Waikiki is definately a nice place and you have to visit it, but don't spend all your time there being sucked into the countless abc stores. Explore, go to some local beaches like Makap'u the water there is nicer than Waikiki.
Can you imagine! I got a room in the Royal Hawaiian (the pink one in this video) for $13 per night! That was in 1962. There were no tall hotels on Waikiki blocking the view of Diamond Head then. Mellow!

Sure, why not? Ry Cooder played on the album and his slide guitar style sounds a bit Hawaiian style. Just thought the song fit the scenes.

I came back a month ago. I did go to other beaches and around the island. i went to Hanauma bay and Waimanalo, sunset beach, and many other places.

It's Cuban, "Murmullo" by Buena Vista Social Club. Sounds a bit Hawaiian because of Ry Cooder's guitar playing style.
