  • Pro Wrestling... WWE Mouse Version

  • i was waiting for someone to step on him?????

  • do these carry any diseases? cause my cousin caught oneand is keeping it

  • @puffwad i know that they can have rabies

  • @kingkevin1996 deer mice are one of the cleanest mice. The only disease to fear from deer mice is the hantavirus, which is kinda rare, and avoidable but not touching there urine and feces and keeping your hands clean. You can get lyme disease too, of course, which is expected from almost any wild animal. Bubonic plague too, if they have fleas, but that is treatable now with antibiotics.

  • I caught a mouse last week, and was aprox. 4" w/o the tail.I thought I was mice free.I now caught 2 at one time but they look different. They are about 1.5 inches w/o the tail and they dont appear to be as skiddish as the bigger mouse.Do you think I have to species of mice,or are these juvenile mice? The first one I let go in my back yard but the two tiny mice I am keeping as pets.I cannot resist their addorable faces.Ethically,am I doing the right thing?I feed them all types of nuts, seed, fruit.TU

  • Awwwwwe!! :D its unbelievable how he wasnt afraid. A regular mouse would either ran faster than the speed of light, or bite the hell out of your finger.

  • I just snap trapped four of those little bastards in my basement then I read how they carry the Hanta virus and lymes disase both are deadly you shouldn't handle those rodents !!!!!

  • @MrTeslasRevenge I think the Hantavirus got to your brain.

  • I just found one of these little guys in my living room, he is very curious, so I hope he hops into one of the live traps I bought so my husband doesn't resort to snap traps :( he is absolutely adorable!

  • Very cute! Amazing how trusting that little mouse was of you. I've had lots of experience with deer mice, and they are usually afraid of people. It usually takes some time before a deer mouse will learn to trust you. I recently rescued a deer mouse about that size from my cat. I had to treat him for shock, but he seemed fine otherwise, so I released him the next night.

  • @JourneyMaster It was probably because he lived at the zoo. He was domesticated enough to know people = food. He stayed by the walking trail waiting for people to feed him.

  • @cutestuff2k I had a mom and 2 baby deer mice decide to move in our house recently, and they had no fear what so ever of humans. At first, it really freaked us out seeing them stare at us without running, clapping our hands, moving fast, nothing startled them. We ended up picking them up by hand(with a dish towel) and carrying them to the woods to set um free. They didn't even struggle when we picked them up. They just cuddled up... I almost felt bad abandoning them in a strange place.

  • @JourneyMaster how do you treat them for shock?? what do they do to let you know there going thru shock???

  • @shadeshiest22 I figured he was in shock because he was still, listless, and let me pick him up and hold him, even though, I saw no visible signs of injury. Wild mice usually won't let you handle them at all. To treat him for shock, I put him in a small aquarium with soft bedding and covered him with lots of soft toilet paper to keep him warm. Usually, the immediate treatment for shock is to keep the victim warm and comfortable. It worked. The mouse was fine in an hour or two.

  • @JourneyMaster whenever we try to do that it dies. :(

  • @SantaFishes101 I've had a few mice and birds that I've tried to rescue die on me myself. It's always sad.

It's great when they make it, though. Soon, I'm hoping to post a cute video of some mice that I rescued that will be released very soon. It started out as 3 mice, but two of them were pregnant and it quickly became 12 mice!

Now that the warm weather is here and the mice are grown, they can be set free. I became very attached to them and I'll really miss them! :(

  • @JourneyMaster Hi - there is one thing to worry about when a cat gets hold of a mouse. Even if the cat

doesn't hurt it, if it gets its saliva on the mouse - the mouse will need antibiotic treatment or it will sicken

and die from the bacteria in the cat's mouth. If you get another mouse away from your cat, if possible,

try to find a wildlife rehabber in your area to take it and treat it. Then you can release it without worrying.

    Thanks for being kind.

  • @Anntelope Thanks for the advice. Gladly, all the mice I've saved from the cat's mouth had survived.

I regret giving the last baby mouse I rescued to a nearby vet clinic that treats wild animals. I think he would have healed on his own given more time. He was so small, the vets just observed him for a while. He did recover, but the vet refused to let me release him where he was found. They released him in a strange area against my requests which really hurt the chances of the mouse surviving.

  • @JourneyMaster Oh wow - that's a bummer. Who the heck do they think they are

anyway? The mouse should always be released where it came from whenever possible.

  • @Anntelope When I told the vets that a wild animal always has a much better chance to survive when released in a familiar territory, they told me that I didn't know what I was talking about. It's common sense! It's even documented. Some animals will even try to find their way back home and get killed in the process. I get really upset when I think about that poor little mouse dumped in some strange woods without shelter, family, or food.

I always wonder if the poor guy lasted very long.

  • @JourneyMaster one really good place to release a mouse is around a zoo. They don't use poisons

around the animals and there's always a nice supply of various foods for animals etc. If I were you?

I'd print up some data about wild mice and how they need to be in familiar territory to survive and give

it to those omnipotent vets. Vets are very unscrupulous people - over vaccinating people's pets and

giving them Cancer. "VAS" - Vaccination Associated Sarcoma is what it's called.

