you wrong moron, the PSN doesn't beat Xbox Live on features at all... the PSN doesn't have cross-game chat or voice messaging, or the ability to join a friends game without an invite... AND if, as you claim, the PSN has more people online, why is it that more people play CoD games on Xbox Live.. last night at 2am there were 243 people playing Search&Destroy on W@W on the PSN, while on Live there were 1764 people playing that same game type.. Explain that to me?? you're so full of shit..
The playstation 3 actually has a better sales performance than the xbox 360. Right now the xbox 360 sold 29 million units whereas the playstation 3 sold 21 million units. If you subtract 10 million away from 29 million units, the xbox 360 would've sold up to 19 million units today. Why 10 million? Because that is how many the system sold in its first year before the wii and playstation 3 came out. If it was released at the same time as the other consoles, it would've been last in the sales rank.

Killzone 2 is nothing more then another bland FPS their are tons of them. Once COD:MW2 will come out everyone will forget about it. I Guess you never played RE4 the game might be 4 years old but it still is as good or better then most games released today.
Killzone 2 is just an fps yes, but that's like saying halo 3 is just another fps. See what I'm saying? Killzone 2 is more than what it seems. It's the kind of game that shows what's never been shown before in a fps game (watch some reviews if you don't get its uniqeness). If you don't like it, fine, but don't knock it.
I saw and read plenty of reviews for Killzone 2 let me sum up what they said is it an above average FPS yes. Is it groundbreaking and revolutionary no. Unless I missed something please tell me how it is different from any other FPS. Also the PS3's version of RE5 has already outsold Killzone 2 so it really can't be that amazing.
It has a deep multiplayer, the levels are larger and chaotic, smarter ai's, graphics and probably more.
For resident evil 5, maybe the series is more popular which got more sales. Just because one game outsells another doesn't mean it's better. Apparently resident evil 5 isn't as good as the previous game, half if its reviews it got 9s and the other half 8s.
OK that's still nothing revolutionary or something that hasn't been done before. RE5 is good when you play it single player and great when you play it co-op. On of the key feature I look for when I play a game is that it has a great musical score and besides the Halo series all FPS have forgettable or non-existing music. As a matter of fact the original Doom has better music then most of today's FPS.
Well Resident Evil 5 might not be groundbreaking but the series as a whole is legendary something that I doubt will ever happen to the Killzone series.
I'm just saying I doubt that there will ever be Killzone novels, movies, comic books, fan clubs, soundtracks, action figures, fan sites etc. etc. like their are with Resident Evil.
Well if the next killzone game becomes another hit then the series could prove itself worthy enough to become a franchise. Even though the first killzone game was bad, sequals could make up for it.

@andyswVids sure keep on believing in fairy tales and opinions of fanboys but the FACT is that the 360 was rushed into production because of a bad business deal between NVIDIA and Microsoft, which lead to NVIDIA ceasing production of the GPU for the original X-Box on August 2005 which meant Microsoft no longer had one of the key parts needed in making the X-Box.
If you think that Sony cares more about their costumers then Microsoft then your dreaming. Let's see it took a class action lawsuit against Sony before they addressed the DRE issue that plagued the PS2. Microsoft on the other hand offered a three year warranty to all 360 owners as soon as the RROD problem became widespread no lawsuit needed.
Their is nothing wrong with the playstation band except that Sony screwed up big time when the launched the console at $599 US they should have stuck with the $299 price point that they had with the PS1, PS2 and Sony would be ahead of the Wii right now. Also Sony sold most of their PS1's and PS2's when the price was under $199US and that's a price point the PS3 can never reach because it is full of too many expensive parts. Also why should I give you a source is it too hard to use Google.
Not really it depends on what you need. Wired>wireless, DVD's are a lot cheaper then blu-ray disc's, rechargeable batteries are dirt cheap and useful for other devices, etc, etc. For my needs which is playing games the 360 is a lot cheaper then a PS3.
Dvds can only store up to 9gb where as bluray is 25-50gb. With dvds developers have a limit of 9gb, but compared to bluray developers are given the opportunity to expand technology. Like killzone 2. Without bluray, the game wouldn't be possible. Both xbox 360 and playstation 3 games cost the same.
I don't think the xbox 360 battery kit is that cheap, they're around £15 - £20.

The only PS3 game I'm interested in is Gran Turismo 5 and that will not come out until 2010 or even 2011. By that time their will be a better (45nm) and cheaper PS3. Battery charger with 4 AA can be bought for less then $10US where I live. Disc space is overrated. RE4 which is still one of the best games this decade is less then 3GB. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the GC is less then 1.5 GB.
You can still get the other gran turismo game on the playstation 3, but I don't know the difference between this and 5, so take it or leave it.
AA batteries are cheap yes, but why would anyone want to go out just to buy one and use it on the controller? Wouldn't it be easier if you just plug it in and charge it? You can do that with the battery kit, but that's going to cost you an extra £15.
With disk space, it depends on the game itself. Games like killzone 2 are made to deliver
experience no other console can. The game is like 40gb large and without bluray, killzone 2 wouldn't exist. The extra space is there just to broaden the experience.

