i can't stand people going well this musician is better than this one. imo it doesn't really matter. if they are able to make stuff that goes good with the songs for their own band, what's it matter if a player in another band has a bit more talent. there are gonna be people at different talent levels no matter if they are big bands or small. why do people pick apart every little thing for every band. you're sucking the fun out making music and listening to it..

Just because Lars doesn't do fast drum tracks, doesn't mean that they are bad. Some of his slower beats sound the coolest. Like the intro to Until It Sleeps or Wherever I May Roam.

In general, Lars doesn't do anything spectacular on the kit. His peak was on Justice, and he went more mainstream along with the whole band on the Black Album. Not that that's a bad thing, but he does his job quite well enough.

not 100, and who cares, I like a lot of drummers 2, but I don't think he is horrible. He like doesn't try as much as he could on the new stuff. He could just pull a lombardo and thrash beat everything, atleast bostaph has many diff beats. Lars will accent little things in a diff way, that's what I like about him, he is way ebtter than acdc's drummer lol.

Metallica is my favorite band, but I have no qualms admitting that Lars is a lack-luster drummer. Guy can't even use a double kick. When he's on stage they have to synth it through the speakers. And if none of you believe that, look it up. That said, Metallica's music gets me through the day.

Drummers that are better than Lars are Danny Carrey, Matt Cameron, Vinnie Paul, Dave Grohl (With Queens of the Stoneage), Bill Ward, Joey Jordison. I am sure I can think of a few more but I literally thought of those names as I was typing this comment which didn't even take 30 seconds.

Not to say Lars is a bad drummer, in fact I think he was great on ...And Justice For All but he isn't the best drummer ever, don't believe me? get a drumset and try to play a few metallica songs, they are SO easy
