen? I guess not.

  • So I've just spent 5 days without having anything of the things he listed. I have to say it's pretty cool not to eat cookies between meals all the time. Jack really is an inspiration!

  • Don't be a sugar!

  • just for you jack im gonna try to not eat sugar for 5 days

  • Even worse than white sugar, are the other more modern sweeteners like High Fructose Corn Syrup and synthetics like aspartame...

  • @idalinodasilva HFCS wasn't being used yet when he filmed this bit. If Jack were here today I'm sure he'd have something to say about HFCS. ;-)

  • He was awesome!!! Such a genius who knew and advertised these things wayyy before they became mainstream.

  • Jack would be proud of me, I haven't had any of the things on the list in months. I drank some soda last week, but as far as everything else goes I can't even remember the last time I put any of that in my body

  • @ghostsam24 Good work!

  • Most of the Nutrionalists today are full of crap. They complicate the simplest things just so they can confuse people and make more money.

But here, this is the 50s. Being a nutrionalist wasnt a job, this man gives more simple and helpful advices than 50 nutritionalists would do combined, today.

  • wait a minute, sugar makes us fat.....? He was right! You maniac! You blew it all up! Damn you! Damn you all to hell!!! *sobs hysterically*

  • @BlueRainDrop

    lmao

  • It's his suggestion and tone in the last minute of the video that marks him as a true inspirational genius. I've never before heard someone explain so well why something should be tried. And I have been and felt a lot healthier since I took his suggestion. R.I.P. Jack.

  • i admit im a sugarholic..!!!....

  • "pastrys"

  • RIP - Your my new hero and idol

  • The legend will always live through us. Lets live a healthy, active life.

  • @beactivelife the real legend is spongebob

  • DONT BE A SUGAR

  • I think it's fairly obvious now: if Jack said it, you can take it to the fucking bank.

  • @beautifulsarah100 to this day, most school lunch programs r crap, due 2 education cuts, they r "forced" 2 accept $ from fast food & soft drink industries.kids then get hyper & develop so called "learing disabilities",& get put on kiddie speed, otherwise known as riatlin,& other crap.we've taken away phys ed, which boys need more in general than girls.unfortunately, women are not sympathetic to this. boys& girls learn differently.

  • I thought he was going to say "shit" at 1:00.

  • @bboygiggles Jack had too much class and respect for fellow human souls to utter a nihilistic or scatalogical word. He incarnated positivity, with integrity for 80 years. A beacon role model!

  • RIP Jack, he was such an inspiration to us all

  • them high-waisted cigarette pants are just too sexy ... can someone please bring them back into fashion again !!

  • The man never touched sugar and died. How does that happen? He should've cruised to 105.

  • @incrediblehulkmovies don't forget though he was a sugar addict till he was 15 and heard Paul Bragg speak on health and nutrition. So maybe that shaved 10 yeas of his life ...who knows (look it up on his website)

  • @midnightaria He died of pneumonia

  • @TirnanUFC i know

  • Jack might have been ahead of his time but there is more obesity in America than there was back in the 1960s and a lot of that is from sugar, just eat veggies, easier to say than do.

  • Just discovered Jack Lalanne and his videos just blown away and inspired by them.

  • He was a righteous dude.

  • Jack Lalanne is Chuck Norris's Father...

  • Jack LaLanne, brought fitness to the masses, right into their living rooms; in a fun energetic way that has never been duplicated. Words cannot describe how thankful I am for his inspiration when I was a young, out-of-shape kid wanting to be better and for him blazing the trail for me to do for others, exactly what he did for me. Goodbye Jack. I will try my best to live up to the example you set. Believe me, there will never be another. Jack was it.

  • amen brother ...RIP......timeless advice even more pertinent today

  • rip. you were way ahead of your time

  • He said stuff in a simple and straightforward way, trying to show people how easy is actually is to be fit. He was a living legend, now he's just a legend, but his legacy isnt dead at all.

