Absolutely the best fusion of sight and sound of any show, ever on TV. Incredibly well done, I can see the reflections in that hood as if they were today. This is art better than anything that can be seen hanging on a musty wall in the old world.
This is probably the best moment in a TV show, ever. I don't remember the 80's, i was born in them, but i love the 80's, the music, the style..... just bought all the dvd's of miami vice and can't stop watching them. too bad it's such a weird, artless, money driven, talent-less pop culture now..
que buena serie lastima que en los canales de aire no la dan mas pero muy ,muy ,muy ,muy buena serie y la ultima pelicula que al filmado en el 2000 no los mismos protagonistas estaba bien interpretada que buenos tiempos gracias
Yes, I haven´t even seen the so called Miami Vice movie, I will never do it! I was18 years old when Miami Vice came in 1984 and yes the 80´s was really Happy days! I agree with you about this decade must be one of the worst. I wish I had a timemachine, I would go back to the 80´s.
The 80´s. this brings back memories. those were the happy days. it feels so long ago. You all who was around that time know what i´m talking about, right.
You are totally right that the 1980's were the happy days and it does feel like it was very long ago. I grew up in the 1980's on real Miami Vice (not a fake movie rip off of Miami Vice) and it was the greatest show and the greatest time. It makes me sad when I realize that things will never be as great as they were in the 1980's ever again. This current decade sucks and must be the worst decade ever.
I think the worst decade had to be the 70's..imagine all those great 60's muscle cars...and the govt says..we are going to stick pollution control devices on every vehicle..that killed the muscle car era...imo
Even though the Ferrari was fake it looked cool. I'd rather have a real one myself but they're so rare and pricey. I saw a real Ferrari Daytona covertible go for 1.5 million at a auction on tv. Considering what the show wanted and they wanted a car they could tear up in car chase scenes, I could see why they used a Corvette based Ferrari lookalike. We'll at least they used a real Ferrari in the later seasons.
Another giveaway are the door handles. The original Daytona has small chromed ones on the top end of the door while the replica has Mondial Door handles. Btw...it´s a 365GTS/4 not GTB. B=Berlinetta, S=Spider. Sorry for nitpickin ;-)
The car was a replica Ferrari 365GTB4 Spyder built from a McBurnie kit on a corvette chassis. The give away is the Corvette windshield which is a little too rakish but is without 'no draft" side windows which were present in original Daytona coupes and Spyders. The Ferrari V12 exhaust note was dubbed. In the mid to late 80's an original Spyder could sell for around a Million US!
Only very few things are "more" eighties than Miami Vice is....fuckin great stuff.
This scene is as epic as it gets, to me this is pure Art, the music, the camera angels, the setting at 1:25 is like a painting. It´s pure "eithyographie"
great to see this clip...used watch miami vice religiously when it first came out in ireland in the 80's as a youngfella..now I can see why...it had some great evocative scenes
Michael Mann has always used music to advance his story, even if it's only to move it forward in "slow motion", giving the viewer time to think and savor the moment. From Miami Vice and Crime Story to Manhunter,Last of the Mohicans,Heat,The Kingdom, etc. Masterful. Very Kubrick-like. A real genius in the art of film. Thanks for the video !!! Peace:-)
This is the coolest video. Every time I hear this song, I recall Miami Vice. I think that's the first time I heard it. I'm so glad someone posted it on YouTube. It's truly a CLASSIC!!!
A GF of mine in Miami had family that catered Miami VIce, and her dad and Don Johnson took pictures in this car, and of her dad in it alone. Great memories.
Sounds like something a kid would say, I used to be the same way, you gradually begin to realize it's only some humans that are complete shit...the other 20% of us are ok.
1980-83 were extension years of the 70s in terms of tv. most of the top rated shows of that era were all 70s shows)dallas, the jeffersons, three's company, etc.) on september 16, 1984, the eighties as i remembered it began. the show that defined the decade..period. virtually every dramatic show that follwed owes a debt of allegiance to miami vice.
Loved this show as a 9 year old. This was my Friday nights back then, and remembered how much I wanted to go clubblin with my older brothers and sisters because this really defined the night life in terms of music. Especially Crockett and the pastel sports coats.....LOL....gotta love them 80s
thats my dream car man , it cant get any better than that . and ive seen every episode of miami vice , it was sad , angry and all that crap , but its the worlds best show ive ever seen
Can someone help me ?? I`m looking for title one part of this serial. I remeber just one action.
I think it was night,
Sonny shoots to starting helicopter and crash it.Inside was dangerus man with Sonny`s girlfriend or his wife ? Sony is collapsed. I dont remeber but i think he didnt want to do this but he did .Music was awsome !
Miami Vice Phil Collins a cool car even though its a copy and the 80's you just cant get any better than this. New Miami Vice film was no way as good as this and nothing ever will be...
The episode is titled "Out Where The Buses Don't Run" and the song "Brothers In Arms" near the end of the episode where they find Tony Arcaro sealed up behind a wall.
And Ladies and gentleman, now, I'd like to introduce you to exhibit-B, the "Death and taxes" episode moments of Magnum PI with the song "Mama" from Genesis as background music.

Well PowerToker, here's a nice chance to change your perspective on life, cuz Phil has totattaly denied that story.
Yes, there are injustice types of people, but the world itself is not.
Phil got dumped and just wrote some words down, nothing more, nothing less.
