Just as in the day of Elijah, when he felt all alone, God told him that he had hundreds of others who He had also saved.
The only one who we know as to veracity of faith is ourselves alone. Yes, contend for good doctrine. But in this end time call of the Holy Spirit, they are coming out of every denomination, kindred, tongue. Do not despise the work which God is doing. For he who is not against you, does not need to be fought against.
What God has called me to do is to pray & do so earnestly.
Yes! at :41 'It is only the OBJECT OF FAITH that justifies, never the act of faith.'
Whoo-hoo, well said, even for a Calvie! Faith is NON-meritorious, it's just how the soul breathes. Faith is never a work, it's endemic to soul structure and function, and always and ONLY the OBJECT you believe in has the merit or demerit. Which shows, in ITS ACTION ON YOU.
@brainouty After :41 and after the fact God is Logic and Erudition, well.. I'm happy your happy, and that's where I stop. I descended from the Huguenots, and Calvinism is a childish form of Christianity. But at least you got the Five Solas. :)
@brainouty Unless you humble yourself and become like a child... does not the Gospel teach? Even those who have lost their minds in Alzheimer's homes still understand the simplicity of the Gospel and know the Lord. It is a humbling experience to see how sweetly the elderly understand our faith. Their complete conviction of the facts we use such big words to make our meaning both mean and obscure, is lost on them. They don't know their own names, but can recite the Lord's prayer.
@courag1 hi, beloved courag1. Yes, they understand the Gospel. That was my point. God is the God of Logic and Erudition, which the video said, and that's true. God is also the God of the helpless. And that's why I'm not a Calvinist.
Calvin was about works salvation, but yelled Grace loudly and Sovereignty loudly. It was in the fine print, that he trashed God.
