1984 (in album and year) saw Eddie Van Halen join a very elite group: he appeared on the top two albums on the Billboard 200 early in the year - Thriller and 1984 - which both went on to at least RIAA diamond status in the States. That feat became very rare after the early 70s. His appearance on Thriller means he also has a credit on the World's best selling album in history. PS: it never struck me before, but Dave's last little scream before the end of the video for "Jump" isn't on the album.
