it looks way bigger then a 55gal ! look the the size of the fish he has in there plus you can tell by the hood it has 3 openings , most 55's only have 2
& im not sure bout my other one but its dark purple with striped on it so i think its a Metriaclima sp fish or a kenyi but how big do those fishes get?
nice fish, love the pleco and red oscar mainly, ive got a sailfin pleco 10", ive decided to get some cichlids for a new tank im getting soon which will be 250l, im getting probably 6 cichlids and maybe 10 barbs. im not so sure where to get that rock stuff, if i cant find ill put bogwood in, im already going to use black sand =]. just need to ask u something though, do barbs cichlids and oscars get along fine in the same tank? because oscars can be realy aggressive they might eat the barbs
Wow!!! I have the EXACT SAME TANK, even down to the skirt around the stand!!! Used to have C.A. Chichlids, but recently switched to African Cichlids. Awesome tank my friend!!!!
lol im back to being a pain my tank is cycled and ready to go i got rid of the green texas cause he started to attack me and was probably to big for that tank anyway my new list of fish is
Sorry but that will never work with the oscar in a 65 tank. The gt, fm, and jd would work well though. Oscars are just too big and messy you would never be able to keep the water clean.
so im getting a male gt and a firemouth for the 65 gallon next week ill get them for 30 the male is around 4 inchs and the firemouth about 3 so i hope they will get along ill post some vids soon
hey guys i have a 65 gallon no fish in there at the moment and im not sure what fish to put in there i really like oscars and green terrors i went to a shop and they have a pair of oscars about 8 inch and a green terror for 40 alone could i keep two oscars or one oscar and a gt its only a 65 gallon and i dont want to overstock like some losers oh ill be running an external canister filter (EHEIM) 350 litres wich is one hundred more than the tank
I would get only one of those fish. Any two and you will be overstocked once they are full grown. oscars are huge waste producers and grow fast. Green terrors grow much more slowly.
i have decided to go with a pair of gt's which i think will fit its a 250 lt tank with a 350 lt filter and weekley water changes of 15 % and the guy there said it would be fine and he wasnt trying to make me buy stuff so i trust him
you will love the gts. Watch out though, 2 females will work as they stay much smaller (they max around 6-8 inches) but if you get two males they will fight, or if a pair they may breed. Breeding is cool but will take alot of work on your part to keep the tank clean. Just remember to judge your weekly water change percentage based off of how high your nitrates get every week. Try to keep them under 20 ppm for healthy, happy, and beautiful fish!
yeah i have previous experience with freshwater fish but not cichlids i want to get a male and a female gt or maybe a male gt and a female red devil?(any Comments) i just dont want to lose any finage as that is why i chose these beautiful fish
yeah probably a good choice though im still not sure on what to get its a 250 tank so about 65 gallons and im going to be running a 350 litre eheim external canister filter so i really like green terror any other fish you might suggest?
a firemouth would be a good fit, you could also throw in some dithers like the giant danios in my tank. Whatever you decide to go with remember the adult size of the fish, a couple of fish might look small now, but in a years time you could run out of room. Cheers!
yeah dont worry i plan well in advance lol so you think a firemouth that sounds pretty good at the aquarium they have a big male gt living with a few firemouths and acouple of oscars and a huge 7 bar frontosa the gt is like 11 inch
sorry to bother you a gain i must sound like i dont know anything at all! but i went to the aquarium and they said that the best thing for me to do would be to buy about 10 juvinelles a mixture of red devils, green terrors maybe oscars and possibly a jag and let them grow up together then work out the ones i like and sell them back to the aquarium i like this idea just not sure if it would work! eventually i want a red devil, gt and oscar in the 65 gall then i will by my 180 any comments?
srry forget the red devil i want an oscar a green terror a firemouth and a few silver dollars for my 65 gallon then to a 150 or 180 and maybe some more fish in the bigger tanks i am buying them all probably in like a month to put in my 20 gallon grow out tank before they go into the 65
haha. that is a beaut. do NOT get him a female. trust me when i tell you that if u put a female in with him, he will go super saiyan and destroy anything that gets near him.
Okay i'm impressed. a tank that big requires a lot of effort. Not only does it look like you take good care of your fish but your fish tank is amazing. 5 out of 5 stars for me. very impressive.
Wow how did you get your cichlids to not attack the small schooling fishes, there so small. Usually if a cichlid sees a tiny fish it goes and eats it.
I think it looks great how you have a bunch of schooling fish swimming around. It looks so much more realistic then just two big fish slowly moving around. Gives your tank more to look at. Great job! My green is just a tiny little guy! HA
what are the dimensions of the tank, if im correct 2'x2'x6' is 180 gal right?!
