The problem of course is this nationalistic appeal to consumers has a lot more traction amongst Americans than Canadians. So if we do it, they will say, they're doing it, let's do it. And then our economy is mired in a lot of do-do, indeed. Buy what's cheapest and let competitive advantage sort things out.
Buy a Blackberry! They're awesome and Canadian! And how about the government invest more in the CBC rather than bailing out Canwest and CTV that will just use money to flood Canada with trashy American shows? :)