  • Jack, was first exposure to I had to value of fitness and is a one of kind american original. Future generations can benefit from his work

  • R.I.P. Jack LaLanne! This country has learned so much from him, and I'm sure his methods will continue to be used long after his death. I just read this article about him and thought other fans might be interested: nymag.com/daily/intel/2011/01/jack_lalanne_will_shame_you_wi.html

  • God rest his soul!

  • So so true, Jack!!!

  • this guy was the truth...

  • If only the government and medical establishment would have listened to Jack...the obesity epidemic, hypertension, and type 2 diabetes would not be the problem they are...and health care wouldn't be such an expensive issue.

    Rest his soul!

  • @swangardian I totally agree with you man. Jack was living proof of what true honest hard work is and what the benefits are.

  • i remember his commercials form the 70s - man but this early stuff is great, this guy is freakin superman. Thank you Jack!!!! Rest in Peace, but who'm i kidding you're not gonna rest up there in heaven. Take care and thanks for the inspiration

  • RIP Jack

  • Who needs PowerPoint?!? Jack rocks the chalkboard !!! As another wrote, "you were right, you have always been right". I agree!!

  • Incredibly ahead of his time. He led the way for all of us.

  • RIP Jack, you were right, you've always been right.

  • @Mightymoe777 Amen to that!

  • @Mightymoe777 And you're dead now. How the fuck are we supposed to trust you then? :)

  • Anymore sugar is like a health food compared to HFCS. Some foods and drinks boast of their sugar content and having no HFCS.

  • now heaven is going to get in shape

  • i loved him since i was a little girl. my grandma exercised to him and my mom too.

  • What is more important: PowerPoint or a strong desire to get your point straight?

    PS: RIP Jack.

  • Rest in peace, Jack. You are an inspiration to many.

  • Thanks Jack

  • This Guy is a genius!!!

  • RIP Jack.

  • RIP Jack.

  • A lot of people with poor diet and exercise used to dismiss Jack LaLanne as a fanatic or extremist, one of "those health food nuts". They laughed at vegetarians as far-out hippie weirdos. Hospitals, nursing homes and of course cemeteries are loaded with people like that. Pneumonia, which he died of suddenly, is actually one of the most painless ways to go, so I hope I am that fortunate.

  • Dear Jack, may you put the angels to shame. Rest In Peace

  • One of the toughest problems is the endless sugary traditions on major holidays, birthdays, weddings, office parties, daily doughnut deliveries, etc. These traditions will die hard, but sugarholics often die hard too at an early age.

  • Love you Jack.....thanks for the inspiration.

  • LOVE YOU!! Heaven is fitter now!

  • RIP Jack. You juice goes on...

  • R.I.P Jack

  • RIP Jack! You did so much for so many people and you are/were such a special person. have fun in heaven

  • Gloria Swanson, who lived into her 80s and kept her looks too, was another fanatic anti-white-sugar preacher.

Makes you pause and think. Hard to get away from the sugar though, wow.

  • R.I.P. Jack

  • This man called it like it was. Today his words would be called discriminatory and hostile. Today's kids are fat asses!!!

  • Sugarholics is an expired term. Being a Sugarholic is 1000000x better than what a majority of Americans are... HighFructoseCornSyrupholics, that shit is in everything and its so much worse for you then refined white sugar.

  • Thank you Jack, You're right! God Bless You !!! Thanks for the great memory's!

  • The biggest man in the world, who should've lived to 130 just left us today. This sucks.

  • He died this afternoon. Godspeed Jack.

  • It's so great to see these & as relevant today as then. He was so ahead of his time.

  • the guy at the end was gonna kill her for not putting enough sugar in the baby milk

  • jack reminds me of robin williams with how fast he talks as his pep.

  • I agree with this. No truer word have been said. I have this condition. SUGAR is fucking evil. I feel like a heroin addict. I wish I could stop. WHen I detox, I get bad migraines for days. I wish I could get some help.

