  • Little shit's not doing as they're told :D

  • I think i saw this episode he got a girl to press a button to kill a cat within 1 hour. with like 5 seconds left she pressed the button. Dont worry the cat was fine it was a trick through this.

  • @CAREBEARgamerz Derren told her to not press the button (that would kill the cat) for 5 minutes. But she pressed it with 1 second left :3

  • I would not have done this. I was a very anxious child and I literally thought going to school was the End of the world and that getting told off was a death sentence.I didn't trust people. So, if I got told not to open it I probably would have not opened it, just in case.

  • @Ei3x Hah!

  • @Ei3x I feel like you :o)

  • 0:44 is that a Portal instruction sign?

  • pretty sure his name's derren

  • Kid: "A Hand came out and opened it"

    Darren: -.- riiiiight

  • The awkward moment when michael jackson comes out of the box...

  • @MonsterDill pure genuineness damn that made my day :L

  • I might try this at work...Obviously telling the children to DO their work doesn't get them to do it...maybe I'll say "Don't do your handwriting..it shouldn't be done anyway! "

  • LOL! Derren makes me laugh! ' And we brought some midgity things in to help out' Lol

  • Hahaha! Aww first time in my life i find myself saying that O_o

  • This is a version of the Marshmallow test

  • derren is a cruel cruel man

  • @xxmrwardxx if right after the box opened he had the lights turn off for a minute, that would have been cruel.

  • "A hand came out and pressed the button." LMAO how freaking awesome is their excuse, adorable little munchkins hahahaa!

  • how did they no it was a hand if it was invisible? =p

  • They must have picked pretty forward outgoing kids for this though because I was the shyest kid on the face of the planet and if a complete stranger told me not to press the red button, I would not have pressed the red button.

  • You gonna guard this, its a dumbs up button with a surprise in, Okay? Can you guard it for me. Don't thumb up this comment. Don't comment it.

  • @warchife6 fuck it. i just could not resist

  • OMG those two kids with blonde hair are freakin adorable

  • Sounds like an excuse Palin would use. "A hand came out and handed me a newspaper"

  • i saw the hand did anyone else

  • this is so funny the way he laughs, and how awfull the kids are at lieing '' A hand came out and pressed the red button'' and hes jus like ....right... -_-

i keep going over it, never fails to make me laugh. :)

  • Derren Brown is fucking beautiful!

  • DAMN THOSE INVISIBLE HANDS.

  • swoost it works

  • Derren Brown would make an awesome Dad.

  • THATS YOUR OWN FOLT CHILDREN!

  • @drwho136 That's evidence of you not paying attention in school.

  • @SqueekyStalli i Am 19

  • @drwho136 I never said you were still there.

Even worse if anything. Left school and can't spell a 5 letter word.

    Whose FAULT is that.

  • @SqueekyStallion1 Yeah he would Make a Good Dad!

i Can Spell a 5 Letter Word! Stalk IN YA FACE!

  • 1:28 the face of realisation

  • @corpsemunger lool

  • for some reason reverse psycology doesn't work on me... i'm serious i would have waited for hours on end for derren to come back because i wouldn't be pressing the button. but that's probably because most people on the internet are more mature than the kids.

  • @nemesis0778 yes, its all to do with ages - thats why Derren was appealing to Laurens childhood when he got her to "electrocute" the kitten - she needed to be in that childish, mischievous state

there wouldn't be many adults, teenagers or atleast older children that would press the button under the circumstances in this video

  • reverse Psychology....

  • an invsible hand came out, i saw it!

  • CHILDREN ARE LIARS! :D

  • stupid kids

  • God I hate kids.

  • me too, they think eerything they say is sooo important. . . and its not, well then again that's true of most people

  • lol last kids lie

  • lol at derren's impish laugh when the kids open the box and get scared. also lol at how bad kids are at lying ^-^

  • 15 people pressed the red button

  • ah man thats hilarious. "It was an invisible hand!"

