ok...i ran barefoot for the first time and was stupid enough to get a runners high and ran way to long...killed my feet and couldnt run for a couple of months. i am going to get back into barefoot running now. its winter so i run indoors and during the summer i run with vff shoes. i don't want to get hurt again. so, you say 5 minutes a day for the first week and ten minutes a day for the second week. do i just keep doubling it every week? or add five minutes each new week?
I have to admit, I found your videos randomly, and have no real interest in running barefoot (I bike/trike, and my tires have gone flat too many times ;) which leads me to... ) but how do you keep from cutting your feet open?
I started running barefoot and got the most blisters on my feet of my whole life. My hands had worse blisters from monkey bars though. I didn't mind these blisters because they all wore off after a few days.
Nice vid, but... YOU ARE RUNNING ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD! You should always run on the LEFT side of the road, so you can see oncoming traffic. That way there's a lane between you and the cars that come up from behind you.
@meebit ........that's true, but it looks like an inside curve. I usually switch to the "wrong" side in that case. I don't know why I feel compelled to defend her. No idea at all. :)
I started running barefoot about one month ago, first two-three days i ran for only five minutes, then I increased to about 30 minutes (about 4.3 miles/7km) and have been doing it ever since. I can not increase much more cause my calves gets too tired.
ppl are so week only 5 minutes a day im 13 and i jog 4 miles barefoot day and i did it on my first try

Hmm, I might try this, not sure though, running is good for you either way, so I might just keep running normally? Thanks for the information though

Why do people need to give out their email address to access any sort of useful information on your site?

in my experience also add walking barefoot, that is very strengthening and a good preparation for running.

Any suggestions on how to avoid blisters while running on wet sand at the beach? or do my feet just have to get used to it?
