Canada is the only country to ever successfully repel American attacks, and counter military movement to the point that we pushed back into the United States of America and burned down their nations capital building. It took almost 200 years for another country to attack the US using passenger airplanes to do what we did with rifles and true courage. We did not target civilian buildings or kill for the sake of killing. We did not provoke, we defended ourselves and our country.
I still love how America thinks that they won the war of 1812. So yea, if you're Canadian, and you bring that up, chances are you will get some grinning, confused Americans looking at you.
Just wondering why a buddy in the USA tries to watch this video, and all she gets is "This video contains content from Canadian Broadcasting Corp., who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds."
@thecrazyguy420 The Order of Battle is entirely made up of British regulars. While "Canadian" militias and native warriors played a large role in the defence of British North America, they DID NOT participate in the Battle of Bladensburg (official name of the battle), so no, "we" didn't. Google Bladensburg 1814
Guess who's not in the commonwealth forces... >:) Oh and also, studies show that a newly trained Canadian solider is likely to beat a Marine's Officer training course with a better speed of time. So ye.
@TheAmazingPheonix ya the average Canadian solider receives much more vigorous training and a longer training time then some of the more elite American soldiers, some states claim that a Canadian solider is the equivalent to 3 or even 5 American soldiers
And the national anthem of the United States has nothing to do with Washington or the whitehouse, it was written at Fort McHenry during the British bombardment of that fort, and the fort was never taken thus the"Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there"part of the song.Canadian soldiers did some great things during WW2including the capture of Juno beach on D-Day.But i think its sad that Canadians have such an inferiority complex that they feel the need to embellish the truth.
@artc1321 I'm sorry, but I'm not sure if you realised that this is a comedy show. We don't "feel the need to embelish the truth". I'm surprised you American took so much offence to this video.
Hey Retards Actually check your history book before you make all Canadians sound like dumb fucks. Canada did not burn the white house, a the Brits did, a few Canadian militia were involved but if it weren't for brit regulars we would be a part of the USA today.
in fact the Brit fleet that was responsible for the capture of Washington DC was not even from Canada but up from Barbados.
the american natinal anthem is about the canadians burning down the white house they must realy like canada if they included us in there natinal anthem
Right Juno Beach never happened, Baike 93 you are severely understating. Also Canada only had a population of 100,000 at the time of WWII we sent 100,000 to fight ten percent of our Country contributed. You must be american
@Esharido Of course, no country would have to fear us if we had the same population because we are a peaceful nation. All that would change is there would be a shit load more of more talented NHL players.
@07SuperchargedSS We'd also be wealthier, have more stars, more actors, singers, rappers more sports players in general and probably be more advanced technologically.
@wepntech There were some Canadians who were living in the US who got drafted to fight in Vietnam, and some Canadians who volunteered to fight with the Americans because they were fucking stupid, but none of those people were sent by Canada to fight. Canada as a nation wasn't involved in the war fighting the North Vietnamese.
Do you know who the "Red Baron" was? He was a Nazi pilot who shot down more than 87 allied pilot in ww1. Do you know who stopped him? A Canadian pilot. Ya thats right, we Canadiens can do shit bitch
Do you know who the "Red Baron" was? He was a Nazi pilot who shot down more than 87 allied pilot in ww1. Do you know who stopped him? A Canadian pilot. Ya thats right, we Canadiens can do shit bitch
@nativekids2010 - Almost got it right, except there were no NAZI's in WWI but the Baron Von Richthofen (Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen (2 May 1892 – 21 April 1918)) was born in Breslau, Germany (now Wrocław, Poland). Canadian Captain Arthur Roy Brown was officially credited by the RAF with shooting down Richthofen. However many people today after careful examination of the incident credit a member of the Australian 24th Machine Gun Company as the one who shot down the Red Baron.
Do you know who the "Red Baron" was? He was a Nazi pilot who shot down more than 87 allied pilot in ww1. Do you know who stopped him? A Canadian pilot. Ya thats right, we Canadiens can do shit bitch
you are absolutely right harper is part of the nwo movement, the thing is obama is likely going to be re-elected, where canadians are onto harper and his fraudjulent government, and there is a good chance they might be forced to leave do to fixing votes, with an american companys electoral system, harper, bush &obama all use the same system to rig the elections in thier favor, dont get me wrong, the american people r great people, its your corrupt world control gov, skull&bones have got to go HELP
Nobody is flooding Asia with non-asians and telling everybody to 'mix'
Nobody is flooding Black countries with non-blacks and telling everybody to 'mix'
Every White country, and ONLY White countries are expected to flood themselves with 3rd Worlders and 'assimilate' (inter-marry) to create a mixed up 'blended humanity'.
