  • I've had my C-Leg since 2000 (among the first in the US, so I'm told). That's not a secondary mode, is it? Any tips on Slider settings to work this that I could pass on to my lab? I see at the end of the step, he's snapping his hip up hard to extend the leg. I love how smooth my gait is, and not sure I want to sacrifice any of it, but I'm curious what it would take.

  • @jansenpd The knee is not in Second mode, this is the normal walking mode but the way it is setup allows him to be able to climb step over step up the stairs. It takes a very strong limb and a long lever to be able to do it. It doesn't effect the walking gait to be able to do this.

  • what setting does the c leg need to be in. because i am a RAKA with a c leg, i've had mine for a year and a half, and this is the first i'm seeing this and i would love to know how i can do this. by the way if you would like to see some things i am doing as an amputee feel free to check it out, my name is evan ruggiero. i will be posting more videos of me doing activities including driving a six speed manual transmission. thanks

  • So, the C-Leg is the normal above knee prothesis? and the knee is the only special? is that right? (I'm Mexico's Shriner Hospital patient, sorry if my english is not good)

  • @ArCrMo Yes, this is the regular C-Leg. It is just setup and programmed so that the patient can climb the stairs naturally step over step. It also requires very good muscles strength in the limb and a very good fitting socket.

  • @teknow4 Yes, this is the regular C-Leg. It is how the knee is programmed that allows him to walk up stairs step over step.

  • How do you do that?! What knee do you have?? I'm a left above knee amputee and I can't go upstairs foot over foot like that

  • @EyesTelescope07 It is the regular C-Leg, nothing special. They way the knee is programmed is what allows him to walk up the stairs like that. The C-Leg has so much potential that many people are not aware of.

  • @EyesTelescope07 It takes proper settings in the knee to allow this and also very good muscle strength in the limb to accomplish this.