The X-Box 360 currently has an 8M lead over the PS3... I would think that the 360 would be doing better considering that it's half the price, but it's not. It baffles me.

And the improvements made to multiplatform titles on the PS3 aren't just small differences that we can't see.
They're things like: Higher Res Textures & Extra Content (BioShock), Loads of Bonus Material (Red Alert 3), New Characters & Online Co-Op (Ninja Gaiden 2), Faster & Fewer Load Times (Oblivion).

Nah... You are forgetting something. There's lots of cake. Each game - in this analogy - would represent a cake. Most multiplatform titles release on the PS3/360 simultaniously, but the few that take some extra time end up being greatly improved (Ninja Gaiden 2).
There's so much cake that waiting for a few extra tasty cakes on the PS3 is preferable to getting instant access to an inferior cake.

sorry. If you pay attention to sales trends, the PS3 is actually selling worse in 09 then they did in 08. Year over year decline buddy. 360 is year over year improving.
Of course it's not doing as well in 2009... Not yet anyway. In 2009 the PS3 got sales fueled by Metal Gear Solid 4, Resistance 2, and a few other very big titles.
This year all they've had so far is Killzone 2 - which will create a sales spike, but not as big a spike as Metal Gear Solid 4. Just wait for the spikes from:
Final Fantasy XIII, God of War 3, Gran Turismo 5, and the new Twisted Metal.

You might not be an RPG fan, but the significance of Final Fantasy is massive.
I would say Final Fantasy will cause a permanent PS3 spike in Japan, a moderate spike in Europe, and short term spike in North America because JRPGs are least popular there.
Given that MS knows this they will do something for Europe and NA. Either way its multiplat over there. The hardware increases will be mimimal. As for japan, guess well have to wait and see.
Halo 3 ODST? I've never heard of that, but it's not likely to cause a big increase in hardware sales if it's a Halo game. All the Halo fans have already hopped for Halo 3 & Halo Wars.

The PS3's price is what's holdding up it's sales. If Sony drops it's price to $249.00 or $300.00 they'll see a huge sales increase as more people become comfortable paying that price.

An 8M difference, and 5M of those are from the 360's headstart. That puts the 360 3M sales above the PS3 in competitive sales when it's half the price... I would call that pretty good. ^.^

The playstation 3 actually has a better sales performance than the xbox 360. Right now the xbox 360 sold 29 million units whereas the playstation 3 sold 21 million units. If you subtract 10 million away from 29 million units, the xbox 360 would've sold up to 19 million units today. Why 10 million? Because that is how many the system sold in its first year before the wii and playstation 3 came out. If it was released at the same time as the other consoles, it would've been last in the sales rank.

Killzone 2 is nothing more then another bland FPS their are tons of them. Once COD:MW2 will come out everyone will forget about it. I Guess you never played RE4 the game might be 4 years old but it still is as good or better then most games released today.

I saw and read plenty of reviews for Killzone 2 let me sum up what they said is it an above average FPS yes. Is it groundbreaking and revolutionary no. Unless I missed something please tell me how it is different from any other FPS. Also the PS3's version of RE5 has already outsold Killzone 2 so it really can't be that amazing.

It has a deep multiplayer, the levels are larger and chaotic, smarter ai's, graphics and probably more.
For resident evil 5, maybe the series is more popular which got more sales. Just because one game outsells another doesn't mean it's better. Apparently resident evil 5 isn't as good as the previous game, half if its reviews it got 9s and the other half 8s.

OK that's still nothing revolutionary or something that hasn't been done before. RE5 is good when you play it single player and great when you play it co-op. On of the key feature I look for when I play a game is that it has a great musical score and besides the Halo series all FPS have forgettable or non-existing music. As a matter of fact the original Doom has better music then most of today's FPS.

@andyswVids sure keep on believing in fairy tales and opinions of fanboys but the FACT is that the 360 was rushed into production because of a bad business deal between NVIDIA and Microsoft, which lead to NVIDIA ceasing production of the GPU for the original X-Box on August 2005 which meant Microsoft no longer had one of the key parts needed in making the X-Box.

If you think that Sony cares more about their costumers then Microsoft then your dreaming. Let's see it took a class action lawsuit against Sony before they addressed the DRE issue that plagued the PS2. Microsoft on the other hand offered a three year warranty to all 360 owners as soon as the RROD problem became widespread no lawsuit needed.