This is nothing but an attempt to Genocide White people.
@07SuperchargedSS 1. Try to imagine how much brainwashing it would take to convince all the Asians living in Asia, that they need to go ahead and replace themselves (in Asia) with North African Muslims????
2. Now imagine that they were so totally mind conditioned and brainwashed. That they really believed it would be RACIST not to????
If you manage to do that: Welcome to the world of the white Anti-whites!
So my question is: Can anyone think of something dumber than a white Anti-white????
@neopadro Sorry, but Canada was a very minor presence in every respect. Definitely were some instances were Canadians proved themselves against the Germans, but the credit for beating the Third Reich is almost entirely on the fortitude of the British and the amazing sacrifice of the Soviet Union. You need to realize that ~75% of the casualties the Wehrmacht suffered were on the Eastern Front. The British/US/Canadians/etc were a distraction from the real fight against the Soviets.
@BigMikeMcBastard Agreed, Canadians were less decisive during World War II although Dieppe was crucial for preparing for DDay and taking pressure off the Soviets, lots of Canadians died that day. The true shining day for Canada is World War I no doubt that war would have been lost without Canada. The French, British and other commonwealth countries (Australia New Zealand) were crucial as well. But some of the most key victories in that war were won by Canadians.
@Alexthelion94 Dieppe was okay for D-Day insight but D-Day itself was largely unnecessary and by that point in the war Germany was done. Even if the Western Front never opened up it would have been just a matter of time. The real victory of the Western Front was in allowing France and other nations to avoid being "liberated" by the Soviet Union and suffering the same fate as many nations in the USSR did. The Cold War may have gone different if Europe was almost all red.
@R3dTigerM40A3 Canada didn't save the British. I'm not sure what makes you think they did. The British weren't conquered for several reasons. First, that Germany did not want to conquer them but rather hoped to ally with them in the long run (Hitler saw the British Empire as a necessary world power); second, that the Battle of Britain shifted toward bombing cities which was largely ineffective at winning against the RAF; and third because the British never, never, never quit.
@BigMikeMcBastard there was a submarine fleet going straight to england invading them...the canada destroy all the submarine fleet. i am pretty sure that would have defeated the britishes.
@R3dTigerM40A3 You can't invade a country with submarines.
Canada's navy helped get supplies to Britain and, several years into the war when it was actually a real fighting force also helped fight the Germans at sea, but it wasn't a pivotal role by any means.
@Baikie93 It wouldn't have gone quite as well for some other Allied nation which would have had to pick up the slack, but the outcome would have been basically the same. The Soviet Union would still have beaten Germany whether Canada became involved or not.
@BigMikeMcBastard I shall share some facts about Canada's large, vital role in WW2:
Canada had no professional army when Canada declared war, tinny pathetic air force & a navy with only 19 surface vessels. By mid 1941 the Canadian military was larger & more powerful then the US military & ended the war with the 4th largest army in the world & 3rd largest navy.
Canada's navy fought & had the largest role in the Battle of the Atlantic. It was 1 of the most important battles of...
@JimmyG228 Wow, amazing, I'm so impressed. Guess how many casualties Canada suffered during the war? 45,000. Guess how many military casualties the USSR suffered? 10,725,345. And with those nearly 11 million dead soldiers they crushed ~80% of the Wehrmacht. You are kidding yourself if you think Canada had anything to do with that. Canada made life a bit easier for Britain. The USSR are the ones who beat Hitler.
So tell me again about the vital role Canada had during WW2.
@BigMikeMcBastard Canada supplied and defended british and American convoys crossing the Atlantic, Provided bases for warplanes making the crossing, fought on the beaches of Normandy pushing farther on D-Day than any other force. We were there in Italy freeing most of the country, we were there freeing Belgium, the Netherlands, and the Rhineland. We were there in Hong Kong and the Aleutians driving back the Japanese. We were there, throwing punches well above our weight class.
@Baikie93 You are severely overstating Canada's involvement in all of those things aside from running supplies across the Atlantic. Being present during these events does not mean we contributed the bulk of the soldiers, nor that we had the greatest impact.
