i think this is awesome and your very lucky to have such a cool priest if only we had priests as cool as him in Ireland it would make so much diffference, hes being real and incorperating prayer, life and young pple great idea!! well done fr.!
Paganism lives...here's the proof. The Church did not flourish by melting to fit society's rules. The most successful Catholic Churches are those which maintain orthodoxy. In New York City the church with the largest youth population is that which has all its masses in Latin. This is such rubbish.
You have no idea what I am objecting to. Resorting to personal insult does no one any justice. Keep it to yourself - I got shot at on a monthly basis as a Catholic priest in Palestine.
All I have seen from F. Stan is orthodox in every sense. He has a passion for Eucharist - and I think that says it all.
I attend daily mass in Latin, but I cannot see your point why shouldn't he use his gift for God's Glory as long as he makes it compatible with his obligations. You're right in the sense that too many priests fail to dedicate time to confess, etc. I think it's not the case.
The main reason I object to it is that it apes a culture which is profoundly negative. The problem with being young is that young people are often not aware that it has all been tried before. If it touches one soul, then sure, let it go ahead for the sake of that soul...but in terms of what it says about the broader Church? Not good. The Church needs change and I am all for that, but this is dangerous stuff and I believe it will come back to haunt him and the diocese.
I understand your point, but I don't agree with you. I think that if something is genuinely human you can always divinize it. I can't see why modern popular music should be intrinsically bad, although it is often used badly. It's like Internet - It can be the vehicule of vice, but it can also be used for marvelous things. It all depends on your christian formation and piety. If you have those, you will find the way to divinize modern culture instead of being badly influenced by it.
You guys are just soemthing else. I love Fr's accent. Of course, I was born in Stamford Conne3cticut... so I'm not from that far away. I hope you include Our Lady in some of these. God bless, Fr.
