The way the phone can crash the plane is if you make a phone call, your transmission will interfere with the radio transmission between the pilot and the tower. If the phone is just On, it does nothing. LOL Same as a gas station, if you make a call, the transmission from the phone can make a static electric spark and cause a fire in the air. But if the phone is just On, it does nothing.
I actually keep mine on too .. haha high five for being THOSE people haha.
I hate that some airlines charge for on plane beverages now!! and some even charge for headphones and pillows .. such a shame. remember the good old days when we could say goodbye to people past the gates? and when we could pack nail clippers and lighters into our carry ons?