And, once again, the entire Western Front was only significant in that it prevented the Soviet Union from claiming the entirety of mainland Europe for itself. The real war was going on further east.
@BigMikeMcBastard This is no overstatement of Canadian contribution this happened it is a fact. The Netherlands sends us several thousand tulip bulbs a year for Canada's effort in freeing their nation. Pound for pound, we kicked a lot more ass than most nations in that war, since we did so much with so few soldiers
Without Canada, Britain wouldn't have survived to fight on after France fell, the war woulda been lost & over by July 1940.
Canada's army fielded the best trained troops in the world at the time. As such the allies always tasked the Canadians with the most difficult objectives. Battles like Juno Beach & the Battle of Normandy, including the Battle of Falaise, Battle of the Scheldt, Hitler Line & Ortona. Ortona AKA little Stalingrad.
@JimmyG228 Britain would have been worse off but it would have survived. Whether Britain capitulated or not wouldn't have made a major difference as the Soviet Union would have smashed the Wehrmacht anyway.
Canada didn't have the "best trained troops in the world" and I'm not sure what makes you think they did. I'm not sure there's any way to be sure whose were best. Either way, none of those things you mentioned were not Canada's job alone. Canada was just a small part of them.
@BigMikeMcBastard You clearly know very little to nothing on the subject. Everything I said is supported by historical facts. Just study Canada's role in the war, you will soon see I'm not lying or exaggerating.
If you stick to your uneducated opinion, fine, be an uneducated idiot, just don't shoot your mouth off unless it’s loaded. My statements are loaded with historical facts, you are firing blanks. So to speak.
@JimmyG228 So you're saying that I'm wrong that the Soviet Union was responsible for the destruction of the vast majority of the Wehrmacht? And that Canada contributed little to nothing toward that end? I'd be interested in what you're basing that on, as from where I'm sitting the casualty figures are pretty clear. Canada fought a tiny portion of the Wehrmacht and sacrificed a tiny number of soldiers. Laudable, sure, but not decisive, which is the point.
@BigMikeMcBastard You greatly over estimate how many soldiers the USSR took out in the war. Farther more a larger percentage of the total number representing the last several weeks which included the Battle of Berlin should not me considered in the over all rating of any country's involvement. The Allies stopped advancing in April, & greatly slowed their progress weeks before hand as the war was won & all but over.
@BigMikeMcBastard Also most of all, using casualty numbers ais an easy, but very misleading source to support your argument. Comparing soldiering ability based on casualty numbers completely leaves out the difference in quality of training & over all soldiering of the troops. Canada having the best troops in the world (at the time), the USSR having among the poorest of the Allies. You can’t ignore that fact, so it must be considered.
@JimmyG228 45k soldiers lost in a war that cost 25 million soldiers' lives. 80% of the Wehrmacht destroyed on the Eastern Front. This is everything that needs to be said about Canada's contribution to the war.
@BigMikeMcBastard That's a very weak argument. Do some real research you fool. Plus I highly doubt the USSR was responsible for %80, I'd guess no more then %60 & my educated guess is that, educated. Yours lacks any real education.
Furthermore, the Germans once the Allies invaded the continent sent its best divisions to combat the Allies (not USSR). The best of the best Germany had fought the Canadians, 1st Para of the Wehrmacht (Ortona), 12th SS Panzer (Normandy) 2 off hand.
@JimmyG228 You make a guess about the casualty figures and you tell me to do some real research and call me a fool? You're guessing, I'm using actual reported casualty figures. If they're inaccurate I'd recommend you submit your own casualty figures for review. I'm sure you have a more accurate assessment than the German and Soviet militaries did at the time, right?
The best German forces were destroyed or severely diminished fighting the Soviets. Barbarossa was an all-in move.
@JimmyG228 You need to get over this. Not every country gets to be the pivotal, deciding factor in every war, all the time. Many Canadians suffer from little penis syndrome, seems to me. The country has a lot going for it, but it's next to the USA which has much more money and a bigger military, so Canadians get jealous. And then they begin making up nonsense, like that they were decisive in World War 2, or that they burned down the White House. It's sad and unnecessary. Accept reality, please.
@BigMikeMcBastard lol seems like americans are the one with the small penise syndrom always screaming how great they are to everybody...
And how is burning down the white house non sense IT HAPPENED same for WW2 we obviously didnt play a role as big as the us but we enteredd the war in 1939 you know the year it started unlike the US
@coviron21 British soldiers and marines burned down the White House and other buildings during the raid on Washington. It wasn't Canadians, although Canadians at the time (and now) tried to claim it as a victory for themselves to drum up national pride.
