@kll510 It--the first line anyway--is a rather silly mistranslation of "Go n-éirí an bóthar leat" which actually means "have a good/successful journey."

Think about it. If the road rises under your feet, how can that mean you're going "downhill"? Figuratively, if the road is rising under you, you are going UPhill. If you want a downhill trip, the road should FALL, not rise. It's standard metaphor. Mountains "rise," canyons "fall."
