Viet vo dao is not all that old. i did a marts odyssey show about it which will be airing in 2008. definitely Khmer art IS NOT based on Vietnamese art. the vietnamese Viet Vo Dao and Vo Vinam looks like korean martial arts with some moves from kick boxing which probably came from Cambodia and lao. Vo Vienam is only about 80 years old. Viet Vo dao is abuot 600 years old.

while we can objectively agree that Bokator and Vo Viet Dao is two seperate art, historical statements like when a this/that country exist should be not be used unless you are history professor. True, modern day Vietnam wasn't till recently, but at time of Angkor they do have a Dai Viet country, which were took its independence from China not too long at that time. VVDao is a combination of art developed in the 30s.

Most of this information got ripped off from my Kru, Kru Ouer Ny is a master of Khmer Boran and his philosophies were mentioned here, if you check san kim seans previous interviews he never mentions anything of the 4 elements...tah prohm...

Every martial art in the world talks about the four elements. your master didnt invent that concept and neither did mine. so many of these comments would be unnecesary if people would just sit down and read a book of khmer history and a book of martial arts history. also, if your master and mine never met, how could my master rip yuor guy off? another thing is we ar etrying to preserve the art, NOT FIGHT with other khmers. if you want to save the art, film your master and help him write a book.

really bad kung fu movie! the worst kung fu movie ever made is Buffalo Protecting Child, starring Eh Phou Thoung and Me. i almost walked out when i watched it in the cinema. but we are learning, and we will do better next time. The Histoy Channel shows were well-done.

LOL i understand how you feel. yea im sure you guys will do better next time. if only hollywood could take the storyline and make a movie out of it, lets say movies like Gladiator or Braveheart that would be great. not just the martial art of Bokator but the Khmer Empire in general. that's really far fetched but an idea worth bringing up to the directors in hollywood eh?

Man that will be an awesome idea. An epic movie like gladiators but with the khmer empire. They have everything for a box office movie. You have rich history for tons of ideas.

Viet vo dao is not all that old. i did a marts odyssey show about it which will be airing in 2008. definitely Khmer art IS NOT based on Vietnamese art. the vietnamese Viet Vo Dao and Vo Vinam looks like korean martial arts with some moves from kick boxing which probably came from Cambodia and lao. Vo Vienam is only about 80 years old. Viet Vo dao is abuot 600 years old.