The US staying out of the war was fine given what they knew. In hindsight it's easy to say they should have gone in, but WW1 was still fairly fresh in everyone's mind. I'd rather have an isolationist US than an imperialist one.
@BigMikeMcBastard Then there are total arrogant idiots like you who make Canadians look much nicer & smarter then they really are. Thank you for being such an idiot, you make me look like genius.
BTW the British & Canadians not only burnt the White House but all of Washington too.
@JimmyG228 Yeah, all of Washington? British and Canadians? Another guess on your part? Let me guess, the actual reports of who was present and what was burned are things you think are unreliable? You're relying on your gut instinct again rather than actual facts? Great. Excellent work. Just pretend something is true and never stop reaching for that rainbow.
Wow I'm soo not surprised of that shit from U.S .. some u.s mate are soo uneducated.. and they really think they are the best... but saying that on a tv show!!! Now we now HOW grand AMERICANS are!!! ***** but not alll the americans***** .................bunch of cunts
@jethro035181 Well if you were a Canadian you'd know that everyone in canada hates Quebec cuz there fucken retarded French fucks who don't even speak real French.
@swightguy89 Whoa whoa! I know haters gonna hate, but no! no. We dont hate Quebec, we are fed up with the whining and moaning of the few billigerents who want to make our lives difficult. Quebec is a nice place and brings in tourists and stuff. Im sure Ontarians dont like us westerners much because of our attitudes or something, but we have oil and cows, and not all of us out west are bad. Ok, everyone loves Newfies, they are so nice and friendly, and have great screech.
@swightguy89 Well sadly just like anywhere else we get our share of close minded asshole like you in Canada too, but due to the lower population density it become quite easy to tell them apart.
hey america, are you so caught up in your governments propaganda that you dont even care that it was them that brought down the twin towers and building 7 , how stupid are you people, have you been dumbed down so bad, you cant see the truth at all anymore, please wake up soon, your kids lives are in danger, the whole world now knows it was your leaders who made up this war, for their own personal gain, and a nwo. dont get me wrong all world leaders are in on it,but you are being crushed by yours
@bcasey25raptor there is a new world order but they don't want you to belive in them or it or thier plans, why does the US army defend the heroin supply in afgahnistan the taliban were trying to destroy HUM ??
@lowaces Also Harper never said anything like that. Get your facts right before making comments you dumbass idiot. FYT It was Vic Toews who said that, NOT Harper.
Plus saying 9/11 was an inside job is like saying the attack on Pearl Harbor was an inside job. Again I repeat myself; you are the dumbest person I've ever seen on here. Just shut up already.
@JimmyG228 NO. i make BC look good, you look like Harpers lickspittle
pearl harbor, inside job, read the book "day of deceit", the US govt knew the attack was coming and they let it happen, that makes it an inside job, theres overwhelming documentation from the americans and the japanese, theres your proof, right from the US and Japanese govt, what more could you ask for, they've admitted it, so you would call the govt of these countries liars cuz you don't like the truth HIEL HARPER
@lowaces Stop talking like you know me! I don't even like Harper you dumb ass loony-toon. I, people don't have time for total idiots like you, so just SHUT UP already.
@lowaces actually, the connection you make between harper and toews is insufficient. If harper doesn't tell toews to retract his statement, that only means that harper doesn't tell toews to retract his statement. You are connecting the dots as if toews was harper's spokesperson, which is not the case. Politics without a majority of informed and politically active citizenry will allow governments to get away with gestures. Stop 'learning' from youtube. it does you no good.
If Harper doesn't tell Toews to retract his statement it doesn't mean he supports Vic. But it doesn't mean he condemns it either. And given Harper's history (And treatment of Maritimes + Newfoundland), I would say he pretty much supports Vic's craziness.
Harper is a reform partyist, remember that. If this was the same Conservatives we had before the 1990s, I wouldn't bat an eye at what the Gov't does. But since the current Tories are Reform party, I don't trust them
@lowaces Harpers dumb as shit. He's from Alberta. He's a hick. Almost to the arrogance of Americans.
9/11 was not an inside job. Yes, I hate Bush too, but despite the fact he's a warmongering, lying, cheating man doesn't mean he set up an attack on his own country so he could declare war on another Country that had nothing to do with it.