  • 1:46 "the cereal manufacturers demoralize the cereal and add sugar on it"

  • @upcycle Demineralize is what he said. They over process the flour and remove the minerals from the flour. Jack was always big on avoiding processed foods.

  • @DaleStiles thanks for clarification.

  • I stop eating sugar for a while I lost a lot of fat, before I was getting bald I got my hair back so I trust him.

  • @echozgus AWESOME! I had similar experience.

  • @echozgus you got your hair back?!!! If you saw me, you'd know why I'm so excited and surprised.

  • @DaleStiles well the pores of my body were blocked by sugar fat I think, some pimples disappeared too :D

  • i love my hersheys sundae pie

  • what year was this clip filmed?

  • scientific evidence supports Jack's observations of how people that consume "fructose" is an energy depleter and causes the person to become lethargic.

  • What's with that rapey-looking guy sneaking up on that woman at the end?

  • @sakshena lol! i was wondering the same wtf

  • @sakshena He must be the sugarholic that Jack was talking about.

  • @sakshena Both people are wearing jack Lalanne t-shirts. I think they might be TV crew people from his informercials, and are just very tired. Anyone who has worked on film & TV productions does very long hours. Good diet & exercise are the only way I have survived the 60 to 90 hour work weeks in the film industry. Boycott corn sugar, aka high-fructose corn syrup.

  • @sakshena just wanted to point that out, wtf...

  • @sakshena

    haha - looks like a porn intro.^^

  • THEY LOOK LIKE SUGAR!!! hahahahahahahaha

  • I've heard that the human body is designed to live to 113 yrs. old IF YOU DON"T ABUSE IT. Jack Lalanne is 96 and still going strong. He's a wonderful, living example that this is true!

  • My two idols are Jack Lalanne and Carl Sagan. How sad is it that we no longer have such role models advocating in the media for string healthy bodies and minds?

  • @Ryansax1983 Jack Lalanne's still alive, dude.

  • 3 Fatass Kids who drink Soda all day disliked the video.

  • @dooooooer good one! xD

  • lol what the heck was that at the very end?

  • Sugar is a killer. It is addicting and has all the side effects of poison. Diabetes was not a problem 200 years ago. It was not a national epidemic like it is today because sugar was so costly and so special back then, it was used very little and with some conservation. I'm so glad that Jack continues to tell the world about the damages of it and continues to be the best inspiration for the world. He is and always shall be amazing!

  • Don't watch your heroes, be a hero!

  • but im 13 only and i can also do one arm push ups for many reps at 202lbs solid 6'4" dope free. :) :P

  • @13andincrediblycut OMG age 202 pound?

  • @dooooooer I'm 6'4" and all muscle mass. :P

  • @13andincrediblycut yep that due to Steroids or Protein Shakes or some kind of Drug unlike him .......he has all natural body no protein shakes :P

  • @13andincrediblycut you really are a great bullshitter....

  • (y) sooooo true;)

but not only in "this country pointing to US" but this is exactly like this in everywhere sadly :(

  • They really should show this guy in schools, I wish with all my heart my parents would listen to people like this but they just make excuses and even get violently defensive when I try to help them.

  • They should show this in schools. Hell, they should make a primetime special out of this.

  • Wow! I'm blown away..........completely ahead of his time! What an amazing individual!

  • You tell 'em Jack

  • Jack is the man.

  • im 13 weigh 200lbs at 6'4" lean and solid muscle and i can climb a rope with no arm no legs assist

  • @13andincrediblycut DWLLWGAF???

  • Yes jack is a real inspiration but actually the man who started all this style of healthy life and development of strengh was no other than Charles Atlas

  • @xXxstunner Jack's mentor was Paul Bragg, as he met him when he was 15 in Oakland, Calif. Jack was a sickly child and his mother took him to here Bragg speak about health.

  • A blackboard...Was that where Glenn Beck learned to teach? Good lesson Jack!

  • JAAAAACCKKK

  • Look at how huge he is & this was in the 30's before the invetion of steriods......fuck Arnold

  • Fantastic guy,I can feel his magic n message hitting me through the screen, magic !!!.Blessings XX

  • whats up with that creepy guy at the end?