  • This is brilliantly funny ! I was just like that when i was one of those midgety things ! lol !

  • Please, Darren Brown is as smart as anyone else but he has studied the right courses at college. He has got lucky with the media but Please................. he is not a genius but a student who got lucky. There are many more out there who do all the research but dont have the fame!!!

  • @wirelessboiler that doesn't make him any less brilliant.

  • @ImperialAffliction

    yes it does!

  • @wirelessboiler yeah, on a second look, I suppose it does :(

  • These little midgety things :) So cute!

  • But I have naturally itchy fingers?!

  • Thumbs up if you got itchy fingers while watching this video or after looking at my comment

  • Derren's little face at 1:13 Lol

  • well theres nothing to compare it to, so whats the point? he need a control, how the kids would've done if he didn't do negative suggestions

  • @p4cm4n182 You are right, nothing to compare. But research has shown that the percentage of children pressing the button, is about 50% lower than the children who has been told not to open it (See the book: 59 seconds; think a little change a lot). Because when people tell children not to do something, children think that that is really what they want to do, because else these people would not talk so serious and be so strict. Don't know if it will work for adults...

  • @douma4000 oh, alrgith, thanks for the info, thats pretty interesting

  • what an adorable kids!

  • From now on I shal refere to children as "midgety things"

  • Small blond boy: And we were very scared about it.....hee

  • All of you are NOT gonna watch more Darren Brown after seeing this video.

  • Don't bother leaving a comment. It's no use anyway. You won't do it

  • Lmao haha.. a few days later on my recommended for you list was ''Katy Perry - I kissed a girl video'' because I watched this video

  • Do not upvote this comment. DO NOT do it. Do not feel the need to press the thumbs-up button.

  • @Swoost I voted down. Ha!

  • @Swoost damn you :P i had to thumbs up ^_^

  • @Swoost DAMN YOU AND YOUR REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY

  • @Swoost ok i wont

  • @Swoost aaah i couldn't resist, man. Damn

  • @Swoost i give in

  • Did noone else find the little kids really cute lol, "A hand came out and opened it". Bless those little midgety things

  • @bubblet24 aha lol those kids go to the same school as me!:)

  • if i would have to qualities from 2 people in the world it would be derren browns ability to understand minds and paul ekmans ability to understand and read emotions

  • Do not fuck me in my ass and make me orgasm

  • People say he is fake! how is he fake when he stuck over 1,000 people to ther chair on live tv ?

  • Derren at 1:44 "you lying little #£%!$&"

  • i noticed while watching this on 4od that teh trick or treat thing is faked... he already decided wather they r gonna be tricked or if they r going to be treared the cards with trick or treat on it or exactly the same, if you tip the treat card upside down it says trick... so clever

  • @kebbs56 I've noticed when i comes to young girls or old women he gives them a treat because he probably assumes that they can't handle a trick but in the 2nd series the cards are different where the words are printed so they wont look the same upside down.

  • Lmao midgety things

  • lol derrens face at the end : rightt...

  • ahhh, manipulating small children.

  • Comment removed

  • flmaoz

  • this reminds me when i was in my teens i couldnt smoke cigs, and i would because of the feeling that it isnt allowed, now that i can legally do it, i dont.

  • Lovely: "A hand came out ad opened it" LOL

  • ahh those kids are so cute there faces when the snakes came out lol

  • LOL"

  • this is just an example of banning stuff from people i.e banning young people from drinking alcohol, by banning stuff like that from people, it makes it more attractive to do so. :-) Derren Brown = genius :-)

  • He said "it's a box with a suprising" pretending he said "suprise in it" that was key.

    That's suggestion interjection technique.

  • lol 'midgety things' :)

'a hand came out and pressed the button'

'oh a hand came out?' :P

  • he isnt a fake, he just understands how to read and drop hints. i went to see him last night. he was incredible.