It's ludicris, Not everything that happens is a conspiracy. Not everyone is obsessed with finding some sort of for Nefarious reason for everything.
@TheRimDoctor That he is from Alberta is both a shame and a source of some comfort. I prefer Joe Clark for Albertans who have done well, but we feel here a certain annoyance with the rest of the nation taking our dough and coming for jobs whilst accusing us of being anti-green, US loving hicks. Here in Calgary we have a Muslim Mayor, tons of green space, jobs, biketrails galore and genuinely nice people. Not like any US city I've been to, no offense meant. Peace
@EattherichBuddy After living in Northern BC near the Alberta Border close to Grande Prairie, just the lack of common sense in the area just stunned me. And Everyone drives huge $70,000 trucks as commuting vehicles. Think of the gas being used. Obviously not all of Alberta is like that, the ones I've had the disfortune of meeting were unfortunately. The feeling just spreads throughout the west that I've traveled through and lived in.
@TheRimDoctor I was lucky enough to tour Canada (2006) and grew up as an army brat. We lived in Quebec for eight years as dad was bilingual. I never went anywhere I did not like, though some places were gritier and more dingy than others. Mostly people are considerate, kind and friendly. There are some good ole boy types here in Alberta but aside from being environmentally unfriendly they are just that, good ole boys. Peace
@edmontonoilers46 RimDoctor was saying he thought it was stupid to waste gas commuting to work in $70,000.00 trucks. I said that aside from being environmentally unfriendly good ole boys are just that good ole boys. So individual is who I meant. Though I think we could use more solar, wind and conserve our resources better. Peace
@TheRimDoctor Hey that's where I live. GOD YES! There's something wrong with the water here I swear it. And most of those guys in the big trucks are rig pigs. People in the oil field are paid ridiculous amounts of money, that they piss away on our very, very sad looking hookers, depressing strippers and well the alcohol is good I guess.
@stevi14hot The British Army & Canadian Militia not only burnt down the White House but all of Washington too. Civilian homes were the only thing left untouched by us, the rest was burnt.
@stevi14hot And ate their lunch, literally. They fled so fast the table was still set. The White House is white because they had to paint over the scorched walls.
Honestly we Canadians dont need a military, we live in the 21st century, Canada is loved around the world, we dont have enemys like the US. And we Canadians are famous for our diplomacy skills ;)
@gimi300 That's very naive to say. Canada has been threatened countless times, is being threatened at nearly all times from Iran, Russia, North Korea, China & the list goes on. Even the US likes breach our sovereign seas without permission sometimes.
As a former member of the Canadian Army I could go on & on about how serious Canada is taken by our enemies but most of my knowledge is classified.
Please don't be so naive & watch the news more often with an open mind you will see.
@JimmyG228 That's what is so beautiful about our country, modesty. Yeah we kick ass, but we don't need to talk about it to feel good, we just do it. It's the Canadian way.
P.S. - epic respect for anyone who has served this wonderful country I live in.
@JimmyG228 How is Iran, a country halfway across the globe of any threat to us. We should reopen nuclear technology trade with them for all i care, then you would realize how the US is a way more dangerous enemy for our country. The Russian just love to play cat and mouse, keep us both on our toes. Maybe we should invade Denmark as a preemptive strike..
@jonharson You must live in a sheltered, uninformed, naive world to say what you did.
If you don't understand the danger, to Canada Iran poses that's fine. This is a free country, but you should never levy an opinion based on lack of education on the subject. Your naive, uninformed opinion, we should let Iran have nuclear technology, is like letting a convicted pedophile work at a elementary school, extremely stupid.
Your comment on Denmark is just retarded & unwarranted.
@JimmyG228 It's alright you seem to be of the puppet category, no point in taking an argument with your kind since they only respond to propaganda and lies.
@JimmyG228 I appreciate your service. Thank you. But Iran is no threat. They have been in one war in the last 300 years. I fear special interests are beating the war drums, nations who have invaded and occupied like the US and Israel are not the people we should heed about Iran being a threat. Peace
There was no country of canada in 1812, canada did not become a country until 1867, or is the governemnt lying about what year canada became a country
@lowaces Just cuz Canada didn't confederate until 1867 doesn't mean Canada didn't exist. You are jumping to a conclusion & basing you criticism on the conclusion that happens to be wrong.
