Insurance companies are not stupid. They know that if this passes, they know that people that choose the public-option plan, will get better coverage than the insurance companies, and that they would choose government over them. In my opinion, the Government sucks, but insurance companies suck even more. My cousin has Diabities, and could not even get insurance. This world is done for. I am just going to sit back and watch these crazy people kill each other. People just do not like change

I also was there at this TownHall. Of course, the guest speakers were late. When Specter announced that he was only going to take questions until 4 PM when there was a line of over 60-70 people! This is a Health Care take over! The Gov is demonizing us! I have read parts of the Reform,,WE HAVE THE BEST HEALTH CARE IN THE WORLD, THE BEST DR'S! Yes, we need reform, but not a total Gov takeovers
They should do a fine job running health care. Just look at Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. It's called power and control. Hey, heres an idea, how about reading the bill before you vote on it. Bend over people there trying to force it to you.
But gov't healthcare IS a monopoly!! What makes anyone think this uber corrupt administration monopoly is going to be better for us than ANY private healthcare?
Is it their wonderful track record with Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security.
The post office has been operating in the red for decades. So has Amtrack ever since the govt created it.
Why would any sane person want to give govt that kind of control?

Our HHS secretary was my state's governor. She has driven Kansas into the ground financially, and was more concerned idiotic eco-fascist ideas than the welfare of our state.
So-called "universal" health care in a county the size of the United States is doomed to fail. To tax the American public amidst a serious recession is the worst possible idea!
The Obama Administration has excessively taxed us with ARRA, TARP, and the various bailouts. 2010 and 2012 can't come fast enough!
In the U.K, if you work, you contribute a portion of your wage to national insurance. This fee more than pays itself back if you get sick and if you dont at least you know your contributing to the hospitals to help someone else. We introduced the system after world war 2 ( When our country was on its knees financially ) because if there was one thing we learned during that war it was we are all equal and we should be treated as such.
