Adesso all'estero tutti buoni a parlare male degli italiani...
@ytpoliticsnigga The Italians are sick and tired of this pedantic lecture from the media abroad. They all know better, don't they? and they must prove it by stroking their ego.. It's down to latent insecurity. England is not better than Italy but patronising...
@Daphnes69 because Italians never stereotype anyone do they? They never try to act superior to anyone? Your country is so damn bigoted that the North is actually racist against the South LOL! I have seen Italian insecurity and small-mindedness at first-hand, this incident also shows another characteristic of Italians - thin skin. You are fine to judge everyone else but too proud to be judged yourself or to be the butt of jokes - well tough shit.
@ytpoliticsnigga Hold your horses! Acting superior? When? at the time of the Roman Empire? Scotland wants to split from UK and I find small-mindedness everywhere, I'm afraid. We are not all the same on this earth, fortunately. The thin skin is the response of constant unhelpful criticism or cheap sense of humour. About judgement: "Who among you is without sin, cast the first stone..." Time to move on for God's sake!!
@Daphnes69 Scotland wants to split from the UK? Actually it probably doesn't which is why the SNP aren't holding the referendum yet - not that that has anything to do with this!
This Schettino guy is a joke, people dying isn't a joke but this guy and his "I just fell in a lifeboat" stuff is comedy gold so of course people will take the piss. And they will tie it in to stereotypes. It doesn't mean people hate Italy, English people hate the French they just take the piss with Italians.
@ytpoliticsnigga I start to like you know. Schettino is what he is and the conversation between the two is farcical! I mentioned Scotland as some Scottish people would like to split from Uk likewise some northern Italians would like to split from the South of Italy. It was you quoting about North of Italy being racist against the South, wasn't it? This is not just taking the piss, which on itself would be ok, but the prejudice that the media's attitude brings about.
@Daphnes69 I've lived in North Italy, I saw the political posters for Lega Nord which showed the goose laying the golden egg in the North and some gypsy-looking fat stereotype woman catching it in her laundry basket in the South! That kind of racism would not be tolerated in England you could never be that openly racist against ANYONE, this was Italians being racist against other Italians! This isn't media attitude I saw it with my own eyes, and I heard how they speak about "terroni" as well.
@ytpoliticsnigga Well, I am from the North of Italy but also half "terrona". Now I live in England and I see people looking down on others only because their hair is ginger!!! It's an utter obsession with this ginger hair! Not to mention the jokes on Irish people, oh! but of course they are only jokes... Only some are extreme not everybody! I got spat and insulted because my partner is of colour (and British).
@Daphnes69 I don't think you can compare racism in England with racism in Italy, when I was there the African immigrants had about zero chance of getting a proper job they had to sell lighters in the street and were sneered at as "vucompras". My passport is Irish, I went for a job in a hotel kitchen in Trento and I was turned down at the interview because the snob bitch said "Extra Communita"s drop too many plates, ignorant cow didn't even know Ireland was in the EC! Italy is way more racist.
@ytpoliticsnigga In fact I don't. You only quote the EXTREME examples. I know many other people who moved to Italy and had a beautiful experience on the whole. The mother of the imbecilles is always pregnant and is EVERYWHERE. If I could mention many uncomfortable experiences I've lived in UK. But I don't because it's pointless. You see I like to be surprised.
@ytpoliticsnigga Idiota, e che De Falco e' forse nato in Svizzera? Berlinguer invece era norvegese? E Pertini?

There are not italians heroes here. The captain run away from the ship way before all passengers, De Falco is just barking orders not more. The only "heroes" are the not-italian crew, the asiatic ones that because no italians officers where there took "control" of the situation. All Italians are cowards and they want to sell now a De Falco officer barking orders like a "true hero" PATETIC. Lesson: never ride italians ships.
I'm sorry, but at some point you're not informed. The Purser was on the ship, helped the passengers and he was injured and then trapped. The Coast Guard rescuers were already on the ship at the time of the call. Falco makes his work and does it well: coordinating relief and call to order the commander bastard. The divers in and under the ship are risking to try to find those missing. But who does his job well is not mentioned here. But you're behind a keyboard....
@jorgetellezperez This statement is the shortcut of your brain. There are no heros in this situation, I agree with you. But to say that all Italians are cowards is extreme! You generalise and that is pathetic too! All it takes is the bad deed of ONE man and the all NATION is condemned. Well, good for you! You learnt your LESSON!!!
@jorgetellezperez you're pathetic. DO you know Colombo? Columbo was ITALIAN and I do not think he did mess or kill anyone. So stupid English, "coward" you say to your mother not to the Italian people. Italian people are helped each other on the nave and the crew did not help anybody. I say this because my mother was on the ship. So before you speak, learn, and before you say cowardly Italians, wipe your mouth.
It`s easy to give all the faults to Captain Schettino! the Media completely destroy his image and credibility, we need to find out what really happen and listen to his side of the story, not just relay to the voice of the Port commander Captain Falco;maybe he really fell onto the sea and could not get back into the Ship ;come si dice in Italiano e` facile sparare sentenze.
@OvermarsDaria Don't be stupid, the thing is that there are different kind of jobs and all jobs have different levels of responsability, do you understand this first principle in any way? Whatever, HIS JOB, A JOB THAT HE BY FREELY CHOICE, HE CHOOSE TO BEING A CRUICER CAPTAIN, then, his job have a highers and strictly levels of responsability, and his job includes to stay on board of the ship until all the passenger had been rescued or until his major gives him the order to leave. It's Clear?
...even the deputy mayor of giglio was able to get on board and to assist the passengers rescue.
moreover, some people saw Schiettino onshore during the call (and also before) and not as he says on a rescueboat.
Beeing onboard is not an option for a captain, it is not a moral question. The LAW states clearly that the captain has to be the last one for a lot of reasons (Regio decreto 30 marzo 1942, n. 327 Codice della Navigazione art 1097, sentence up to 12 years)
hope they hear the filipino crew who really helped a lot to all passenger they are heroes
