  • I got a serious burn on my arm once from a upper radiator hose blowing off. That shit wasn't fun.

  • "Gardens" guy (green shirt) is psychic at 2:11.

  • yea id say u need a engine test stand

  • MECOS

  • is it a 350 thats in it or a big block

  • LIKE FAR OUT MAN

  • Love to see the perseverance and dedication to get it right.

  • all that for a slow truck , and this video also doesnt show you all needing an engine stand , it just shows you need to be better mechanics .

  • how would starting the engine on the stand help with wiring stuff to the cars harness wrong? If the cable melted then you dont pay attention to detail when wiring up the motor

  • 14.25@ 99.07mph is hella good in a blazer! good vid, the reactions were funny.

  • haha at 1:25 they all jumped

  • in a rush to start the thing huh. shit happens bro.

  • All that for a 14.25 et

  • Its the little shit that will eat your lunch every time

  • thats a horrible time for all the work done...

  • you check and recheck that shit. i don't know man, looks like ya'll fuck it up on a stand as well. that was rookie mistakes

  • Engine stand doesnt cure Shitty installs....

  • I don't know what that chick was trying to do under the hood but she had a big ass & some big tits tho!!!! lol

  • I dont see how an engine test stand can help sloppy installations..........

  • @ 1:25 a warm brown surprise in his shorts and a blown power valve. Nice going boys!

  • you guys dont know your wiring stuff lol and i bet its hard to wire all those sensors and gages etc :P

  • Why do people criticize? At least these guys and gal are doing something about it instead of sitting on their asses.

  • haha, with the radiator hose coming out vid, the guy in the green shirt walk away knowing something will happen :P

  • invest first in some technical education not engine stand-maybe books will do?

  • your very right! having the engine on a stand wouldn't have helped them at all. They would have done this anyhow.

  • All worked out in the end.......? you got dusted!! and a 14?? guys, this is living proof that you should never mess with your siblings!!

  • you monkeys dont know what your doing. so what difference does it make if it were in a vehicle, on an angine stand, or humping it in the middle of the street?

  • You sure the girl didn't lean her arm on the radiator hose or wiggled it? I've done it before thinking that it had plenty of time to cool off. Busted, not that bad but it did bust.

  • cletus & barney's auto repair

  • fckin idiots

  • I am a little curious as to why somebody didn't do a complete check over before starting it for the first time?

Not being critical, just safety first :) That could have potentially been a nasty explosion -_-

  • Putting a big block in a blazer or S-10 ALWAYS poses a serious cooling problem because they just don't get enough air.

  • i ran a 468 bbc in a 95 s10 blazer and the temp never ran over 190 in traffic,i ran reg fan 4.3 rad....also a mix of dexcool with water wetter..it was an awsome ride but needed back halffed to get it to hook up....

  • yea, you had it just right. did you have any internals in the 468 as far as performance parts?

the best thing you can do is run a stock rad. even a 4 core aluminum wont keep it very cool for some reason.

  • awsome vid, the nova vs blazer run...lmao

  • When the cables melted did the engie by it self or did u turn it off?

  • We shut it off after we saw sparks. There is a battery kill switch in the back, fortunately.

  • People need to chill on the smart-assed comments. If you're god at cars, go work on one instead of bitching about people who are still learning. I doubt you knew what you were doing your first time swapping a motor. BTW I love how the nova waxes the blazer while barely revving. Gotta love the good 'ol 500's.

  • Thanks man. Always nice to read a comment thats NOT critical.

  • Wouldnt let this guy anywhere near my cars.. Backyarders

  • thanks for posting

  • I absolutely agree. I would love to have a test stand in my shop. Your video seems to show preventable things going wrong as if it wouldn't have happened with a test stand. As far as the radiator problem, is the t-stat for the fan adjustable? cuz if it is you don't have to put it INSIDE the radiator, you can shove it between fins in the radiator(in a top corner out of the path of the fan) and adjust it to kick on at a lower temp. Then you could toss the shotty sleeve.

  • an engine test stand would make you less careless when you install an engine? loose hose clamps and poorly routed wires can hardly be blamed on no test stand

  • That hose clamp wasn't loose. Rather, it was the thermostat wire that came with the elec. fan that needed to be put in the radiator. It came with a slippery sleeve that went over the upper radiator inlet. A poor design. As for the starter wire, few people would have caught that, there was no room beside that header to see what you were doing. I'm not trying to make excuses, mistakes happen, it's inevitable. An engine test stand would make breaking in a new engine easier, don't ya think?

  • Why do people feel the need to be judgemental asses? Can't you just appreciate there are other gearheads out there not unlike yourself? I checked out your channel w/your 83 mustang vids. Nice car BTW. I thought for a sec about criticizing you for your timing issue. But then I thought nah. I mean you are just like me, mistakes happen. I'm not gonna get into a pissing contest & say I know more than you. Everyone's different. I think it's cool your trying to get into the 10's. Later.

  • it's called constructive criticism... it's what makes people better every day. if you know something that i clearly dont, then by all means tell me. don't get pissed off tho when somenone tries to send a little advice your way. as a matter of fact if you know the proper way to lock out an HEI distributor and set the timing i'd like to hear it cuz the racers i talk to are a bunch of retards and can't figure it out. please, criticize my work!

  • Not sure what you mean by locking out. If you mean the vacuum advance, just unplug it from the carb and put a rubber cap over the carb vacuum source. Though, you may not be using any vac advance and I'm not sure why you'd want to lock out the centrifugal. I've always just gotten the timing ball park, before firing for the first time. BTW, that wasn't really constructive criticism, it was more of an insult. later.
