If you do a little more, you'll find that these programs do fall into a loophole; they take absolutely no federal funding. They came from programs such as Synanon, The Seed, and Straight, but these are a new breed. You might check out Who's Watching the Kids at the Montana PBS, I believe you can stream it.

I'm a recovering addict with 3 and a half years clean and my experience has been very positive. The nightmare was when I was using. I now for a fact that most treatment centers are in no way like it is depicked in this trailor. If you are struggling, don't let this stop you from getting help. I don't no anything about any treatment centers like this and I hear addicts stories all the time.
My only criticism is... the guy who says, "they have these loop-holes, the government can't touch them...". Government has their hands right in it. Do some research into the founders and funding of the beginning programs "The Seed" and "The Straights". You'll see where it leads. Then come all the spin-off programs following their lead.
I think it's great you bringing attention to this issue, rather than pushing it to the back of our minds for so many years, what so many of us have done for so long. Needless to say, I was in one of these "programs", one of the originals - Straight. Looking forward to the film.
Was this how the program actually was? cause this is so screwed up!!! I would beat the crap out of them if they ever did that to me.

Really an excellent job putting this film together.... Very professional.... Powerful, not powerless.
