I'm not sure which stunt he did but he got hurt & had to wear cast. So the injury was real.

During filming of a stunt on the ep Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things. while filming the next ep, even though his arm was broken, he left it w/o a cast. the writers then wrote in that Sam broke his arm during a Hunt at the end of said next episode
