Written by the great Canadian songwriter Eddy Schwartz. Look his other stuff up on YouTube and you'll likely be amazed at the number of famous artists he's written for. Plus he has a site here on YouTube!
After Paul had a falling out with Phil he went solo and this was hit first release in 1987. This was one of the best videos on MTV when I was a teenager along with other great videos from great artists from megagroups who hit it big as solo performers like Don Henley, Glenn Frey and Belinda Carlisle. In the 1980's great music was commonplace and taken for granted. There will never be another decade like that one.
Paul Carrack was a dam fine singer! What a great voice. Dude fronted some GREAT groups too.
Ace, Squeeze, and Mike & The Mechanics were all fronted by Paul Carrack.
This dude ROCKS!

Written by the great Canadian songwriter Eddy Schwartz. Look his other stuff up on YouTube and you'll likely be amazed at the number of famous artists he's written for. Plus he has a site here on YouTube!

I didn't know that! Loved this song even before I knew it was by a fellow Canuck :)

@ndirish79 Canuck? You must be thinking of someone else, as Paul Carrack is English. LOL Or were you referring to the guy who wrote it?
tall32guy 1 year ago
@tall32guy I was indeed referring to the songwriter ;) Wouldn't change a thing about how it is sung though :)

Truly one of the gems of the 80s. Paul Carrack has that distinct voice and the lyrics are outstanding!
Thank you for posting this one.

@happyhoman Paul Carrack NEVER even worked with Phil Collins to even have a fallen out with him!!!!