Their is nothing wrong with the playstation band except that Sony screwed up big time when the launched the console at $599 US they should have stuck with the $299 price point that they had with the PS1, PS2 and Sony would be ahead of the Wii right now. Also Sony sold most of their PS1's and PS2's when the price was under $199US and that's a price point the PS3 can never reach because it is full of too many expensive parts. Also why should I give you a source is it too hard to use Google.

Not really it depends on what you need. Wired>wireless, DVD's are a lot cheaper then blu-ray disc's, rechargeable batteries are dirt cheap and useful for other devices, etc, etc. For my needs which is playing games the 360 is a lot cheaper then a PS3.

Dvds can only store up to 9gb where as bluray is 25-50gb. With dvds developers have a limit of 9gb, but compared to bluray developers are given the opportunity to expand technology. Like killzone 2. Without bluray, the game wouldn't be possible. Both xbox 360 and playstation 3 games cost the same.
I don't think the xbox 360 battery kit is that cheap, they're around £15 - £20.
The xbox 360 is cheaper yes, but the system is not going to get playstation 3 games that you're interested in.

The only PS3 game I'm interested in is Gran Turismo 5 and that will not come out until 2010 or even 2011. By that time their will be a better (45nm) and cheaper PS3. Battery charger with 4 AA can be bought for less then $10US where I live. Disc space is overrated. RE4 which is still one of the best games this decade is less then 3GB. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the GC is less then 1.5 GB.

You can still get the other gran turismo game on the playstation 3, but I don't know the difference between this and 5, so take it or leave it.
AA batteries are cheap yes, but why would anyone want to go out just to buy one and use it on the controller? Wouldn't it be easier if you just plug it in and charge it? You can do that with the battery kit, but that's going to cost you an extra £15.
With disk space, it depends on the game itself. Games like killzone 2 are made to deliver

And the improvements made to multiplatform titles on the PS3 aren't just small differences that we can't see.
They're things like: Higher Res Textures & Extra Content (BioShock), Loads of Bonus Material (Red Alert 3), New Characters & Online Co-Op (Ninja Gaiden 2), Faster & Fewer Load Times (Oblivion).
Sales matter at the end, but until then they're irrelevant. Things that matter now are what drive affect the sales:
Software, Features, RRoD, Price Points, etc.

Nah... You are forgetting something. There's lots of cake. Each game - in this analogy - would represent a cake. Most multiplatform titles release on the PS3/360 simultaniously, but the few that take some extra time end up being greatly improved (Ninja Gaiden 2).
There's so much cake that waiting for a few extra tasty cakes on the PS3 is preferable to getting instant access to an inferior cake.

PS3 users move on to recent games, and - when there is a game that came out on the 360 first that comes to the PS3 - get a much better experiance when they play those games.

Of course it's not doing as well in 2009... Not yet anyway. In 2009 the PS3 got sales fueled by Metal Gear Solid 4, Resistance 2, and a few other very big titles.
This year all they've had so far is Killzone 2 - which will create a sales spike, but not as big a spike as Metal Gear Solid 4. Just wait for the spikes from:
Final Fantasy XIII, God of War 3, Gran Turismo 5, and the new Twisted Metal.

Well... Sort of. The release of Final Fantasy XIII will cause a huge spike in Japanese PS3 sales, and a spike in PS3/360 sales everywhere else, but the PS3 spike everywhere else is likely to bigger because:
- The 360 version will - most likely - be multiple disks.
- Most Final Fantasy fans were on the PS2 last gen.

Dude... Final Fantasy is perhaps the biggest game of all time. It's the flagship for RPGs.
You might not be an RPG fan, but the significance of Final Fantasy is massive.
I would say Final Fantasy will cause a permanent PS3 spike in Japan, a moderate spike in Europe, and short term spike in North America because JRPGs are least popular there.

-God of War 3 has a lot of PS2 fans that'll jump to the PS3 for it.
-Gran Turismo 5 - the most popular racing simulation - probably has some fans waiting for its full version.
-Killzone 2 has caused a minor spike we can't see yet.
- Twisted Metal has a pretty big jumpable fan base.
Microsoft did a good job of taking mindshare, but this "war" is far from over as far as sales are concerned.

I wouldn't say Microsoft is comfortable, but they are in 2nd at the moment. I think if Sony wanted to take that position they would just drop their price.
But right now Sony (the company) is content with profitting of the PS3 as it is now, and me (the gamer) is having a great time playing games, watching movies, and... *not worrying about the RRoD*

Counter-Drop? Irrelevant.
Microsoft's 360 is at a price that people are comfortable with. Their price isn't what's holding up the PS3's sales.
The PS3's price is what's holdding up it's sales. If Sony drops it's price to $249.00 or $300.00 they'll see a huge sales increase as more people become comfortable paying that price.
Anyone who would be comfprtable paying $149.99 for a 360 is probably already comfortable paying $199.99.

