Where do WE go from here? Our government of, for and by the people is over. The vast majority of our reps are in it for self-interest. The people (doesn't matter which party) are only a means to an end.
The way forward, I guess, is for the people to shake up the current political establishment en masse. Mass protests or a large scale shift in voting are things that can swing influence back in our favour.

What socialist policies? Most of his "policies" haven't even been implemented because of a combination of incompetence on the Dem side and obstructionism on the Rep side. Australia, there are the Commonwealth bank, NAB, Westpac and ANZ. Four big banks, and a few small ones, all well regulated (not too heavy, sensible regulation) and the only times that a bank has gone under are the times when... THEY DID MERCHANT BANKING, like the State Bank of Victoria did. THIS is the reason why commercial banks should not be allowed to do merchant banking. Because they are risking the ECONOMY when they do so.

So in an attempt to overcome the arrogant aristocracy that has ruled monarchies in the Old World, the American Constitution has enabled (by accident rather than design) a New World arrogant aristocracy of Corporations and corrupted politicians for the purpose of fleecing the people, subverting the people, and enslaving them except where they are ignored because of the extreme poverty.
Is that somewhere near it?

Cenk is acknowledging that the current political system is fundamentally opposed to the interests of the people; that behind a facade of rhetoric & false expectations there lies a cynical system that is self serving above all else.
At the moment, he's stuck supporting a party that refuses to represent its base. What's more, he's paralysed, because the candidate the grassroots carried to the top is now acquiescing to that same self-serving political system.
Where does Cenk go from here?

Where do WE go from here? Our government of, for and by the people is over. The vast majority of our reps are in it for self-interest. The people (doesn't matter which party) are only a means to an end.

The way forward, I guess, is for the people to shake up the current political establishment en masse. Mass protests or a large scale shift in voting are things that can swing influence back in our favour.
The corporations have a vice-grip on American democracy - and it's clearly going to take popular upheavel (hopefully peaceful) to break it.

Which is why I wonder where Cenk can go from here... because if he stays where he is, he'll just end up a bitter critic, sitting impotently in the crowd, while the same tired farce keeps repeating itself.

It is all really depressing. I am almost convinced that the only way to make world a better place is to be dictator and force people do right thing. Then you end do horrible things to enforce it, then in the end what is the point. Guess there is no point, I hate losing battles.

Any popular movement will be met by the same resistance that we're seeing now. It will also contain implants from the real controling powers to impose chaos from within, that is if such a movement can successfuly form and organize.
Corporations maintain governance through elite decision and public ratification via media control.

Luntz wants the GOP to fool conservatives the same way Democrats tricked the liberals. Both pretend to be agents of change while secretly working for the special interest groups. Meanwhile the people argue that Repugs are dumb or that Demcraps are weak when in fact it is the average voter that is dumb and weak.
