@yeahlasley Yes it is. If you have shitty pickups or a shitty fretboard getting a good sound or feel is nigh impossible.

@yeahlasley 90% of the sound comes from the heart and soul of the player. If you're crappy player, you will sound crappy no matter what equipment you have. On the other hand, if you're advanced player, crappy guitar will limit you the most. Bent neck, worn frets, dull sounding pickups or bad intonation, it all limits you. At the end, there's the effects and amp. So how do you make say pinch harmonics sound amazing if they don't even come out of the shitty guitar?

@RockinScene well,maybe you don't have good(i mean quality) pickups + not enough distorion. I bought my guitar for 500$ and this is low-end class, so there you cannot find good sound(of course if you hear it)

@OutsideTha9 just lay your fingers lightly over the strings, just one finger will do. take two to three notes, open b string, frets 2 and 4 of b string and do quick un picked hammeron/pulloffs... easiest way is to just start on 4 pulloff 2 pulloff open, hammeron 4. play around with it its fun.

@TheMosseh Its cause he has guitars like that already. If you have one guitar with EMGs you dont need another one. EMGs take away all the tone and make it all metal. The regular V shape is just old anyway, and when your imitating someone with the same stuff he has its kinda lame, but thats just me i guess.

@tomworshipsthecrue dimarzios are cool. I like the passive emgs. They have a distinct glassy sound that you cant really get from other pickups. Its a pickup that cant be used for everything but it'll sound really good in certain contexts.
