hey i need some help i made a v6 and its supercharged SOHC the lot and im using a electric drill to power it but as i turn it on and crank it the pistons jam and bend where the joint is and i cant seem to fiqure it out i tried to lubericate it with soap but it didnt work i dont know if the conrods arnt lineing up in the cylinder or not please help

the best lube for knex is to get some graphite powder, kinda messy but works, soap will just make a mess and make it all sticking etc

i had a brain wave over the weekend i made a OHC design and it wirked pefectly smooth as silk it consists of a shaft and bits coming off it acting as cam lobes and they push down tha valves and a spring pushes it back up acting as a valvespring try just gotta get a spring that fits lol

how did you make the piston crank And did you use sraght rods if so how did you get the pistons to pump up and down straght because i build a in line 4 and i cant make the pistons move straght by the way great work love the chain work!!

i used two rods for the piston... one long one which is connected to the piston and the shorter one connected to the crank. the long rod has to be guided up the piston block by at least 2 points to stay straight. friction is also gonna be a problem so you wanna keep it low-torque, meaning shorter cranks. this way it can rev higher without jamming. well good luck!

well i based my model off of real engines i looked up online. howstuffworks dot com does a great job explaining auto mechanicss. i also used google images. its basically all trial and error until you get it right
