  • the green in your eye scares me..thanks bro how long is the waiting time for subdomain approval?

  • can you help me please! i have putted my files in the correct folder of you;re site but it now shows: a couple weird links and as the top text INDEX / .....i deleted the index.html because i made my owns site! please help me

  • when you see those link, starting with "index" its because the web server does not have a handle on a web page. Make you own index.html file and put it in public_html.

  • When you talk, you seem worried or out of breath, anyway... THANKYOU FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • Hey cool vid man... Da effects are nice.

  • Is it possible to use your own Domain name with this hosting service, and also would I be able to use my own domain name with x10hosting as well?

  • yes, 000webhost and x10hosting both let you do this. Forward the registered domain to either the 000webhost or x10hosting nameservers and then go into the "parked domains" section of 000webhost or x10hosting to set it up.

  • what software did you use for your animated background thing?

  • Hmmm. I use lots of different programs and anything I do in one program can be done in another. I used adobe visual communicator for this, BUT it COULD have been done in After Effects, or Sony Vegas Studio, etc. What you need is a program that does whats called chroma keying/blue screen/green screen.

  • it's ok i fixed it simple mistake in gmail email address.

Once agian thanks for your help

  • k cool. np.

  • thanks so much

  • awesomesounds good however when i tried to verify my 000 web host email for the gmail "send as" i get a message delivery notification failure and there for i cannot verify my account.

    Sorry

  • you have set it up wrong then. One sec, i'll show you a screen shot...

  • Thanks

  • I'm glad you asked this question becuase I didn't have an answer and this IS important.

PRE April 25, 2008 000webhost account have cPanel AND hosted email, as so also have email forwarding.

    POST April 25, 2008 00webhost account DON'T :( So, what to do?

First, make an email forwarder at 000webhost to point to a gmail account. Then go make the new new gmail account (I don't really mean to endorse gmail, I just tried it here first)...

  • Change the "Send mail as:" field to match your your 000webhost email forwarder account. gmail will confirm by email your 000webhost email forwarder account, which just forwards back to gmail. Confirm, and then make the new "send as" field the default. You can now send email from gmail and all emails will appear to have come from your 000webhost "email". Also, email sent to that 000webhost "email" get forwarded to your new gmail account...

  • Now go into gmail and set up "Vacation responder". Why they call it that is beyond me because it is actually much more useful than for just "i am away" responses. Make a new "message received" response :) Unfortunately you CAN'T do the cool

%subject%, %from%, etc tags that you can use in other email autoresponders :( but it works well otherwise.

  • more pieces of info to consider:

1)x10hosting still has full email with autoresponders, BUT it has other problems so I won't say that it is better than 000webhost, just better in this regard

2)the gmail solution detailed above is actually a better solution. gmail (and whatever email service that can do the procedure above) is MUCH better than hosted email. Why? The interface is much better and, more important, it actually gets through hotmail spam filters.

  • this is so important that I am going to make a tutorial on it shortly. Thx again for bringing it up.

  • >>>"Change the "Send mail as:" field to match your your 000webhost email forwarder account. "

    This is a gmail setting!!!

  • hi i have been with 000 web host for about a month and a half now great service however a bit of down time. I discovered thiss service through this video so thanks. But i am now looking for and auto responder and was wondering if you no any way to get this for free with 000 webhost.

Thanks any help would be geat.

  • I'm working on a solution for you right now. The answer is a little complicated.

  • cheap web hosting at thundersupport(dot)com,

99p per month, u get 2gb Storage and 250GB Bandwith and many extras.

  • Thx for the tip. I tried it out and followed your other tutorials and now I have a Joomla website ;)

    Thank you

  • 000webhost IS FUCKIN PISSIN ME OFF ITS A GAY HOSTING SITE TO MANY ADMIN REVIEWS AND THE WEBSITE DOSENT WORK FOR HOURS AT A TIME SO FUCK IT!

  • Please, is that language necessary?

How long have you been signed up for? They lay on a few admin reviews at first for obvious reasons.

Also, even paid hosting goes down: I'm on godaddy and namecheap and neither has been much better for uptime.

  • try x10hosting as well. They are very good.

  • Anyone who needs web hosting we offer web hosting 1 gig space 20 gig bandwidth 1$ per month - Message me on youtube

  • x10hosting . com is way better noob!

  • Actually, I give a referral to x10hosting in the video description. I also go over some of the problems with x10 in the comments. Noob? Just using that word is revealing, my friend. Maybe take the time to read and thanks for coming out.

  • Please also keep in mind, 000 offers 100GB of bandwidth, which is more than enough. x10 offers 10GB of Bandwidth, which can be chewed by even a medium sized community in under a month.

I recommend unlimitedmb . com - they offer 500GB Bandwidth, PHP, SQL, the fastest servers around for not a peny.

  • thx for the tip. I am always on the lookout for "new" (to me anyway) free hosts.

And yes, that 10GB (only) bandwidth at x10 is something I have pointed out many times.

  • why my forum deleted....i hosted a forum that contains RPGs and Online games

  • If you were hostng "warez", that is against their terms of sevice. That kinf of thing is also contrary to the terms of service of my paid hosting (namecheap . com). Otherwise, I have no idea.

