  • my friend is gonna give me a 55gallon tank ,you think is good for 2 oscars??

  • your oscars havent devoured your danio's? :P how!?

  • @TheSnowDubz nope they never did. and idk why, they were pretty lazy i guess haha. there even was a feeder fish that they never ate. we ended up putting it in out pond where it lived for 2 years i think. actually was the only surviving fish when the pond froze when the heater didnt work. lost like 8 good sized koi :/

  • Nice set up! Not many people can pull off live plants with oscars, large ones at that. Also that Roman pillar thing looks really good covered in algae

  • @stewiegriffin65 thanks, that plants pretty hardy. i actually have a god amount of it left in my (now) 29 gallon cichlid tank. i cant believe its still going strong after all these years!

and i liked the pillars too haha

  • @pipi135 your welcome.... keeping plants with cichlids is near impossible, so I had to give ya some promps! lol

  • Nice tank, I like the Oscars. They get along with blugill huh? Might have to go to the lake lol.

  • I like the tank; yes there are certain math situations in these tanks but your tank is obviously very clean so I would not worry. There are trolls all over the place. I have a 100 gal with brackish water and this troll tried to be all smart with his dumbarz comments. The only thing he showed was his ability to be a dumb arz since my fish have lived in this tank for almost a year..... I hope you enjoy your tank like I enjoy mine.

  • oscars will be able to life their entire life in a 55 gal. im planning on getting a oscar and maybe 1 or 2 red eared sliders in a 55 gal for christmas. sure it may be too small kinda but hell live great and thatll take a couple years. by then ill be looking for a bigger tank.

  • @seeway01

I have had 2 Oscars in a 55 gallon for 3 months and they have already outgrown it. I am setting up a 150 gallon for them(will be done in the next week or so).

  • nice tank check out mines man

  • @:15 he has like camo paint lololol

  • they need a bigger tank

  • @CorbinDCreptiles ok so if ur going by the 'this many gallons per fish rule' does that mean id only be able to have 9 guppies in this tank, caus im pretty sure they need 10 gallons each and this is only a 90 gallon so 9 guppies... << thats in case your fucking stupid enough that you cant do 2nd grade math

and who you callin a bitch... bitch

  • @pipi135 god damn im trying to help you ignorant bitch !

its 2 gallon per inch of fish not ten dumb ass

  • @CorbinDCreptiles well i dont need a 10 year olds help

and i was assuming u were like th other retards that post comments like urs who seem to believe that they have a set # of gallons per fish(not inch). i believe its something like 55g per oscar, idk and i dont really care.

now i do agree with ur gallons per inch, but this rule means that the tank is under-stocked......heres the math for ya again, 10in + 8in +8in +4in+ 3in +2in +2in= 37 inches of fish x 2g = 74 gallons .............

  • @pipi135 im not 10 im 13 and have a low paying job and my boss in an ass whole...

    lol

  • @CorbinDCreptiles

Those are measurements for ignorant people who can't see that a fish needs a bigger tank. One Oscar WILL out grow a 55 gallon tank. It might take a matter of years but it will happen. A 17 inch fish needs A LOT of room. Like 100+gallons of water.

  • @1992pattrow no oscars will live in 55 gals.

  • @seeway01

I have 2 Oscars n a 55 gallon and they are to big for it. Once the fish has trouble turning in the tank it is time for a bigger tank.

  • @seeway01

    I bought them a 150 gallon(video will be up in a week or 2)

  • @pipi135 - Don't you just love it when you have a wonderful aquarium like yours, yet others are telling you all about the mistakes you're making? That really makes me laugh! What about you?

Take care and keep doing what you're doing - it works, the fish aren't attacking each other and it's beautiful! :)

  • @classiclistener01 i wouldnt go as far as wonderful but it was alright haha

    and it sure does :)

this tank was taken down over the winter and everything is gone, its not replaced by my dads 60g reef cube.

yaa they were always peaceful which was surprising hah

  • @pipi135 He was not trying to be rude. He was not trying to be a know it all either. He was defending the animals in the video. How would you like to be in a small glass box that didn't have very much space for you to live in for the rest of your life? I'm sure you would not. That being said, your tank is undersize, and your fish need much more space.