@JimmyG228 so the people in BC and quebec fought these americans in this war, or was it just people from ontario, or was it called upper canada back then
One; BC became its own dominion separate from Canada in 1859, long after the war of 1812.
Two; Ontario didn't exist back then & Quebec was just a city, not a province or colony. Three; Upper (Ontario) & Lower (Quebec) Canada, two separate colonies fought together under British rule to defend Canada.
Four; Canada, being both official names of the 2 said colonies & the commonly used name for British North America, excluding the Maritimes.
@lowaces French Canada's language, religion, & parts of French civil law were protected by law in the Quebec Act. No bill would have done the same if Lower Canada joined the US. Furthermore the US forced Louisiana to assume all American laws, customs & their British civil law, effectively turning the people of Louisiana into a silent minority.
A better question is why would any French, back then wanna join the US? The US offered the French a lot less then the British/Canadians were.
@lowaces The Catholic church in Lower Canada was threatened by the US's act of forcing the protestant religion on the Catholic minority in newly joined Florida & Louisiana. The British/Canadians not only made it law to protect Lower Canada's rights of culture but embraced it. The Governor of British North America, before the war chose Quebec (City) as the place for his office/command in respect of the new French subjects.
Anyone in Lower Canada wanting a US victory was seen as a idiot.
@lowaces Also I'm no harperite. My veiws are just left of center, Harper is well right of center. Harperites have pro-American veiws, I surely do not.
Canada is the only country to ever successfully repel American attacks, and counter military movement to the point that we pushed back into the United States of America and burned down their nations capital building.

BigMikeMcBastard 1 week ago
@BigMikeMcBastard Agreed, Canadians were less decisive during World War II although Dieppe was crucial for preparing for DDay and taking pressure off the Soviets, lots of Canadians died that day. The true shining day for Canada is World War I no doubt that war would have been lost without Canada. The French, British and other commonwealth countries (Australia New Zealand) were crucial as well. But some of the most key victories in that war were won by Canadians.
Alexthelion94 1 week ago
@Alexthelion94 Dieppe was okay for D-Day insight but D-Day itself was largely unnecessary and by that point in the war Germany was done. Even if the Western Front never opened up it would have been just a matter of time. The real victory of the Western Front was in allowing France and other nations to avoid being "liberated" by the Soviet Union and suffering the same fate as many nations in the USSR did. The Cold War may have gone different if Europe was almost all red.
BigMikeMcBastard 6 days ago
@BigMikeMcBastard yeah, but if the canada wouldnt have saved the britishes, they would get crush and let the soviet alone to fight the thrid reich
R3dTigerM40A3 6 days ago
@R3dTigerM40A3 Canada didn't save the British. I'm not sure what makes you think they did. The British weren't conquered for several reasons. First, that Germany did not want to conquer them but rather hoped to ally with them in the long run (Hitler saw the British Empire as a necessary world power); second, that the Battle of Britain shifted toward bombing cities which was largely ineffective at winning against the RAF; and third because the British never, never, never quit.
BigMikeMcBastard 6 days ago
@BigMikeMcBastard there was a submarine fleet going straight to england invading them...the canada destroy all the submarine fleet. i am pretty sure that would have defeated the britishes.
R3dTigerM40A3 6 days ago
@R3dTigerM40A3 You can't invade a country with submarines.
Canada's navy helped get supplies to Britain and, several years into the war when it was actually a real fighting force also helped fight the Germans at sea, but it wasn't a pivotal role by any means.
BigMikeMcBastard 6 days ago
@BigMikeMcBastard Without Canada world war two wouldn't have gone quite as well as it did, learn some history.
Baikie93 4 days ago
@Baikie93 It wouldn't have gone quite as well for some other Allied nation which would have had to pick up the slack, but the outcome would have been basically the same. The Soviet Union would still have beaten Germany whether Canada became involved or not.
BigMikeMcBastard 4 days ago
@BigMikeMcBastard I shall share some facts about Canada's large, vital role in WW2:
Canada had no professional army when Canada declared war, tinny pathetic air force & a navy with only 19 surface vessels. By mid 1941 the Canadian military was larger & more powerful then the US military & ended the war with the 4th largest army in the world & 3rd largest navy.
Canada's navy fought & had the largest role in the Battle of the Atlantic. It was 1 of the most important battles of...
