Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a very clever man. But he is also a demagogue. When speaking to western outlets such as the above, he is polite, intelligent and diplomatic but in Iran, it is a different story.
1) He has called for a sovereign nation to be 'wiped off the map'
2) He has done nothing to stop the execution of homosexuals or juveniles- often under very questionable circumstances
3) Many of his supporters have little access to other sources to form an opinion. Ahmadinejad manipulates this.

I watched that whole damn thing, because I thought it would be funny to hear him say 'Merry Christmas', but he never did. Once again, you disapoint me Ahmadinejad.
It's an experience to watch religion's role in this world, and particularly Iranian society, and then listen to this man talk as if lack of closeness to God is the root of the problem. It seems to be the exact opposite to me. Ahmadinejad and Iran more generally is willingly misunderstood by the west, he's not nearly as bad as we like to think, compared to other prominent and respected leaders of the world at least.

We HAVE turned our backs on Yahweh-God. We condone ABORTION and GAY MARRIAGE, which are totally NOT what Yahweh-God wants us to do. If we are to be successful, we must repent of our sins and "seek [His] face" (2 Chron. 7:14). Let us be a Godly country in '09, not a Godless one.

Yeah the god idea is working great in Iran and all of the other theocratic states. Wherever religion rules people suffer and it has been that way through all of history. Amazing that your biggest issue as a Christian is gay marriage and abortion. How about human welfare and liberty. What exactly do you mean despite the differences between Islam/Christianity? I support the moderate development in Iran and even though I'm not proud of parts of the current political structure in Iran (the none-elected organs such as Guardian Council), I still think it is very important that the major developments of everything from infrastructural development to wealth ware doesn't go unnoticed. Although his message is of peace, his rhetoric deafens me. Since 1979 however we have had major infrastructural development, our literacy rates has increased from less than 50 percent to 95 and a middle class suddenly bloomed during the late 80s while Iran was in a full-scale war against Saddam which bankrupted the country.

I can't answer for arabian country: ask them. I think it is a matter of religion, Islam Chiite vs Islam Sunnite or something like that. We had this dispute hundred years ago, remember? Catholics vs protestants. Hopefully, it is the past. Religion should be privacy matters, like sex (whatever you prefer, man or woman, don't bother others with that and don't persecutate anyone because he don't like the same thing than you. If you're defending your people from an attacking army in a densely populated area, you have no choice but to put your weapons next to houses, cus after all, it's a densely populated area: a city. If you can't put your weapons elsewhere, you can't really say they use human shields. It's those very people in those very cities they're defending from an onslaught. I have nothing but respect for Hamas. Israel intentionally targets civilians and that's called terrorism!

I am glad as well that this was aired, but I disagree, I'm sorry to say. I think this is a transparent example of using religion to advance a political agenda and therefore not sincere. I think Ahmadinejad is nervous of the many bridges uniting Christian and Jewish people and nations, and is therefore making his appeal to Christians ( obviously there will be no such appeal to or praise for Jews ).