  • well i just upload vbulletin files and after i setup it and add some category and forum...i go out to take a break when i came back they are checking it..

  • There is a HUGE crackdown on pirated copies of vBulletin going on industry wide right now. vBulletin is now aggressively going after forums with pirated copies (it is EASY for them to tell as vBulletin REQUIRES registration, and so if you didn't register. they KNOW you have a pirated copy). They have been lobbying ALL hosters, free AND paid, and are having them shut down. As such, hosters are becoming progressivley pro-active in their efforts to simply shut down such sites immediately.

  • I'll check this one out asap

  • cosohostingservices (dot) 0lx (dot) net

    Is much better

  • Please provide more details. WHY is it better?

I will check it out tonight and let everyone know what I find out.

  • Here is the comparison...

Disk space is the same as 000webhost, but has only 10GB bandwidth vs 100GB on 000webhost.

    cos has 7 db's per account, 000webhost only 2.

cosohostingservices' file manager has a 2MB file limit, 000webost has 5MB limit.

Uploading via FTP gets around this restriction, but here is the clincher :

I averaged only 21kB/s on cosohostingservices versus 66kB/s on 000webhost. cosohostingservices is PAINFULLY slow.

  • and here is the big one:

at 000webhost you will get something like:

    yourname . web44 . net

    at cosohostingservices you get:

    yourname . cosohostingservices . 0lx . net

    UGLY!!!

cosohostingservices has a peppy front end and 7 db's, but does not measure up otherwise.

  • 1 more BIG thing...

I ran an ftp upload test to test file size limits:

cosohostingservices apparently runs a php script that DELETES any uploaded file that is over 4MB. cosohostingservices strictly enforces its file size limits! 00webhost does not do this.

  • No cpanel...

    Not much bandwidth.

    Not Much Space!

When x10hosting fixes it's stoli server I'm going back!

  • I just signed up for x10hosting and I AM pretty impressed.

BUT, I seriously doubt many people will be interested in their higher bandwidth/more space "AD ENHANCED PLAN" (ie, they put advertisements all over you site) and so will opt for the ad free option which, unlike you state, has exactly the same bandwidth (100GB) and space (300GB) as 000webhost.

What x10hosting DOES have over 000webhost, though, is a fully featured cPanel implementation. It also allows 3 DB's instead of 2.

  • Sorry, my bad, lets make SURE i get those numbers right:

    000webhost:

space: 300 MB (it says 250 but it IS 300!!!)

    bandwidth: 100 GB

    x10hosting (ad free option)

    space:300MB

    bandwidth:10GB

Those are the definitive numbers. As you can see, 000webhost wins. Also, while signing up for x10hosting you will be subjected to over 10 pages of advertisements, meanwhile x10hosting's slogan is "corporate free hosting for the masses". Huh?

  • While signing up I even had a pop-up for a porn site. No less than 5 seconds after signing up at x10hosting a received a spam solicitation email from e-on software (which is actually a good company, but that's beside the point). Coincidence? I REALLY doubt it: I have never received email from e-on software and i RARELY get spam. "Corporate free"?

x10hosting also makes a BIG deal about you ever even storing (not even hosting) copyrighted material.

  • is x10hosting better than 00webhost? hmmmm. x10hosting IS better than any other competition I have seen to date. x10hosting also doesnt have the ridiculous file size limitations that 000webhost has. BUT, x10hosting, like I said, will be all over you if you ever store copyrighted material, so what's the point really of having the ability to have larger files? Close call, I might even give x10hosting the edge if it werent for the fact that I simply do not trust them anymore after the spam.

  • I don't get alot of spam form them(when I was with them)

+ use safari built in poup blocker and it owrks fine :D

  • I must admit that to date I have seen no increase in spam email other than a sudden flurry of emails from "stylefeeder . com" I have no reason to believe that x10hosting is responsible for spam emails other than this one persistant vendor and that initial e-on software email.

  • Regarding web browsers/pop-up blockers, Safari is TOO heavy handed. Internet Explorer supresss and warns when certain pop-ups are encountered, such as mouseover event invoked ones, but Safari will simply ignore it. A mouse over pop-up could easily be devious work, but it could also be a very useful thing. That Safari simply ignores it, and considering a developers need to develop cross browser applications, well Safari just took away a really good tool.

    ...Firefox and Opera fail miserably.

  • Anyway, thanks for pointing out x10hosting. Again, I'm not conviced that it is better than 000webost, but it isn't worse, and it is certainly better than any other competitor I have seen to date.

    Rgds,

    alex

  • what do you need to know?

  • There are restrictions on the Databases although I don't care because I only use PHPBB3 and WordPress. Great Video!

  • Yes, there is a 2 database limit. Further, whereas on the old system you used to be able to have multiple user accounts per database, you can now only have one super user per database: an admin account that interfaces between web app and db which is usually enough as you store your website users in the actual database. There pypMyAdmin for MySQL is also rather fully fledged. All in all, their current implementation is still very versatile and overkill for what must people need.

  • thank you man

  • nice tutor..i like it So fair ;)

  • thx for vid the web hosting page is awsome
