Violen has a set pattern of ways he will throw his mace, look for it, and he is pathetically simple. Also standing on the highest block normally saves you from any damage.

Theres a mthod to beating him. Use the silk bombs to take out the connons at the begining. Notice the little platform connected to Serges machine. Once detroying the connons take out the sonic buster you get from overdrive osterich. When standing on that platform at the bottom 80% of the time you will not get hit, charge the sonic buster if you have the arm upgrade from one of the capsles, boom there ya go, hes taken care of.

When Serges said "this is impossible", I agree completely. That was a phenomenal battle. I can't even imagine beating him like that, that's one of the hardest parts in the game for me.