  • @classiclistener01 Haha yeah I agree totally with that!

  • @MikeDMays - Yeah! Ha-ha! That guy, "moofdebowl," said it well, too - "Lol Man, everyone's an expert on YouTube!" When I watch a YouTube video, and, all is well, I leave a compliment; not ways to improve on something that doesn't need fixing! This is, or, was, a beautiful aquarium until it was taken down. Many comments make me laugh, too! Take care, Man! :)

  • @pipi135 i got a 55g with 10 fish in it that r all 5 in and bigger and theire all happy.. .that gallon per inch rule only applys to newbies!!!

  • Three oscars need atleast a 150+ US gallon aquariam. I would say only 1 oscar would fit in there..

  • why have your oscars not eaten those danios?

  • @SPUD1880

they were peaceful fish haha. actually there was a feeder fish that they just wouldnt eat......it survived months in there and is now in our koi pond. hes about 7 inchs now haha and fat as hell

  • Noooooo they can die from wild fish

  • @oscarfishguy5

    whatever

  • @pipi135 wow your a bitch

  • I thought oscar just ripped apart plants, I have mine in a 30 gal (its still a baby), but I dont have any plants for that reason

  • @dlobom these ones never did, but that may be because the roots of the plants grew onto whatever they were on and were really hard to get off

  • Nice Oscars and setup man. 5/5

  • thanks.

too bad this tank is gone now. check out the 60 gallon that replaced it in my new vid

  • can have i have medium size oscar in a 36 gallon bow front tank???

  • Nah, most people say you need a 55 for one Oscar... But some people say 40 is enough for one Oscar. I say 55 is good for one IMO.

  • would a native pumpkinseed/or perch live with a oscar. could 55 work? or would it be impossible. WOuld 75 be better thanks!

  • I have a quick question. Do fish ever realize they are in a tank? Mine keep trying to find a way to "go beyond" the tank.

  • how big are your oscars

  • the three in the vid were probably 7, 8 and 10 inches at the time

  • nice tank

  • yes it would be ok

  • would it be okay to put a 12 inch oscar and a 12 inch catfish in a 55 gallon tank??

  • probably not the best idea, but do what u want.

    remember their not done growing

  • @africancichlidman get a 100 gallon tank or get a smaller catfish

  • ure oscars aint happy u need more flow

  • theres 2 jets and a powerhead

u dont like it, dont watch my vid

  • oscars dont look happy they need more flow

  • sweet tank i have 4 small oscars i cant wait til their big

  • ya theyre pretty cool. im gonna miss them when we get rid of them

but i cant wait to say hello to our 60g cube reef :D (its cycling right now)

  • your bluegill actually look a lot like green sunfish

  • wow, i thought those danios would be eaten by now haha, they're tiny!!!

  • how did you get three oscars to live together like that? dont the bigger oscars pick on the weaker one ?

  • how big r does dinos? i have 2 and they don't look anything close to dat size

  • nice tank and oscars wht are its demensions?

  • 48L x18D x22H

  • my oscar would eat those smaller fish

  • how can you keep a bluegill in there when they live in cold water ?

  • Nice tank kid. I am surprised to see such big fish living in a community setting. Blueguills are more agressive than some oscars.

  • I caught two SMALL bluegill for my buddy...and one killed the other one. He's a badass little fish.

  • how do you clean that

  • 3 oscars is kinda a lot for a 90 gallon tank, but still nice fish :)

  • thanks

but they are fine. and i have another one in there now

  • I recommend you rub the back glass with baby oil or vaseline and smooth it out to avoid the black bubbles on your background.

