This version of the show is just so passionate. You can really feel the struggle and duality with Judas, Jesus, and especially Pilate. Eager to see the 2012 version.

I agree, Pilate's voice is especially amazing, and contrasts perfectly with Jesus- reflecting their opposing personalities. Yet Pilate is clearly sympathetic for his smaller foe. Its all in their voices and the actual performances deliver equally as well.

It sounds to me like the actor playing Caiaphas had trouble with one or two of the low notes, as if they're at the very bottom of his register...his pitch is ever so slightly off in two or three places. For the most part, however, he does an extraordinarily good job for someone who I'm inclined to suspect is primarily a baritone singing a part written for a bass (especially since he's been singing some sections of his part in a baritone voice).

I feel more passion for this pilate as he keeps flinching once he actually looks at jesus and is crying to jesus to find out what to do, reminds me alot of why I also enjoyed judas in this movie, when he wept onto jesus shoulder after selling him out.

However this is still nothing to the original.

The first JCSS is excellent it is hard to compeate against some one that was born for that role.

oh by the way the only actor of this version I like more than the originals is Pilates! :D Isn't he wonderful?
