kane gets better goals and he had the cup winning goal thats better then hossa and on nhl10 on ps3 i have thomas kopecky on the rockland icehogs the ahl team
nabokov seems to have a tough time judging the puck especially on the glove hand. hossa will get the odd shorty. its just his kind of goal. hahaha hat trick of shortys the expression.
I am hoping for the Blackhawks to beat San Jose in the western conference. Man I hate San Jose their citys favorite sport is sun tanning. However I am hoping Montreal wins the Cup this year and brings old Stanley back to Canada.
Yeah I was at the 1. Pissed me off so much, we out shot the crap out of them that night, and wouldn't you know it we get beat by a shorty. How many total short handed goals did these 2 score on each other combined.
No, because they could have lost their first-round series vs. Nashville or their first two games against Philly in the Finals. The Flyers had much more dominance over their opponents than Chicago did. Plus they came back from a 0-3 deficit to eliminate Boston in the semi-finals.
@latinodude85 at least tell me your not a red wings/canucks/st. louis blues fan. btw the flyers may have came back from 0-3 but the hawcks have came back and won from a 5-3 deficit
I am a huge Sharks fan but Hossa has always been one of my top 3 favorite players ever since he was with Atlanta. Very happy for him and the Blackhawks.
@Chargersman77 There's no way the Big Buff is going anywhere with the way he has been playing. I don't understand how anyone who watches the Blackhawks would consider getting rid of him. The fowards that should be worried are Fraser and Ladd, due to their low point generation this season. Either way, Sopel has to go. He is slow, doesn't move very well, and you can see his problems when he's paired with Hjalmarsson or Campbell.
@gdavies4 true...but at the same time there are others out there who would take less to play for a contender. I like Buffer a lot but he only seems to really show up against the Canucks. How many pts did he have last year against Calgary and DET and against NSH this year? I'd hate to lose that versatility with him being able to play D if there is an injury, but there are other big bodies who can screen who have decent hands...Holmstrom may have a few years left...
@jimih64 you want to see a dirty player?? look at ovechkin or kronwall, hossa is not a dirty player and so what? if you were a hockey player wouldnt you want to win a cup. he is an amazing player and he has brought so much to every team hes on, one player doesnt win the cup...a team does. btw..im a girl, but nice try.
@dlee251 lol I didn't mean dirty in terms of his playing, I meant he's just a really dirty whore.
Hockey is half about the team spirit and integrity. The fact that he jumped between three extremely skilled teams in three years shows he has none of that.
By the way, Kronwall isn't dirty at all. But you're very right about Ovechkin.
@jimih64 ohhhh okay sorry ! i can see why you could hate that he jumps from team to team but he just signed a 10 year contract with the hawks i believe...so his days of hopping are done. but hes a great player and deserves some respect. i guess im baised on kronwall cause what he did to havalt.
@dlee251 lol well I'm happy for him for finally finding a team he's happy on. I'm not at all bitter that he left Detroit. The day I read that he signed with us, I said to my brother, "Watch him leave if we don't win the cup in the next two years." Didn't even take that long XD.
Yeah, that hit was brutal. Technically clean, but just all-around unfortunate how it played out for Marty.
@jimih64 hahahh well thats good. no point in being mad at something you cant change. but it does stink cause he is a good player. yeah it pretty much ruined havalts carrer and that stinks for him and the hawks cause he was good.
@jimih64 Dude, I don't want to start a huge argument, but that hit by Kronwall on Marty Havlat was not clean. Kronwall jumped into Havlat so that was definitely charging not interferance like the refs ruled it but it was definitely a charge. Kronwall is dirty.
@fffresshRice Oh my god, this again? First of all, Kronwall didn't even leave his feet until after contact was made. He wasn't taking any strides as he hit Havlat either. So no, it's not charging at all.
Secondly, not one of the four referees or linesmen had an arm up on the initial play. It was only decided that Kronwall would be penalized after the home crowd bitched about if for five mintues.
You're dumb, and you don't know hockey. The fact that you added "Kronwall is dirty" to the end of
@jimih64 your comment, based on a single play, shows that you're just bitter about Havlat getting destroyed. Yeah, it sucks that he got fucked up on the play, but he was skating around with his head down. He should've expected it.
@jimih64 Charging - A minor or major penalty shall be imposed on a player or goalkeeper who skates or JUMPS INTO, or charges an opponent in any manner.
Kronwall JUMPED INTO Havlat. Therefore, Kronwall's hit on Havlat = Charging. Kronwall has a habit of jumping during his hits. Watch some highlights of him hitting. Hence, Kronwall = dirty player.
