Yes, you can. If your T9 is set up for first strike, you will only be able to load FS rounds into the magazine. You can rotate the barrel to switch from the mag, to the hopper/longbow mag. However, when you twist, there is already a ball loaded, so it won't change until AFTER that shot....if that makes sense.
@1974PeaceMaker its important to remember the base of the t9 is a pistol. just as with all pistols the t9 is a little rough on the paint. it ideal to use a rough paint that can take abuse, meaning you'll want to stay away from the high performance. Also many brakes in the t9 are often related to mi care of the firing bolt. with that said i barely ever get brakes in my marker you just need to realize the function and workings of the gun.
I would do that, but I no longer have the marker. It's pretty easy to load. Pull the springload piece down and lock. Press down on the switch that holds the balls in, then load 20 paintballs in.
Just an update on the status of this marker... It has been sold. So please, no messages about asking to buy parts off it or the marker itself. I can't sell what I don't own.
the lapco barrel really helps. after i got mine the thing never broke another ball. so if you have a t9 i would highly recommend getting that :P also it shoots so much more accurate now
hey when you shoot using the 12g's does the 12g container run out during the 20 balls in the clip and in the 8 in the pistol clip or do u have to switch in between or does it last that or more i dont know can u help me find this out
The 12 gram allows you to shoot all 28 balls (20 in longbow mag, 8 in the T9 mag). Usually, there is no drop-off in velocity. I'm usually able to fire 4 T9 mags off one 12 gram.
Yes, you could convert the marker to HPA; there's two options that I know of. First, of course, the T9 does come with a constant air adapter, which can be used with a remote line. It just replaces the bottom screw that holds in the 12gram, and it a metal tube. Second, Lapco does make an adapter that replaces the bottom part of the magazine, that allows you to actually screw in an HPA tank.
It does not take the First Strike paintballs. The T9 requires the conversion kit in order to allow the marker to fire them. The changes that come with the kit are: magazines that have openings shaped for the FS rounds, the hole in the barrel is shaped to accept FS rounds, and a modified bolt that supposedly works better with FS rounds (but still will work for regular paintballs). I don't plan on getting the kit yet though. The Longbow system was not designed for the FS rounds, FYI.
Great job on the review i was a little skeptical when i first saw this too and still am looks like it could use little tweaking still can't till the 2nd generation comes out if they persue it (i hope they will) but a very ambitious design none the less no more bulk to carry around
also. while re-reviewing this, i have found and thought of a brand new idea. We all know of those guys who dance, out of range at any woodsball tourneys.
Say we have a mag for first strike rounds, and the longbow for the regular rounds. use the longbow for assault, and when someones out of range, switch it, and blast em with the new first strike rounds.
Sadly, no, I don't have any updates. I sold the longbow setup about a month or so. I personally enjoy pistol play more than "sniper" play. I still think it's the way the adapter is attached to the T9, and how there's a little play as far as the area a paintball can go before it's loaded into the breech. Play + Spring pressure = possibility of ball breaks.
If i buy the longbow ready marker off of specialops without the longbow mag system can that be stripped down any farther like into a pistol like the tac8 or is that as far as it goes?
As far as I know (since I don't work for Special Ops...) it looks like their "longbow ready" setup is like an Elite version of the T9, except I don't see a stock, sight riser, scope, laser, or bipod.
But from the pictures, it looks like it has the same front shroud as my T9 Elite, so it should be able to be broken down to the pistol form.
My longbow is currently pending sale. If it falls through, I will create a review. If it sells...it would not be appropriate to use it to make a review. :)
Yeah, I sold it. It really doesn't fit with my playing style/preferences. I prefer the mini-hopper, and just swapping mags with fresh 12grams when I run out of CO2. Eliminiates the need to twist the barrel.
i love my t9 the barrel is hard to match up paint with for sure i know they recomend marbelizer cuz there slightly bigger than 68 cal for me rate now i use a e hopper and it does make the marker way bigger but it helps when shooting fast i dnt recomend a gravety hopper cuz you gotta keep shaking it to keep the balls feedin i like the idea of a long bow for the t9 if you want to "snipe"(NO SNIPER FUDES NOW)& have it more mil sim but im happy with a remote line on my t9 with my eggy ty for review
Personally, I usually use a Brass Eagle pocket hopper with my T9. Rarely have to shake (and if I do, there's 1 ball ready to fire, and at least 3 in the feedneck adapter). As far as paint goes, I used to use Marballizer, until I kept getting bad bags of paint. Now I use Anarchy paint; the Nelsplat was for an electronic marker I have also.
ya i allmost got a pocket hopper untill i toticed my stock 200 round hopper would have the shaking problem i shoot maint left handed and have the gun tilted a bit so it tends to not gravety feed lol its silly but ither way i dont do much snipin as in sittin around waiting for a kill but i gotta say this marker is crazy acurate n love it to death t9 4 life
Do you see a lot of chops with the little hopper? I run the same setup, 50 rd hopper and usually get a break or two in the run of the day. Course I use Stinger field paint and IMPACT balls. unable to get Marballizer in my area.
To tell you the truth, I have only chopped a couple balls with the pocket hopper setup. Then again, I do not pull the trigger as fast as I can; I'm more picky with my shots. The one tme I chopped a ball was when I forgot to put the ball detents back on the barrel.
Thanks for the review. I beileve with practice that the mag feed would be nice because it does give you the eight extra shots. For that just in case moment that paintball gives you. Over all good review and might need to pick one up now for ambushing.

are there any paintballs that dont break in the barrel or are they all the same .
the gun looks cool, but if the balls keep breaking in the barrel it would seem a waste of money , do you have any advice

Spec Ops should take a tip from Tippmann, and include ATC ( Anti Chop Technology)
That might not be the problem, but it cant hurt.

could the t9 longbow mag possibly hook up to a tippmann 98?
TaylorJFrazier 3 years ago
sure, if you use a hacksaw and take off the feedneck, then just screw the magwell on top of the rail.
unnamedgrave 3 years ago
but the feedneck is on the side of the marker, will it still work?

yes because the magazine is spring loaded

Usually, 1 in the marker, 3 on my vest, with a 30 round pod in the last pouch. That's usually more CO2 than paint.
