Didn't that bit of dialog about invading Iran seem a bit forced into the script? I mean, I agree with everything she's saying but it seems like the directors/producers just HAD to work that line into the script and when there was no appropriate place, they just "made room" for it. "Don't get your head blown off just so Haliburton can get richer." It's true. Just seemed awkward to say that during an intimate/personal moment. Was Iran even being discussed at the time? Don't know. It is now though.
I hated this Republican upper middle-class Ted character. I never understood why Claire dated and screwed him. Ted damaged the credibility of the Claire character as well.
@hyperseauton If you think so I don't think you've had many relationships. If anything, it shows that Claire can think past labels and look at the person who's really there. Sometimes you fall in love with people who don't really fit your 'checklist', so to speak, but for some reason, it just works. I actually used to think the same thing, until it happened to me. ;-)
@hyperseauton Yeah, but Ted stayed with her all night when Nate died and was a really nice guy and seemed more moderate than a tea bagger psycho. He was pretty liberal socially - he liked Claire's art and bohemian background. I know lots of couples who have completely opposite political views but are madly in love with each other so they just avoid politics in conversations. Politics has nothing to do with the heart. The trouble is that lobbyists and the media are dividing our country. Hardcore
ted is beautiful..... what made him so special is that he was not what claire expected him to be and she realized he had a much deeper layer to him and fell in love w/him..... real honest and beautiful!!!!! i miss the Fishers!!!

I fucking hated that guy so much... I feel like an asshole for saying this but i wish he would have gotten his blowen off within the first 2 episodes he was in. Alan Ball made one the greatest movies and probably the best show of all time in my book but he miscast this guy...
When they were casting for Claire, Luaren Ambrose was the last to audition for the part...and she was late for her audition. The producers fell in love w/ her, but waited a few days to inform her that she won the role as Claire, as a slight punishment for being tardy.
hey that guy is in devil! he is detictive bowden!
