  • This is probably one of the best simple tutorials for Game Maker I've ever seen. It's quick, it's straight to the point, and does a good job telling what it needs to tell without blabbering.

Also, the Wii music was nice backing, I don't know if that was intentional or not though.

Good job, and thanks for the help.

  • sounds like someone is making a Mii in the background lol

  • playing wii xD

  • mii channel music :D

  • is there a way to loop the path? like when it hits the left side of the room it teleports to the right side and starts the path again

  • is there a way to make a path 3d, like with depth lenght and width instead of just length and width?

  • thanks for the intro!

  • "Relative" in the pathing slection means if it starts at absolute coordinates or in relation to the objects current position. Simply, does it start from the x and y indicated when making the path (absolute) OR does the path's start MOVE to where the player is? (relative)

  • Tissu?

  • Tissu?

  • Lol I was trying to make my object move in a path but once I learned to make the room appear it was so much easier setting it EXACTLY but it will take me ages to finish my game now that I have to out of 50 levels make stuff go in paths and whatnot

  • LOL mii music

  • why do ppl always put an underline for a space when naming rooms and objects, do you have to?

  • @44eelz you don't have to but its just alot easier for the developer. For example, if I had a sprite and I named him "player" and then I had an object and I named him "player", if I was writing code and said "player.x += 1", which am I referring to, the sprite or the object? So if you use "spr_player" for the sprite (spr stands for sprite), and "obj_player" for the object (obj stands for object), you would be able to tell the difference.

  • a while back i found out reletive means, what i would say as 'from where it is'

so if you made the path farther away from the object, if it was absolute it would do the exact path, but reletive would make the path, but the amount of pixels the object is away from the path,

  • wii music in the background

  • Oh yeah!

    Thanks

    =D

  • may i recemend you use cam studio

  • Thaaaaaaanks alot I never had annnnyyy Hope of knowing How to do the GM path until NooooW You should Do more Vids on Help

    Kieran xx

  • me too

  • mii channel!

  • because u said u didn't no the difference between absolute and relative like all the other function of game maker relative means from objects position the absolute would make the object automatically go to the start ofd the path which is why your player went offscreen even tho the path was on-screen :) write back so i no u read this :)

  • thankes pal

  • now i can make ''ai''

  • thanks

  • lol wii

  • Hey thanks for the video. I was trying to figure out paths for a while now.

  • lol l can here the wii going of at the background lol

  • but he's moving automatically. thats not what i thought a path would make.

  • how do i make multiple paths to multiple objects, but objects the same type???

    Please reply!

  • So u mean 2 paths 4 to seperate objects

  • make all the different paths, and you have to make the same object over and over again, so that each object can run a different path.

    (you can duplicate objects)

  • Thats the music from the Nintendo Wii

  • Actually Yeah it is lol

  • lol do you have a cold

ur always sniffing but thanks good vid

  • lol yeah i did have a cold lol

  • @KiwiHardy damn my nose, i need to sniff all year long.. all day long O-o''