  • k, it doesnt bother me tho

  • YOU r not supposed to put wild fish with domemesticated fish because they can get very very sick.

  • well you should tell him that, because its been a few months.

  • lol man, everyones an expert on youtube.

  • @moofdebowl i hear ya! i cant tell you how many times i have ignored the whole gallon per inch of fish rule and had great results!

  • thats a nice set up! are all those plants real!??

  • thanks

yes they are all real. its all from one plant that i got about a year ago, what you see in the video is only 2/5 of the whole plant the rest was in my tank and most was cut off.

but now there is only 1/3 of the plant from video still in the tank (the oscars are growing and need the extra room) and only a little in my tank.

  • what kind of plants are those!

  • sorry i didnt say in my last reply.

    they are java fern

  • nice tank =) i was wondering if 2 oscars can live together in a 90gl(48Length x 18Deep x 25Height)?

  • yes 3 can live together in a 90g(48L x18D x22H)

  • lol thats same dimensions as my aquarium =P!

  • thats kool

  • hey i just got an oscar 3 weeks ago and he hasn't eaten any of his pellets so i fed him 3 feeder gold fish since i got him. All he does is kind of sulk all day long and when he does swim he goes crazy and bumps into his tank ad such. please help me

  • im no pro but it could be your water. i suggest getting it checked then performing the necesary actions. in my 37 gallon tank, my water was terrible but i got it checked and they said to do a 75% water change. it was extreme but it worked out great. my one cichlid that survived from four, hasnt eaten anything since i got it then the day after the change it ate normally.

    sorry if i didnt help.

  • thanks for the tip i'll try getting my water tested from petsmart.

  • Feeder gold fishes carry tons of diseases, they are not recommended to feed Oscars or any tropical fish for that matter. If you do decide to feed them feeders you must have a separate quarantine tank and must keep the feeders in it for at least a month to see if they are healthy either that or self raised ones. But I highly recommend you just steer away from them. Try meal worms or crickets, night crawlers, crayfish, krill.

BTW 3 Oscars require roughly around 150G-160G tank. NICE TANK THOUGH!

  • hey dude thanks for your help. my oscar is now eating his pellets. btw i was only feeding him feeders because he was taken his pellets so i was worried he would starve.

  • m4a1jason, i agree with everything you said, but these oscars do fine with their feeders, have never been sick. and i feed them brine shrimp too.

90g is small for 3 oscars that size but there were only 2 them my brother put his in and now there are the 3. they are doing fine though. i think they reached full size in this tank now

  • Just because they are not sick yet, doesn't mean they won't. Do what you think is best. But I notice I give a lot of advice on youtube and no one seems to want to take it. Your fish do what you want. Just do some research and just take a minute to decide if you care about them and want them to live their ideal life span of 10+ years.

  • It's not the size of the tank that concerns me. Fishes die from their own waste. Called Bio Load, in the wild they have plenty of water, but when we put them into a small man made tank and fill it with water they poop and it stays in the tank...Ammonia becomes nitrite then becomes nitrate too much of it is harmful to fishes. Each Oscar requires 50-55G minimum by themselves...50x3=150G. Like I said they look fine now but later you will have problems.

  • i have recently tested the water and everything is normal. they have been in the tank for about 6 months

  • your advice is good, but i have been feeding them feeders since they were less than 2 inchs and now they are all around 8 inches. so they are fine with feeders.

i feed them pellets most of the time. feeders probably every other week

  • nice oscars, but i recommend you putting some powerheads so water wont be stagnant, laterss

  • there is one right in front of the filter box. then there are 2 jets from the filter.

and the tank has been going for years with no problems

    but thanks for your concern

  • two of the angelfish didnt make it.

    third is doing great.

also released the perch. he wasnt eating like the bluegill.

  • also added the three angelfish from my tank into this tank. my jewel cichlids were eating their fins.

  • released the bluegill back into its home today

he wasnt eating enough and i didnt want him to die
