He was FAR from being a good tenor, he was in he's 40's and he's voice was not over with training yet. You always have to consider yourself a student. ALWAYS. You will always learn something. The press inflated him to much, due to the lack of tenors in our generation/time.

He just died from a motorcycle accident on Monday, August 27, 2011 in Ragusa located in the south of Sicilia Island. He had a stroke while riding on his Vespa bike.