  • Curiosity killed the toddler

  • Love Derren, went to see Enigma the other night and it was just incredible!

  • and he hit me and opened the box... that was a brilliant excuse ;]

  • lmao 'midgety things'

  • aww tht's just cruel

  • Haha that little kid when he's like, "Yeah and we were sooo scared about it!"

  • Hahahahahahaha.....

  • hahahahahha!

  • :l im a kid. and you were a kid once.

  • @mickety2001 fuck off you dumb cunt they where about 6 leave them alone not all kids are bad. your probly one of those people who think all teenagers do is walk around with a kknife and a video phone stabbing everyone laughing going "haha this'll go on youtube" yor such a cunt

  • @jarvinator100 I agree with you. Kids are just more gullible and curious when they're younger. They're only learning - it's not as if the box is electrified, is it?

  • lol

  • Thats exactly how Adam and Eve ate the apple

  • Deren Brown is the serpent...Ha ha.

  • @pikasmARTS no Adam Alay Salam And Eve May Allah Be Pleased With Her, Ate the apple In A State Of Forgetfullness.

  • Those twins! Liar, liar, pants on fire!

  • look, this man is a ledged. He spent his entire life studying. Give him a break, he's brilliant at what he does and those who don't believe are just pesimistic.

  • "invisible hand opened the box" ahah :P

  • WITCHCRAFT!

  • If you say their is a suprise in it, it has nothing to do with negative suggestions -.- ...

To test that you need something else !

  • Don't mind all the thumb downs, I thought it was a brilliant idea.

  • Don't pay me 1,000 dollars.

  • For some reason I just have this strange urgency to pay you a lump some of cash.... particularly around 1000 dollars o.O

  • @delgado4652 my po box number is *tells po box number* haha

  • hahaha that's funny! I'm going to go buy his book and see if it really works on some people o.O haha

  • @xArwenx He probably wouldn't let you. He's gay.

  • well duh, they picked the naughtiest children of the class for the test!

  • lol

  • Derren brown is genius..irrespective of the hidden truth that he like a few other magicians do use supernatural powers..

  • Yeah Derren Brown can "read your mind" as people say it by your movements what come naturally to you. which you have to be a genius to do

  • no you dont. I started watching some of Derren Brown's stuff a few years ago, began mirroring people, and within about a month of practice I could tell what emotions people around me were feeling with extreme accuracy. You dont have to be a genius to do things like this, it's natural human mechanics. Look up Rapport if you want to learn things like this.

  • thank you for that dude

  • Derren Brown is the man!

  • ' And it hit me and opened the box'

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA CLASSIC!!!!

  • I used to get told by my parents not to spill my glass of milk and drink it. And splash, I remember it sprawled on the rug many a time.

  • derren isnt fake and he isnt real

he doesnt claim to be a psychic and he denounces anything and anyone who claims to be psychic

he's just incredibly smart and understands and can read people on a mental level, what he proves really is that we are all pretty much the same on a sub-conscious level

  • v true

  • @Smitamas101, i love derren brown so much and recently went to see him live :) he did an impression of stewie because someone in the audience was called stewie :P but i recently found out that he has done it at all the other concerts and to be honest i doubt that at every gig there is someone called stewie :| he must of got them to pretend to be called stewie which is making me think that he is fake :( if he asked him to do that what else has he asked people to do for him ?

  • @xrandomgirl13x of course its possible, we never really know what goes on behind the scenes, just because he says no one helps him doesnt necessarily make it true

maybe for something like a joke like that he could get away with it, its only a little joke probably to soften up the audience... or it could be part of his subliminal prepping for the audience, i guess we'll never know ;P

  • @xrandomgirl13x He did the same thing when I went to see him...There was a box where everyone could put questions during an interval and write his name on the front...He would then tell something about the person from their handwriting. Each time he got one he said was definitely a teenage boy, and it said "Why are you a wanker" :p

To be honest though I think they're just joke opportunities to keep audience attention...Even if I did think he used stooges etc then I doubt he'd be so careless.