JimmyG228 4 days ago
@JimmyG228 Wow, amazing, I'm so impressed. Guess how many casualties Canada suffered during the war? 45,000. Guess how many military casualties the USSR suffered? 10,725,345. And with those nearly 11 million dead soldiers they crushed ~80% of the Wehrmacht. You are kidding yourself if you think Canada had anything to do with that. Canada made life a bit easier for Britain. The USSR are the ones who beat Hitler.
So tell me again about the vital role Canada had during WW2.
BigMikeMcBastard 4 days ago
@BigMikeMcBastard Canada supplied and defended british and American convoys crossing the Atlantic, Provided bases for warplanes making the crossing, fought on the beaches of Normandy pushing farther on D-Day than any other force. We were there in Italy freeing most of the country, we were there freeing Belgium, the Netherlands, and the Rhineland. We were there in Hong Kong and the Aleutians driving back the Japanese. We were there, throwing punches well above our weight class.
Baikie93 4 days ago
@Baikie93 You are severely overstating Canada's involvement in all of those things aside from running supplies across the Atlantic. Being present during these events does not mean we contributed the bulk of the soldiers, nor that we had the greatest impact.
And, once again, the entire Western Front was only significant in that it prevented the Soviet Union from claiming the entirety of mainland Europe for itself. The real war was going on further east.
BigMikeMcBastard 4 days ago
@BigMikeMcBastard This is no overstatement of Canadian contribution this happened it is a fact. The Netherlands sends us several thousand tulip bulbs a year for Canada's effort in freeing their nation. Pound for pound, we kicked a lot more ass than most nations in that war, since we did so much with so few soldiers
Baikie93 4 days ago
@BigMikeMcBastard ...of the whole war.
JimmyG228 4 days ago
@JimmyG228 Britain would have been worse off but it would have survived. Whether Britain capitulated or not wouldn't have made a major difference as the Soviet Union would have smashed the Wehrmacht anyway.
Canada didn't have the "best trained troops in the world" and I'm not sure what makes you think they did. I'm not sure there's any way to be sure whose were best. Either way, none of those things you mentioned were not Canada's job alone. Canada was just a small part of them.
BigMikeMcBastard 4 days ago
@BigMikeMcBastard You clearly know very little to nothing on the subject. Everything I said is supported by historical facts. Just study Canada's role in the war, you will soon see I'm not lying or exaggerating.
If you stick to your uneducated opinion, fine, be an uneducated idiot, just don't shoot your mouth off unless it’s loaded. My statements are loaded with historical facts, you are firing blanks. So to speak.
JimmyG228 4 days ago
@JimmyG228 So you're saying that I'm wrong that the Soviet Union was responsible for the destruction of the vast majority of the Wehrmacht? And that Canada contributed little to nothing toward that end? I'd be interested in what you're basing that on, as from where I'm sitting the casualty figures are pretty clear. Canada fought a tiny portion of the Wehrmacht and sacrificed a tiny number of soldiers. Laudable, sure, but not decisive, which is the point.
BigMikeMcBastard 4 days ago
@BigMikeMcBastard You greatly over estimate how many soldiers the USSR took out in the war. Farther more a larger percentage of the total number representing the last several weeks which included the Battle of Berlin should not me considered in the over all rating of any country's involvement. The Allies stopped advancing in April, & greatly slowed their progress weeks before hand as the war was won & all but over.
JimmyG228 4 days ago
@BigMikeMcBastard Also most of all, using casualty numbers ais an easy, but very misleading source to support your argument. Comparing soldiering ability based on casualty numbers completely leaves out the difference in quality of training & over all soldiering of the troops. Canada having the best troops in the world (at the time), the USSR having among the poorest of the Allies. You can’t ignore that fact, so it must be considered.
JimmyG228 4 days ago
@JimmyG228 45k soldiers lost in a war that cost 25 million soldiers' lives. 80% of the Wehrmacht destroyed on the Eastern Front. This is everything that needs to be said about Canada's contribution to the war.
BigMikeMcBastard 4 days ago
@BigMikeMcBastard That's a very weak argument. Do some real research you fool. Plus I highly doubt the USSR was responsible for %80, I'd guess no more then %60 & my educated guess is that, educated. Yours lacks any real education.
Furthermore, the Germans once the Allies invaded the continent sent its best divisions to combat the Allies (not USSR). The best of the best Germany had fought the Canadians, 1st Para of the Wehrmacht (Ortona), 12th SS Panzer (Normandy) 2 off hand.