@fffresshRice No dude, I already explained this. He has sloppy hitting technique. He's not dirty. There's a distinct difference. Sloppy is jumping on your hits. Dirty is slightly extending your elbow as you skate past someone so you catch his jaw knock him out a la Pronger. Pronger is dirty. Avery is dirty. Claude Lemieux was dirty. Kronwall, is absolutely not dirty. Sloppy, and leaves room for improvement? Yes. But dirty? No way.
@jimih64 are you a fucking retard? "Sloppy is jumping on your hits" umm actually no you fuckin idiot jumping is an illegal hit, its called CHARGING you dumbass, look in the rulebook. Kronwall is dirty as all hell and you know it. Lol Jumping=sloppy...Its charging
@malteserule hockeys my life man, play watch, my religion. And I know that when you jump into someone its a charge, and thats a penalty, Kronwall is just a pussy.
@Smeags11 he knocks people down like a mofo when he wants to level somebody lol and i HIGHLY DOUBT you could knock me out lets stick with hockey ok there body because i would school you anyday anytime
@Smeags11 Jumping ON your hits, not into. Kronwall puts a lot of upward momentum into his checks, and for that reason, almost always leaves his feet after making contact. But on the Havlat hit, as with many others, he doesn't jump BEFORE contact, which is what deems a charging call. He jumps well after making contact, which also happens to be a natural result due to physics. You're a moron; move along.
@jimih64 The call on Kronwall Havlat hit wasn't even charging it was interference because Havlat had yet to posses the puck and they considered it a major penalty. The lines man must wait until play is dead to make that call. Lastly if a major penalty results in an injury the player is ejected and given a game misconduct. Yes by the rules lot of Kronwall's hits are dirty but from what I've studied in sports management they won't call most of those because it sells tickets.
@Kartracer6 Hahahaha, I know, but the interference call is absolute bullshit too. This is simply because Havlat acted as if he were about to take possession of the puck. Instead, he simply let it glide between his feet, but he planned to take possession about half a second later. Regardless of penalties, he was skating around with his head down, and got his shit destroyed. He's a moron for not keeping his head up; any player or coach will tell you that.
@jimih64 how was it bs? you have to wait until the player gains possession of the puck before hitting them. The reason why you can't hit before is because of the exact thing that happened. . I mean you have to look down for that brief second to get the puck especially when the puck is out of control like it was. I don't think Kronwall intended to hurt him but he did admit he hit him to early and the rulebook just followed suit. Don't hate the player hate the game. Refs went by the rules
@Kartracer6 Look, you obviously know your hockey. You and I both know what interference is -- that hit was NOT interference by any means. Havlat misled Kronwall into thinking he was going to touch the puck; by the time he was committed to the hit, there was no chance in hell of stopping himself. Yes, Havlat had to look down to locate the puck, but that doesn't change the fact that he had his head down. I have nothing against Havlat; he's a great hockey player. Kronwall simply got jipped, though.
@jimih64 by the rule book the call was technically correct. Havlat was still trying to get the puck to his stick. Kronwall admitted he mistimed it and he realized he was going to miss time the hit before he made contract. When a hit like that results in an injury you gotta expect a game misconduct. No suspension was in order for the hit but being ejected. That's just what the rule book says. I don't think his intent was to hurt havlat by any means I just think he messed up a hit.
Actually one of the well, unwritten rules for interference, as Hal Gill says, is that if a player who hasn't yet picked up the puck like Havlat did, is if his head is up then he is considered in possession and if his head is down he is still probably trying to locate the puck so he doesn't have possession. Now Havlat never once faked at the puck he just lead the puck. Maybe it took a slow bounce of the boards but Kronwall needs to notice that and adjust to that and just play the loose puck.
And btw how is hossa out for just money if he signed with the wings when the Pens offered him more. So the wings couldn't afford him for another year, thats not his fault, so Chicago offered him a long term contract, thats what he wanted, a long term contract with a cup worthy team. Only after did Detroit offer him a contract that consisted of quite a pay cut. He wanted a cup and deserved one before he retired. I'd rather a player who wanted the cup even if he only stayed one season.
I could agree with that. Kronwall's role on the team is to hit, to fire up the crowd and the team with a big hit, however they guy does make a lot of illegal hits that can and have injured players with bad hits, but seeing the kinda guy he is, I never believe his goal is to injure people on purpose. Either way I really wish the NHL would crack down on him to either correct his hitting or find a different role for him.