  • @miamigroove that is his son.

  • A profet still among us.

  • ..I like how he calls me student. lol

  • When was this. The early 60s?

I know exactly what Jack is talking about. He is so right but we're more sugared up than ever and we have a diabetes/obesity epidemic.

    Refined sugar is a poison.

  • @capricious71 mid fifties

  • excellent

  • Thank you so much for all these videos of Lalanne, swaldo2000. :)

  • this works i felt a difference the very next day, more energy and i feel calm not irritable.

  • jack la lanne is amazing. ahead of his time with this information. some people are still ignorant to this basic information. i've known it for a while but just recently instituted it into my (hopefully permanent) diet, and within a month and a half lost fifteen pounds, stopped needing naps, and all my energy has made me as intense in my thought process as jack is in this video. sugar is poison!

  • i am so glad i'm in my mid 20. i have the knowlegde and the power from jack i will use it to my advance also helping other people also. but why is it that people like celebrity like mike tyson, football players, etc, they exercise and get fit too. how come they don't look as happy as jack la lane and other fitness instructor? i myself is a diabetes and exercise save my life along with good nutrition that mean so much to me already. some people exercise and they don't feel the effect, but i do!

  • Great Advice

  • This guy's awesome

  • he was even ahead of Dr Adkins...whom I totally agree with...Jack was onto the low carb diet which works...and I didn't say NO CARB...low carb.

  • who are those folks at the last few frames of the clip?

  • good guy

  • FUCK YEAH!

  • I'm 31 years old and jack lalanne will always be my fitness idol.he is america's

    fitness manly man.most bostonians today

are sugarholic losers that's the reason why that most bostonians are fat and out of shape.real manly men like him don't eat sugarholic shit everyday.

  • jack lalanne will always be the godfather

of fitness.jack will always be the man.

jack lalanne tell the godly turth about

    sugarholics in america today.sugarholics

are extream losers.eat fresh fruits from god.

  • "THEY LOOK SOFT AND "WEAK!"

  • NO! not the Jam!!!! I mustn't discontinue eating my Jam! please no?

  • This guy is really just incredible!!

Great stuff - so ahead of times!

  • Arnold Scw(whats his name) is overweight and out of shape today (look it up). Jack is still fit at 95.

  • You've got to love this guy. I remember in the 1950's he used to carry me around on his biceps while my mom worked out in his gym in Oakland, CA

  • If this show would be now on tv on exactly this format I bet it will turn in an automatic hit for the channel that broadcasts it.Very refreashing to watch this man.

  • ...Eat your vegtables and a small amount of high quality proteen

Jack is so right...limit consumption of white sugar

  • don't be a sugar what?

  • Lalanne at healthy all his life man...he knew the health benefits of fish, nuts, fruits and vegetables and he added a variety in his diet everyday, and exercised...he's also a great teacher and what I like about him is that he motivates you to eat healthy, to stop being tired.

Jack Lalanne was ahead of his time, and millions and millions of people are still not respecting their body...I hope that Jack Lalanne in the future can go on TV and tell America to stop eating crappy food.

  • This guy and steve reeves are awesome!

  • screw arnold, this man is the key to true health and fitness

  • Well I respect Arnold too. But I agree Lalanne has always been very healthy.

  • @SpankingDmonkey Seriously. Arnold was never big on health, just body composition.

  • He's 95 now. Holy crap.

Supposedly, the only meat he'll eat is fresh salmon.

  • In a world where we are used to instant everything, its sad that people will resort to "magic" pills or fad diets to try to be healthy. Jack Lalaane is a great great man, who helped revolutionize fitness. I wish more people would stop and listen to what he has to say.

  • I am gonna do the 5 day challenge!

  • Man was well ahead of his time. Vince Gironda aswell. The doctors still haven't come to grips with many of the things these guys had figured out back in the day.

  • This is even more relevant today.

  • A man well before the times.