  • @LunarEcli That was funny I was there too

  • @Smitamas101

You just made me understand this amazing man better!

  • @Snowuk95

Yes, he is truly amazing, i think i watched everything he ever produced.

It takes a really smart men to master so many techniques and to create such wonderful shows full of mystery.

  • @Smitamas101 but we all know its a joke!

  • @Smitamas101 couldnt have said it better myself :)

  • @Smitamas101 well said

  • @Smitamas101 EXACTLY what I think. He's psychologist I would say. That describes him better than a Psychic. He is very educated in Psychology, and uses it to make awesome 'mind' effects.

  • @carbint2 No he's a magician. Yes he knows psychology... but anything involving "mind reading" or anything like that would be inherently unpredictable. Something like this is a simple trick and is one of the FEW examples where Derren doesn't use any other kind of trickery. (Though there may have been children who didn't press the button who were cut out). Only the simple psychological tricks work. The rest is sometimes clever, sometimes very obvious, magic.

  • @Smitamas101 i total agree with you and the new show he has just done (hero at 3000 feet) proofs that he isnt a fake :)

  • @Smitamas101 Quote from Derren Brown: " am often dishonest in my techniques, but always honest about my dishonesty.". " I happily admit cheating, as it's all part of the game. I hope some of the fun for the viewer comes from not knowing what's real and what isn't. I am an entertainer first and foremost". After he predicted the national lottery we knew that he had to cheat. Just makes you wonder which of his tricks are real and which arent.

  • @plecto1234 a good point well made

  • very good a child is easily confused with something like this

  • i wish people would lighten up about darren brown and stop trying to decided if hes fake or real, fact of teh matter is what he dose is very very entertaining and he is very good at it, so just enjoy it, dont worry about how or if its possible, just enjoy it

  • Derren himself says that what he does isn't supernatural and whatnot.

  • Quite true, the reason this 'negative suggestion' works is because when you say "Don't open the box", the command "Open the box" is hidden within the sentence.

It's the same reason people will look down when you say "Don't look down". Effectively, you're giving them the command to look down which they pick up on at a subconscious level.

  • I guess it's logical - we don't always read "if, is, at, and, a, don't, want" etc on a conscious level (i.e. it's filtered to space room for conscious data).

  • even when i read the words i missed a few nerrr ive been beaten ;[

  • Actually, you are not quite there.

In actual fact, as a child when you are told "not to do something", it is usually something you want to do. As a child grows into this habit of learning, the opposite also applies. When told "not to do" something, subconsciously the mind things, "Well, if I'm being told NOT to do it, I must WANT to do it". Therefore, the child does what ever they have been told not to do. This also links it to adults.

  • The funniest bit- 1:38 - I was so scared then his face CLASSIC!

  • xD

    lol and i was so scared ={

    THEN IT HIT me lol

    faces

  • "Now i dont want you to touch this or open it... Ok? Because if you do i will kill your mummy. Ok?"

    "Ook... :'("

  • The bible needs burning, everyone last one. Show me a 'god' and ill believe otherwise, until then fuck you dumb cunts who believe in something never seen.

  • your making drastic and ill prepared arguements. I do not believe but please, dont act like an idiot.

  • Why do i need to prepare an argument? I'm simply stating anyone who believes in god is a brain dead spastic 'cause they have no proof.

  • reason is, You make the rest of us atheist's look bad by acting like a child. You dont have proof that he dosent exist do you? You do not understand why people believe in such things. So please stop with the name calling etc. just make yourself look bad.

  • Half of that doesn't even make sense so i'll strip the bad spelling and inaccurate sentence making, from what you said. And i'll reply with "It's my opinion, i dislike god believers because if you believe in him, you're a fucking moron." Don't like it, don't read it.