JimmyG228 4 days ago
@JimmyG228 You make a guess about the casualty figures and you tell me to do some real research and call me a fool? You're guessing, I'm using actual reported casualty figures. If they're inaccurate I'd recommend you submit your own casualty figures for review. I'm sure you have a more accurate assessment than the German and Soviet militaries did at the time, right?
The best German forces were destroyed or severely diminished fighting the Soviets. Barbarossa was an all-in move.
BigMikeMcBastard 4 days ago
@JimmyG228 You need to get over this. Not every country gets to be the pivotal, deciding factor in every war, all the time. Many Canadians suffer from little penis syndrome, seems to me. The country has a lot going for it, but it's next to the USA which has much more money and a bigger military, so Canadians get jealous. And then they begin making up nonsense, like that they were decisive in World War 2, or that they burned down the White House. It's sad and unnecessary. Accept reality, please.
BigMikeMcBastard 4 days ago
@BigMikeMcBastard lol seems like americans are the one with the small penise syndrom always screaming how great they are to everybody...
And how is burning down the white house non sense IT HAPPENED same for WW2 we obviously didnt play a role as big as the us but we enteredd the war in 1939 you know the year it started unlike the US
coviron21 4 days ago
@coviron21 British soldiers and marines burned down the White House and other buildings during the raid on Washington. It wasn't Canadians, although Canadians at the time (and now) tried to claim it as a victory for themselves to drum up national pride.
The US staying out of the war was fine given what they knew. In hindsight it's easy to say they should have gone in, but WW1 was still fairly fresh in everyone's mind. I'd rather have an isolationist US than an imperialist one.
BigMikeMcBastard 4 days ago
@BigMikeMcBastard Then there are total arrogant idiots like you who make Canadians look much nicer & smarter then they really are. Thank you for being such an idiot, you make me look like genius.

JimmyG228 4 days ago
@JimmyG228 Yeah, all of Washington? British and Canadians? Another guess on your part? Let me guess, the actual reports of who was present and what was burned are things you think are unreliable? @TheRimDoctor That he is from Alberta is both a shame and a source of some comfort. @JimmyG228 How is Iran, a country halfway across the globe of any threat to us. We should reopen nuclear technology trade with them for all i care, then you would realize how the US is a way more dangerous enemy for our country. The Russian just love to play cat and mouse, keep us both on our toes. Maybe we should invade Denmark as a preemptive strike..
jonharson 1 week ago
@jonharson You must live in a sheltered, uninformed, naive world to say what you did.
If you don't understand the danger, to Canada Iran poses that's fine. This is a free country, but you should never levy an opinion based on lack of education on the subject. Your naive, uninformed opinion, we should let Iran have nuclear technology, is like letting a convicted pedophile work at a elementary school, extremely stupid.
Your comment on Denmark is just retarded & unwarranted.

@JimmyG228 Only a Zionist or a brainwashed puppet will see any threat in Iran.
jonharson 1 week ago
@jonharson And only a total idiot would try & put up a retarded argument like yours.
JimmyG228 1 week ago
@JimmyG228 It's alright you seem to be of the puppet category, no point in taking an argument with your kind since they only respond to propaganda and lies.

@JimmyG228 I appreciate your service. Thank you. But Iran is no threat. They have been in one war in the last 300 years. I fear special interests are beating the war drums, nations who have invaded and occupied like the US and Israel are not the people we should heed about Iran being a threat. Peace

There was no country of canada in 1812, canada did not become a country until 1867, or is the governemnt lying about what year canada became a country
lowaces 2 weeks ago
@lowaces Just cuz Canada didn't confederate until 1867 doesn't mean Canada didn't exist. You are jumping to a conclusion & basing you criticism on the conclusion that happens to be wrong.

@JimmyG228 so the people in BC and quebec fought these americans in this war, or was it just people from ontario, or was it called upper canada back then
you must be a harperite
lowaces 2 weeks ago
@lowaces You know little of Canadian history.

@JimmyG228 just out of curiosity, why would the french want to defend canada from the states
lowaces 2 weeks ago
@lowaces French Canada's language, religion, & parts of French civil law were protected by law in the Quebec Act. No bill would have done the same if Lower Canada joined the US. Furthermore the US forced Louisiana to assume all American laws, customs & their British civil law, effectively turning the people of Louisiana into a silent minority.
A better question is why would any French, back then wanna join the US? The US offered the French a lot less then the British/Canadians were.
JimmyG228 2 weeks ago