Well... If you examine the actions taken by Sony so far, and you have a decent understanding of the differences between American & Japanese culture you might come to understand that Sony does care about its consumers - at least a lot more than Microsoft.
Fans wanted: Cross-Game Chat, Home, In-Game Music, Lower Prices, More Games, Rumble, Voice Messages...
And Sony has delivered or is delivering all of those.

(U.S.) Microsoft: Capitalism
(Japan) Sony: Enlightened Capitalism
Microsoft rushed to the market to get more sales, and was totally fine with pissing off millions of gamers who would get the RRoD.
Sony execs would see that as "dishonorable" and die of embaressment.

The PS3 has more 9+ franchises - as far as I know.
LittleBigPlanet, Metal Gear Solid 4, Resistance 2, Resistance: FoM, Valkyria Chronicles, Noby Noby Boy, MotorStorm: PR.
I don't do Metacritic though because everyone knows most reviewers are biased for the 360 - which is why you 360 fans use it.
I go off of GameSpot & IGN.

That's right. What matters to us, the gamers, is everything but sales, and that includes: features, hardware, software, etc.
But from an argument standpoint against GhostMLD I can just say:
"Fine... Sales do matter, but we don't know which console will have more sales by the end of this 'console war'. The PS3 is getting an edge in everything that affects sales though. ^.^"

Yes they do. They're not like microsoft that rushed the xbox 360 so that it could be released before the playstation 3. That's evidence that they don't care about consumers like you. Sony went through this as well when they wanted a spring release, but they delayed it so that they system can be perfected. Stop defending microsoft. HeHe! The PS3 has custom soundtracks in whatever games support it, but it's not really a concern for me for two reasons:
- I generally stick to the music that came with the game. It matches better.
- In the event that I feel the need to hear something else I can pull out my Sansa Fuze.

The latest model of the X-Box 360 (Jasper) has a failure rate of around 10%. I'm afraid that 1/10 consoles failing is still a bit of a problem.
The X-Box 360 Elite was supposed to have no more RRoD at all - or so Microsoft said. Then they failed 17% of the time.
Original 360: 33.3%
Elite or Falcon Model: 17%
Jasper: 10%

Of course they would. The 360 is half the price, and if I were a parent it's the console I would buy for my kids. Unless, of course, I were a gamer too; in which case I would just let them play my PS3.
Let's see the PS3 & 360 both at $199.99; which one would sell more? I'm not worried though. The PS3 & 360 are competing closely even with the 360's cheapness.
I wonder how many of those sales are from people buying a new 360 after they got the RRoD... The PS3 has more people online. ^.^

wrong again. PSN has more members then LIVE, but SOny said that includes PSP. The PS3 only number may be anywhere from 8-10 million, wayyy below LIVES 17 million.
And lol at you pretending PS3 is 199. MS was smart and only put the essentials in the Arcade. SOny on the other hand is bleeding money forputting too much crap in the PS3. Sony is to blame for the pricing.

Uh... I don't know what to say besides "No they didn't." Last article I saw said there were 18 Million PS3 users online, and no mention of the PSP.
If the two consoles were the same price the PS3 would murder the X-Box 360 in a very brutal way. I do however realise that the extra quality is what raises it's price.
I'm not cheap though. I bought the more expensive of the consoles knowing I would be getting a "better product," and I did. The Blu-Ray alone put it a cut above the 360.

Har Har! Well that's true. It's the first straight-up correct thing you've said so far. I won't lie; the PS3 sucked when it first released, and didn't have a very hot 2nd year either.
The closeness of the PS3 to the X-Box 360 in sales is actually a testament to the PS3's success.
An 8M difference, and 5M of those are from the 360's headstart. That puts the 360 3M sales above the PS3 in competitive sales when it's half the price... I would call that pretty good. ^.^

- Then MIcrosoft released the X-Box 360 Elite and the Falcon Model; claiming that the RRoD was gone, but a study done by SquareTrade found it to be 16%-17%.
- And the Jasper model's failure rate is at 10% - according to the rumor mill. There hasn't been an official study, but that's the estimate by most people. (360 Users & PS3 Users Alike)

it is £22 for 13 months for xbox live gold and bafta games awards 360 won the most online players fact so ps3 hasnt got no were near the amount of online games i love my ps3 but only for ofline gameing unless i have a blast on killzone 2 then get lagged so for me ofline gameing ps3 rules for online gameing 360 is best but over all pc will out win all system has done and will do so good job i have all 3 systems lol