  • @Anntelope Yeah, I worry about some of the drugs vets use. Even physicians that treat humans are sometimes unscrupulous. I recently avoided getting an unnecessary, and expensive cat scan by getting a second opinion. I saw a program last night on doctors and how insurance companies influence their decisions. People with lyme disease have few options and the health insurance companies put real pressure on doctors to prevent them from giving their patients long-term treatments.

  • @Anntelope It's hard finding a good home for mice. Everything preys on them. I've a friend who will soon release some mice in the woods near her home that I had captured in a lady's apartment next to my place. Unfortunately, I can't release them near the lady's apartment because they will just go right back inside the place. which has kill traps installed. The mice will be released with food in an old trailer for shelter. The place is up for sale so, I just hope the old trailer isn't destroyed.

  • @Anntelope I held onto those mice I rescued for a while because they had two litters of pinkies right after I caught them. I needed to give the pups time to be weaned. The mice are all old enough now. I hated letting them go. They really grew on me! They used to all play on one wheel at a time. It was hilarious. I took several videos of them before giving them to a friend that will be releasing them. I will be posting a video of them very soon.

  • jesus that is super fast. bt so cute

  • So cute. The cutest thing on Earth in fact. Awwwww

  • They also carry hantavirus. No vaccine, no cure.

  • @cmann69074 I think you're more likely to get Fajita Flu from the illegals on the buses here than any disease form mice. One thing I can tell ya, mice are cleaner than beaners..lol

  • I killed one of these a while ago in the basement- the spring bar on the mousetrap came down on his poor little neck, making his big eyes bug out. Poor little pal... So I got me a new electronic trap which zaps it the moment it touches a steel pad situated in front of a peanut butter bait panel; all inside of a wee little box. Instantaneous death- no pain; just a final memory of finding a thick, moist lump of peanut butter. Buried him in the backyard where he'll push up a tulip or iris.

  • @MichelleRobles777 If you believe that it doesn't hurt to be electrocuted - I have to tell you - it hurts

and you'd be amazed at how much PAIN you can feel in a second. Being electrocuted is like having

a hammer smash every single molecule of your body at the same time. I got zapped from a lawn mower

motor when I was a kid. I was standing bare foot in the wet grass while pulling the rope to turn it on

and I somehow touched something. BAM. I was knocked out but not before I felt it. OW.

  • .... =/

  • @jcattera: You're a douche bag. Enough said.

  • so cute! why couldn't you throw it a bit of apple or bread or somethin?!!!

  • I would if I could! We were at the zoo. We didn't have any food on us at all.

  • Ok that is the cutest little mouse I have ever seen...and I want one damn it!.

I mean look at the little mousey its cute sodft warm n FLUFFY!.

    neep n_n

  • So cute. I love mice.

  • My little cute cousin. =0)

    Go Deer Mousey Go!

  • jesus he's fast

  • it is so cute and fluffy wow it even lets you pet it you know the little mouse could get a tick on you so be careful

  • I have a couple of these little mice living in my shed. I caught one last night in a Hav-a-hart trap last night and released it about half a kilometer from our house.

I caught another one tonight and released it half a kilometer from the house. Came back from releasing it and discovered one crawling up the wall in the shed. I have since learned that these little mice have a very strong navigational instinct. It's possible the one I caught tonight is the same one I caught last night.

  • well, i have my question answered, my cats corned one of these, they wanted to kill it, i bought a hav-a-heart trap & still trying to catch it after 1 wk. it somehow sneaks in my house & disappears. Found out it was a white footed deer mouse, mine has white feet & white belly & huge eyes. What is it doing in my house beside eating cat food, lol. hope it gets caught by the trap soon.

  • it is a deer mouse feild mice are the ones most commonly found in your house (of a more solid grey/brown with smaller heads) . I keep 2 of the little deer as pets and they are very friendly and not as jumpy as the other typs of mice.

  • Thank you, I've changed the title and added "deer" to my tags :) They're so adorable. How long do they live in captivity? I wish I could have kept the little guy.

  • well if you caught them wild there is no telling how old they really are but the average life span of a mouse in captivity is from 2 to 3 years i had one mouse that lived to 4years. I was going to breed the ones i have but on them it is a lot harder to tell the males from females and they are NOT fond of you fliping them over to look.

  • omg , such a tame lil thing aint he? hard decision. i wonder if u left him there some stupid boys might have come along? cud ppl really do that to a mouse.. hes so tame!! must be used to ppl. wud be nasty if he got trodden on. :( the little dear. xx to mousie (i love field mice!)

  • Yeah I was surprised at how tame he was. I stood by him and protected him from trampling feet until I made sure he was well off the path and out of sight. I'm sure he's just fine.

  • aww! did you keep it?

  • I couldn't, it was a wild animal and I had nowhere to put it. I was in the middle of the zoo, and it would have chewed through my purse. I'm sure they only live about a year anyway.

  • @cutestuff2k Zoos are often pretty good places for mice because they don't use too much poison

in those places for obvious reasons plus there's always some food around.
