Very poor presentation but I have agree with him, The instruction/options on the screen is too complicated. It is really a joke. A part from that, Nikon D5000 must be one of the best entry-level camera out there in term of price, functionallity & quality. I am speaking from the view of a Canon & Sony user.

True it is not an SLR, but it has an SLR size sensor and interchangeable lense, which are two of the three main factors of an "SLR camera".

1) Big Sensor (Noiseless capturing more color)

2) Interchangeable Lense

3) Natural See through lense

I think the #3 see through lense can be sacrificed for significant decrease in size and portability of the camera. The micro four-thirds configuration is a good 40% smaller than a comprable SLR with a telephoto lense attatched. Say a 500mm equavilent.

No, the future I don't see going completely Mirror-less, maybe smaller and lighter, but definitely not going obsolete. It is because mirror-prism is essential for certain types of conditions and situations , low light photography for instance. I was solely speaking as this cam being an entry level DSLR camera the D5000 or even its prospective younger brother could go mirror-less for us semi- armature photographers for our practical and portable needs. They could even build it much cheaper,
